“A Final Cry for Help”

Tick tick tick

Five minutes.

I’m not sure how I ended up like this.

Why are they doing this to me?

Surely it’s just a bad dream right?

I ended it. The show is over and the audience is gone

This is just a nightmare and at any moment I will wake up

I’ll be right at home with mom and dad

Please just let me wake up

Tick tick tick

Four minutes.

Why am I still here?

I ENDED IT

Why won’t I wake up?

This isn’t fair!

It wasn’t my fault! Why is this still happening?!

It was all made up that was not me

I was forced as a puppet by the man controlling the strings

“PLEASE LET ME GO!” I scream out, yet I don’t feel heard

Tick tick tick

Three minutes.

“Live and you’ll be a puppet until you break. Die and you’ll be free”

Die and be free? I don’t want to die

I don’t want to go on either. Please cut my strings!

I don’t want to be another cog in their murderous machine

The choices on the screen were not my own please understand

Someone anyone please help me

“PLEASE JUST LET ME DIE!” I cry out again hoping to be heard

I don’t care what happens. I don’t want to keep being responsible

Is this truly the end? Is this how I go?

Tied up and shown off as some sick and twisted display

Tears and blood mix together as my fate is decided by an audience of sadists

There is nothing I can do but beg they have mercy

This is the end.

This is how I go.

While I’m not okay with dying I understand that the audience didn’t want to hurt me

They were trying to help

If only they had tried a little harder

“The audience has chosen for you to die.”

I hope my death will be short even if it will be painful

The box snaps shut as blurred flashes of my childhood go through my mind

As if they couldn’t make my fate any less cruel

My tears have dried but the blood continues to fall to the floor as I slip out of consciousness

Truly a bittersweet tragedy :)
