with the protests in LA today and the violent federal and local pushback from police: we (me and my editor ryan fae) are accepting leaks, insider data, and public + leak archives relevant to ICE/DHS, LAPD, LASD, and anyone else that could shift the power of knowledge to the people if it were published.
in my words:
for now it's just minor archival data and some older data, but YOU can make a change to that.
we have three bits up already. the below article will be updated constantly. contact info at the bottom of the article. we promise anonymity and general source protection.

Honestly? That’s the craziest plot twist I’ve ever read

Need you guys to know I am soooo anti generative AI. In case that wasn't clear. It's bad for the environment, unethical, theft, and will never be as freaky as me. It is inferior in every way

Assorted World of Mages/Simon Snow Headcanons
I was thinking of including these in a fic I want to write, but who knows if I'll ever get around to it, so I'll just share with the masses and let everyone enjoy!
World of Mages
Back during the World Wars, espionage was as big among Mages as it was Normals. Mages would imbue coins with secret messages using "twopence worth", then leave them on the ground for the intended recipient mage to pick them up without rousing suspicion and play the secret message with "a penny for your thoughts". Coins would have to be affixed to the ground with "stay put" to avoid Normals taking them by mistake. Eventually this practice fell off once language changed and "a penny for your thoughts" became a spell for online shopping, leaving all these message-infused coins largely impossible to listen to
There's a conspiracy theory that the "person on business from Porlock" that interrupted Samuel Taylor Coleridge from completing his poem "Kubla Khan" was a time-traveling mage on a mission, because the finished poem would have given rise to a spell that caused untold catastrophe. Those who believe in it, when told that spells for true time travel don't exist, just say "the words don't exist yet."
Watford Specific
The Roommates' Anathema spell is the "bell, book, and candle" ritual, requiring all three items to cast.
The echo floor in the Cloisters was created by a screwed up or supercharged casting of "as above, so below"
When "Agatha All Along" came out, Watford had to hold a special assembly urging students to not cast the Ballad of the Witches' Road, and had to give an emergency refresher course on teleporting and returning spells like "there's no place like home", "all roads lead to Rome", and "country roads, take me home" (it's useless in Britain, but they wanted to cover their bases, especially for the exchange students).
Spells
Occupational rhymes, like "tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor" are amplifying spells that only work if the participant mages actually have the jobs described (or at least, a close enough analogy). "Tinker, Tailor" specifically is difficult to cast in its entirely, given that there are very few poor or beggar mages, on account of that they can create infinite money. "Butcher, baker, and candlestick maker" is slightly less powerful, but much easier to achieve.
(Alternatively, these spells give someone the skills of the named trade, or summon someone of the occupation.)
Sea shanties are the nursery rhymes of the sea: Powerful if cast in their entirety, but they only work on the water.
Tongue twisters only work if the mage can recite them fast three times in a row. They're so bothersome and time-consuming that most mages never bother to try them unless they're shoring up their skills, showing off, or participating in a spellcasting competition. They're considered advance-level tests in Watford's Elocution class.
Riddles have particular longevity compared to most spells, but dissipate as soon as a mage casts a decent enough answer.
Creatures
Copy cats: A cat that can duplicate itself. Each copy's color is a little less saturated than the one that spawned it, and if left uncontrolled long enough, it will eventually lead to purely grayscale or black-and-white cats. They're a problem for hoarders.
Loan sharks: Sharks that fiercely guard whatever object, no matter how valuable, that they are given. They will only willingly give what they protect if they are offered something of equal or greater value; if a mage has nothing on them, they may still be inclined to give it up, but will never forget the mage in their debt, and can smell them across any distance, allowing them to hunt and collect their payment (often in blood). Kept as guard dogs by merpeople and often used by pirate mages to protect their treasures.
Shanks's ponies: Horses with only two legs. Mages that grow up around normal horses tend to be unnerved by them, but some (particularly young girls at Watford) develop a passionate fixation on them (aka, magickal horse girls)
Tocks: Like ticks, but instead of blood, they suck time. Victims will start losing track of time and finding themselves chronically late and feeling like they're always behind. Eventually they start aging, developing gray hair and wrinkles.

Well obviously I can’t have chronic fatigue, that’s a real problem for real disabled people that’s diagnosed by doctors probably. Clearly I just have some sort of perpetual exhaustion issue, that is also almost certainly my fault somehow
