I miss the feeling I got from reading TOG 3-5 and ACOTAR books 1-3

Agreed. I hope it was written with the purpose to be used later to further character growth and relationship building within the IC and not just be a weird CC3 plot mover at the expense of the growth and healing everyone in ACOTAR went through in Silver Flame…it just didn’t make sense to me for her to do that imo and I would have been beyond furious if I was in the IC
HOFAS SPOILERS
Imagine finally having peace for your people after much pain and suffering and you have a healthy mate and new baby boy and your family is safe and life is good …but then your sister in law sends a magical nuclear weapon into a world filled with powerful enemies that having been waiting to overtake your world for 15,000 years via the hands of the one person that could bring them over 🙃

Nesta’s split second decision to gamble all their lives to help Bryce (who gave them no reason to trust her to not sacrifice their lives or world for her mate considering that was all Bryce did during her time with them) was too foolish and risky to make sense regardless of SJM having it work out for the best plot-wise.
And Rhys being angry and ripping into Nesta for it was valid, and it’s unreasonable to hate on him for his reaction because was he suppose to just shaking his head at Nesta and cross his fingers that an army of powerful enemies wouldn’t show up with the mask next instead of Bryce returning it?….He responded as a high lord and a father towards someone exposing them to a very extreme and real threat. I get that it’s not an ACOTAR book and that it was done for Bryce to be the hero of the CC plot line…but it was stupid and frankly out of character for Nesta considering how overprotective Nesta normally is toward her loved ones and their safety.
Personally I think it would have made more sense for Bryce to steal the mask from them and give it back than for Nesta to hand it over to someone who gave her no reason to trust her with it at the risk of everyone she loves.

HOFAS SPOILERS BELOW …BUT PLEASE EXPLAIN THE NESTA WORSHIP CAUSE GIRL??
Tumblr media
….why are we defending Nesta?? And why was it unreasonable for Rhys to be pissed at Nesta in HOFAS..?!?
Regardless of it working or not, she endangered their entire world and gambled everyone’s lives to help someone that only showed them multiple times that they shouldn’t trust her. Giving up the mask to someone from another world that is full of their enemies was borderline treason….she deserved to get shit for that because wtfffffff 😒 she’s lucky it happened to work out cause what would she have done if Bryce failed??

One thing I enjoy about “opposites attract” kind of lovers is when the two are superficially different but share the same morals/values under it all, but the process of discovering that is a slow one and hampered by the fact that they have to learn each other’s language, so to speak. They both have very different ways of communicating and showing trust and affection, so like the angsty brooding character is suspicious of the bubbly character’s care because they believe it’s insincere, while the bubbly character doesn’t notice the angsty one’s subtle but significant gestures and instead takes their cold demeanour at face value. Then slowly, slowly on their journey together they learn how the other one speaks, and copy each other’s mannerisms, etc, and come to understand their values and how they really feel, like all this is a mouthful to explain but that is *chef kisses fingers* my fucking jam babey
