This was just after the Cat King tempted Edwin in the shape of Charles and got so very close before Edwin realised it was wrong and backed away so quickly.
This was Edwin’s ‘Oh!’ moment
This was Edwin’s ‘I’m in love with you’ moment

Vaguely hoping Hob Gadling meets Edwin and Charles - he should be able to see them, I think

Every once in a while I remember Tim and Sasha and Martin (and Elias too…) threw Jon a birthday party and told him to make a wish as he blew out the candles and he said he was wishing they all disappeared AND THEY DID….
It’s just - heartbreaking….

Edwin at the beginning of episode 1 - totally unable to punch anything hard and reluctant to fight.
Edwin at end of episode 1 when the witch attacks Charles - charges straight in, fists high, prepares to thump her hard.
See, Charles, Edwin can fight, he just needs the right motivation.

Delighted to find that when Edwin is reading the magazine story to Charles, we can see the advert on the back that says ‘Twink’

Oh, Edwin!
And I am certain Charles will fall in love with him, in the same way, eventually. How could he not? Everyone else falls in love with him.
And Charles went to Hell for him!
And I need about four more extra seasons for this to happen

Dead Boy Detectives Episode 7 spoiler…
That’s a much better Despair than we got in Sandman. Chilling, terrifying. Strong. Truly one of the Endless.

My parents had to sign it as part of the RAF, although both very low down - but when my mother worked in the tax office she also had to sign it as the confidentiality of taxes and tax returns was considered a vital tool to guard against blackmail…I’m not saying these are the most important people in the defence of the realm but only certain roles will mean you have to sign it -
I’ve worked in govt admin all my life and never had to sign it.
You know who signs the Official Secrets Act? The military. The secret services. Members of the government. Certain high ranking civil service members being read into state secrets.
You have to be working with knowledge and secrets about the defence and safety of the nation.
So the OIAR is not just an official government agency but it’s one that deals with the defence of the nation…

I won’t tell you I love you, but I won’t be able to look away. It’s the same thing, isn’t it? I don’t want to miss an inch of you, a second of you.

I’ve been watching Dead Boys Detectives for precisely one (1) episode and Edwin is my boy, my deeply damaged darling, who deserves all the love he can get (preferably from Charles) but isn’t currently getting

Ok, and looking at Gwen through the lens ‘exact language matters’ in this episode, I have to look at her scene in this episode again.
And first of all you will take the theory that Gwen is in fact undercover and investigating the OIAR out of my cold dead hands.
The direction is Gwen is silent and shaking. And she blames herself for whatever Bonzo did. Lena sent her, Gwen didn’t say the name or know what she was doing, but she feels guilty. That implies to me that she has a conscience, she is a good person.
(Notice Mr Bonzo’s theme playing, hauntingly, throughout this scene?)
And Gwen very clearly differentiates between good guys and bad guys and is horrified to find that the OIAR is bad guys (as opposed to Lena’s conscience-salving ‘we manage the bad guys’)
And Gwen response to the latest one being in her email is ‘I’ll sort it’ which could mean she’ll do as she’s told but also could mean she’s going to make sure it doesn’t happen. I’ll sort it is not a definite ‘I’ll obey orders’

Ok, let’s look closely at Celia’s statement because Magnus Archives made it clear the exact use of language is important.
Spoilers..
Celia didn’t say she was a mother. She said she had a baby and she doesn’t know who the dad is
In Marked, when she woke up the side of the motorway, she tried to call someone to get help…
Which suggests to me - someone else is at home. Or at least there’s someone she could call for help. Because someone looks after that baby while Celia is at work
What if the baby is not hers? She’s raising Jack, possibly with someone else? And that’s why she doesn’t know who the father is - because she’s not the one that got pregnant.
When she says she had a wild couple of years, that could mean all sorts of things. It could mean a lot of drinking and drugs. It could also mean struggling through the end of the world. It could also mean coming through the new world and trying to find her place - fighting monsters here.
Because her date with Sam seemed to have an awful lot of digging about Sam’s background and the Institute and the cases.
Anyway. That’s my theory. She cares for Jack, but Jack is not her baby.
And my favourite theory right now is - it’s Agnes’ baby. And the baby is in hiding, safe with Celia, where whoever is using Agnes can’t find it…(and if it is Jack Barnabas’s baby that would explain why Agnes called it Jack)

Hmm, no glitch…but we rely on the glitch now don’t we? What if the glitch doesn’t work on someone from the TMA universe…
Unless of course - Celia is lying….its a really good excuse for not being around sometimes…

Ok ok ok - thirteen - lucky for some. Magnus Protocol 13 spoilers below..
Is Freddie spying on Celia and Sam’s date? Creepy, Freddie…
Alice talks to Celia about Sam? And she had a lot to say…
What? What? Jack is a baby?! Celia’s baby?!? Did anyone guess that?
So Celia is asking about The Magnus Institute. And Sam thinks the Institute cursed him…
Wonder what caused him to freak out?
I knew he dated Alice!
So Sam thinks the cases are fake?
Oh my I can hear Bonzo’s theme tune quietly in the background when Gwen asks Lena about Bonzo
‘We’re the bad guys’ ‘We’re managing the bad guys’ ooh - and maintaining the balance. I’ve heard that before. Did Elias say it? It’s a common theme in horror though.
And Gwen is going out again. I maintain she is still trying to find out the truth to fight them. I think that’s what she meant by ‘I’ll sort it’
Oh, that bloody answerphone message. I hate those.
That bloke claims he’s not a dick and then proves he is a dick. And I’m pretty sure that shorting is illegal and evil…
Dantex? Like - Dante? Zorro trade - as in Zorro?
Is there a theme here of characters in literature or culture being all part of whatever is going on?
Oh, this is the kind of person who really deserves it….
He was betting against himself? Now that is really stupid. This reminds me of the dice guy - taking risk after risk and gambling it’ll work out.
Notre Dame Du Mai is a real place. Popular with hikers. Means Our Lady of May.
Personal adjustment? Is one of the Externals going after him? Did it come through the phone?
Oh Alice. I can tell you’re jealous. But you were nice enough not to tell Celia bad things about Sam. And now Sam is telling you to back off. Poor Alice. Getting the brush off.
And she’s continuing to protect Sam! Wait - Official Secrets Act?
So it’s an official government agency - and it’s considered to have information vital to the safety of the country….
