otaku is a more offensive word than weeaboo, it's basically japanese for weeaboo just adding on the stigma of being a pervert and being really loud, obnoxious and rude. In Japan the word beings to mind the imae of someone who is vocal about how the anime should cater to their fetishistic needs and to hell with anyone else.
