VERY LONG ANGRY RANT FROM A GUY WHO IS OBSESSED WITH MR RECA IN A VERY NOT SANE WAY BELOW YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

i'm putting his tags here solely because i need to know if anyone else shares my feelings about the current situation regarding his playability+relevance. please be gentle i put the rant under a "read more" for a reason

i hate how whenever people start talking about hsr 3.8 speculations the main go-to is constance. just constance. i know she is speculated to be playable by leakers - and i know she is also speculated to be a cremator by some people because of some random old simulated universe occurance (?????????).

however, it baffles me that - despite the little we know about him so far, and despite the build-up to his character that we have had since what, 2.2? and despite the fact there are LITERALLY FILM REEL BORDERS ON THE PREVIEW SCREEN SHOWN IN THE ANNIVERSARY STREAM, no one (except for the people who care a lot about him) ever seems to consider that reca could also maybe, possibly be a massive driving force in the 2.8 story.

+ with how hsr's character release schedule is going (and the leak that there are currently no four stars in development) it's likely that even if constance releases alongside him he will be a five star regardless.

also i must make it clear: i don't mind constance being a part of 3.8 at all - i have zero problem with her as a character, i think her inclusion could actually be very interesting

i am primarily talking about my gripes with hsr twitter and the hsr leaks reddit here. i have even seen someone say "oh he's definitely not playable at this point" DESPITE the fact that one of his very first leaks was a playable-type model that included his weapon. not to mention leakers have claimed that his kit is basically complete (unless hoyo pulled a screwllum and gave his kit to someone else which if they did i'm going to. Do things in minecraft).

now, because i've come to believe, after much deliberation and painful realizations, that i have a genuine special interest in reca, i may be overreacting here. at this point, though, i honestly couldn't care less. the hsr community - especially the leaks side of it - has started to piss me off.

hoyoverse's treatment of him also pisses me off. they included screwllum - who is also a character that for some insane reason they have decided they are going to constantly put off making playable - in the recent anniversary events as a chibi (referring to star rail world and that one progress report event), but not him. i don't think they've even acknowledged he exists after 2.7, which included that picture taking event.

is he a fictional character? yes. am i taking this too seriously? absolutely. do i need to calm down? for sure. unfortunately, i am autistic and mentally ill and i am going to scream into the void about this until something changes, because, for whatever reason, my brain has decided that it's going to allow mr. reca honkai star rail to latch onto it like some sort of brain-eating parasite. or a memetic virus (more likely).
