MTG Tumblr blog list?

Hey y’all,  I haven’t posted on here much for a while now (mostly just from being too tired / too busy at work to make MTG memes when I think of them), but since there seems to be a sudden influx of birdsite refugees I will try to be more active on here.

I am curious as to who all still uses Tumblr for Magic: The Gathering content. If you post a lot about Magic, please sound off either in the replies or reblog so people can give you a follow!

Unfinity has been out for a few weeks now, and I have had a blast playing it with friends.

I love the attraction mechanic, and immediately added it to my Breya Contraptions commander deck (which I have now dubbed carnival Contraptions).

I also really love the sticker mechanic and how it plays, but it is also the biggest pain point for me in the set. What I mean is that the sticker sheets just don't have the reusability I had hoped. So I have been brainstorming all sorts of ideas for more reusable "stickers". Current winner, and the idea I'm working on for now is tokenized stickers.

Now, I definitely lucked out and had some old punch out tokens from Ikoria and some old perforated sheets from Amonkhet/Hour of Devastation. These make for a solid base for me to stick the stickers to for further modification.

The second step was inspired from the Ikoria commander deck I made back when the set was released. The deck uses the keyword counters and I wanted a nice set to go alongside the deck. What I found was Mod Podge dimensional magic. That what you see above coating the sticker tokes.

I'm still early in the process and have a long way to go (as well as still learning some pitfalls of this method) but I am hopeful and liking the results thus far.

Has anyone else had some issues with the stickers longevity? Come up with a way to use them longer? I'd love to hear ideas. Let me know!

Wanted to give y'all an update! I am five cards away from done with all the decks! Of course I had to build the new good boy Yoshimaru, hence why I'm not quite done yet. The playtests I have run clock the decks as a little janky, but super fun, so success on that front!

I want to share something I’ve been working on that I’m kind of proud of (and also ashamed of the money I have spent on it since I can’t even play in person yet. 😂)

Partner Decks!

I have taken the 56 partner commanders and created a ‘half’ deck for each of them, using any cards up to Kaldheim (I did not update for Strixhaven, I haven’t even finished the original deck lists yet). I then got little boxes and got some deck list cards printed out. Then started assembling.

I like how they came out

I very much appreciate how the deck list cards accentuate the art that is on the commander itself.

I’ve seen a couple similar ideas since, and I’m sure I wasn’t the first one to put together a project like this, but I like what I have done all the same.

Hi Dave, did you see the new Ragavan Card in Modern Horizons 2? I don't know if Quantum Commander is even still a thing, but do you think that Kari-Zev and Ragavan could be Quantum Partners, since Kari makes a Ragavan Token?

I would totally consider Kari-Zev and Ragavan to be legal Quantum Commander partners since Kari’s card creates Ragavan tokens.

Thanks for asking @deg99!! It’s been a lon time since I’ve gotten a Quantum Commander question, and it’s nice to know there are people still interested in that quirky Vorthos-themed format!

MTG Tumblr Community Master Post

It seems like I used to see posts like these make the rounds every couple of months back in the day, but I haven’t seen one in a long time, so I feel like it’s time.
