errrrm. this feels like a security question. but in all honesty, shopping malls.

i live in a rural area (and was quite sheltered growing up) so i love feeling overwhelmed by my surroundings and constantly having places to go.

when someone asks a vague question, i think people feel an obligation to have a really insightful and personal reason as to why they think the way they do. i just think walking into the back of a spencer’s with an overpriced cup of pretzels is the experience. in my mind, there’s an edge to malls. something uniquely 2000’s and rebellious. i know most malls these days are industrial and corporate, catering to an audience that has since grown up, but i like my idea of malls.

what book/movie has left an impact on you?

i don’t know how in-depth of an answer you want, but i’ll try to be clear cut. (without spoiling too much!)

for books; one of my teachers lended me a copy of homesick for another world by ottessa moshfegh. i don’t consider myself the biggest fan of her work, but i think stories surrounding a point of debate (specifically questioning a character’s morality) are very interesting, and ones i tend to reflect a lot about myself on!

for movies; saw. i’ve loved it ever since i was little. i think the themes are similar in why i love it. objectively, i know it’s a terrible film and franchise, but the concept of evaluating just how much you value life is so intriguing.
