The pause after Rebecca says she was thinking of travelling abroad, after Ted has said that he is definitely going. The pause where he's surely meant to say- The obvious thing she's looking for him to SAY there is. What about a visit to Kansas? I can't read that pause as anything but an open invitation from Rebecca for Ted to just ask.

That finale truly was mad though, because I'd spent so long absolutely dismissing (and often actively disliking, for various reasons based on how I view Rebecca and her arc) the fandom's idea of Rebecca goes to Kansas. But. There were moments in that finale I could truly truly have believed that was what was happening in some form. And I think that's what stuck with me about it, that I was ready, and frankly expecting, at the beginning of season three, at the beginning of the finale even, to be shown that ted and rebecca was not on the table. But the show seemed to keep it there until the very very last second. This isn't even offering an opinion on the matter, just kind of wild that the finale in some ways implied the possibility of things I didn't even imagine could happen.
