Some inspiration for responsive design sites. I'm planning on doing a responsive site design for Alcatraz so this would be great inspiration for everybody looking to do a site for their place.

Live Surface
This plugin is for Illustrator and allows you to take any of their templates and have the plugin apply your design to them. It's like PSDCovers but a lot more magical and better.

Study in Brand Minimalism
This post is a series of brands that gradually have elements removed from there packaging. I think it's a good thing to see not only how much is unnecessary in package design, but how much is still necessary to keep with the brand when you're going for a minimalistic look.

Web Design Inspirations
Found this post that had nice, clean, and current web designs. You can find them here. I'm finding these to be good references for web design, especially to keep in mind that simple doesn't mean bad.

Alcatraz
Alcatraz Island is one of the nation’s most famous haunted sites. Known for it’s prison and lighthouse, Alcatraz draws many tourists to it a year. Unfortunately, it has little of an existing brand, making it difficult to find information about it, buy nice souvenirs, or even purchase tickets to go. This results in an unorganized feeling that takes away from the experience of visiting the island, which has caused visitor numbers to start going down in recent years.
By creating a cohesive brand system, Alcatraz will be able to become a more organized, easy to visit location. This will result in a renewed popularity in visiting the island, more knowledge of its history, increased revenue and a better experience for the visitors in general.
Alcatraz Island is all about its history. From its lighthouse to its prison, Alcatraz capitalizes on the age of the buildings, it’s former residents, and the atmosphere of the island in general.  It draws in a wide variety of people, but it’s main visitors will be families on vacations and young men and women from 20-40. Alcatraz provides it’s visitors to see the historical fort, lighthouse, and prison that allows them to get a sense of history, excitement from it’s supposed hauntings, and a unique vacation experience to share with friends and family.

The Presidio
The Presidio – The Problem
Founded in San Francisco on September 17, 1776, The Presidio was an active military base for 219 years until 1994 when it became a National Park. Since transitioning from a military base to a national park in 1994, the Presidio has not had any cohesive branding that matches it’s new identity.

Barbasol
GSD&M has made Barbasol into an awesome, manly, vintage shaving cream. It capitalizes on Barbasol's American theme and makes an old brand awesome again.
Who wouldn't want that poster?
GSD&M come out with a couple new commercials that further pushes the old manly American feel, and it's sure to capture a younger demographic for the company.
