i know it's a little bit toxic but nothing is more satisfying to me than when a fictional character who is generally very dignified, polite, and calm even under pressure is finally persuaded to unleash their anger and it fucking explodes out of them with enough molten volcanic rage to level entire cities

For the younglings who don’t know...

Watching S20E41 again, partly because of that anon who said they rewatched it recently. This was a mistake, hearing Jac talk about funerals (saying she couldn’t go to Roxanna’s) is making me sad.

Also the way Henrik looks at John still gets me. Gah. He was SO in love. Not to mention the ACTING.

Edit: Sidenote, the Serena and Leah story was so fucking cringe. The useage of the Cheating Bisexual trope was bad enough but even putting that aside, the story just sucked.

Edit 2: I MISS ZAV.

Edit 3: I am eternally laughing at the scene where John goes “am I the only one who thinks this is looking a little futile??” and literally everyone else shouts “YES!”.

Edit 4: Oh yes, here we are. The Johnrik lovers’ tiff. Iconic.

Edit 5: The actor who played Zav’s granddad was really good.

Edit 6: The CONCERN in Henrik’s voice when he says to John “You sound tired”. <3

Edit 7: Oh, and here we are. The scene where Henrik asks John out. “Henrik didn’t know he was bi until Russ” my ASS.

Edit 8: Marcus Griffiths is so good. Also, do you ever think about how awful it must’ve been for Zav’s mum to lose ANOTHER son? :(

Also, Donna’s gaydar strikes again - she picks up that Leah is into Serena.

Edit 9: I didn’t realise the parallel - John grabs Henrik’s hands to stop him while he’s operating on the patient in this episode. Then when they’re operating on Jac in RTTM part 1 Henrik grabs John’s hands to stop him.

Edit 10: I know I say this whenever I talk about this episode but I really am OBSESSED with Jac basically being like to John and Henrik “you guys can have all the gay little arguments you want, but don’t do it in MY THEATRE when we’re OPERATING ON SOMEONE”.

Edit 11: THE WAY HENRIK LOOKS AT JOHN. AAAAAAA.

Also “Can you bring her back?”/”I wish I could.” - exchange between John and Henrik respectively, or exchange between the Holby fandom and the Casualty writers? 😂

Can I just say I want Henrik to go all Bruce Willis in his attempts to save Holby City from the computer virus and power failure, using these scenarios.

Forget the vest. The heating is stuck on full and he just needs to be half-nekkid in suit trousers, streaked with blood. And no shoes or socks. Why? Because we’re all pervs really.

*wriggling around air duct system* Now I know what TV dinners feel like (though he’s probably never, ever eaten one.)
