              To be frankly speaking, was this meant to be a compliment? Or an insult? Search as much as his mind, could, it didn’t seem to fit anywhere, just like Jin Kaien himself. Thereon, there’s little need to mull over this Pointless statement or break his mind trying to comprehend the utter nonsense that came out from his teammate’s mouth. His response to this declaration? Lass Isolet remains silent, staring at the redhead, as he stumbles over himself trying to make his speech at the Striker, childish as it may be… it was Jin Kaien. Unfortunately, that was… not exactly the term Friendly, whence he did make a promise opting to place some form of effort in this… teammate and friendship thing…, right? Choosing to reply instead.

Hearing the other talk about Egypt, Jin listened to it intently as they rode their horses. Egypt despite being sandy terrain, it did have such wonderful wonders in it. No matter what dimension he was in, the world is always such a large and wide place.

Jin appreciates the Pharaoh’s offer to find his friends. The man was already kind enough to give him a place to stay. This rule truly had generous heart and it couldn’t help but make his lips into a helpless smile. 

‘‘I wouldn’t want to burden your guards identifying at least 14 people,’‘ There was more than that, but the ones he excluded who were demons who had no problem coming by and go. 

His gazed then looked down in a small depressed matter, as he was worried about the wellbeing of his comrades. Though he had a hunch most of the group had found each other, and he knows one person who oftens travels dimensional rifts individually. 

‘‘The most whom I want to find is a pink haired girl named Amy. She often ties her hair up in twintails, a cute and energetic girl who can truly fight. ‘‘ He already lost his composure back at Mousepia with Ley, who told him countless of times to shut about Amy. ‘‘There’s our leader is also a redhead like me but her hair is a lighter red, she is a swordsman who’s authority can command us to work along. She seems cold, but is friendly and rather short tempered.’‘ 

Jin described the people who was sure to be eye-catching. Though the ironic thing was, everyone in the Grand Chase was rather abnormal and rather eye-catching. ‘’She didn’t use to be so cold, though she was definitely childish and barbaric when we first met. Sometimes I felt like she’s grown up to be a fine leader, even if her attitude starts to resemble a certain lonely grump in our group. ‘’ he started rambling, it just felt nice talking about his friends to someone he felt comfortable with.

Speaking of the lonely grump, Jin couldn’t help but chuckle as Elesis had resembled Lass in being cold and authoritative, not in a bad way. ‘’A grump with silver hair and sky blue eyes. Always so serious and breezing out the cold Antartic air with his mere presence.

‘’ Lass has always been like a walking iceberg.’’

"Often you make me question your age, Jin Kaien. I partially understand Tairin and Crimson River's frustration with you." But Lass didn't particularly find him annoying, just... not exactly normal. Then again, who in the Chase was categorised as normal? SIGH....

He has no problem gnawing his teeth on this guy out of so called frustration and spite, exactly like a child. And that’s right, who is considered normal in the Grand Chase? It has been a group of abnormal children since it was formed.

That explains why he felt such powerful energy from such a strange looking... pendant? It sure had an odd shape, as it was big in size and was literally a pyramid shape pendant hanging around the Pharaoh's neck. Sensing such strong energy, he was glad it was good in hands then.

Yes, Jin liked and trusted the Pharaoh already.

The redhead had sensed no malicious intent. There was nothing sinister about him and he too could tell that this Pharaoh was a kind and righteous man. He was able to relax and had his mind at ease without feeling paranoid like before. As for the explanation of magical energy, Jin gave a nod and smiled as he indeed understood the explanation clearly.

"I feel flattered," he chuckled lightly at the compliment. Though the Pharaoh wasn't the first to point out his nature, his modesty and humbleness still could not help him feel rather flustered. It's not as if he didn't have an ego, he was proud as a lion. Only the redhead doesn't rub it in people faces, unless he was on the battlefield to taunt his enemies. He wouldn't be the Red Lion if he wasn't proud like one.

His eyes gazed to the horse that had been given to him, it was certainly a fine looking horse. Jin reached out and gently caressed the snout, cooing soft words to the animal. "What a majestic horse you are, it has been awhile since I rode one. So please be gentle with me," The horse nudged at Jin's face playfully with its snout with a neigh, making him chuckle once more.

"Hmm? Oh, I guess... you could say that." Though it was much more complicated to explain where he really came from.

"I am indeed a master martial artist, hand to hand combat is my specialty. As for my origins, it's rather complicated but not far off." He can't just tell anyone he is from another dimension. Last thing he needs is the Pharaoh to think he's gone crazy or was delusional.

"My reason for the journey is... to find my friends. Most of us were separated, but I believe fate will make us meet again one day.’’

He doesn’t find many people who can sense auras like him. There was only a few handful of people in his group that could do it. The most adept in it was Jin Kaien himself. 

Though too bad he couldn’t hide the excitement in his eyes as he stared at the Pharaoh. Like shining eyes with stars as he felt admiration, anyone with eyes could see how excited the redhead suddenly became.

‘‘You can sense auras too?’‘

His voice had a tone filled with curiosity and excitement in it. As Jin realized he almost lost his composure in front of a respectful Pharaoh. His froze for a second and faked a cough. Regaining back his calm and proper composure. 

‘‘My bad, I got a little bit excited there.’‘ Okay that was a lie, he lost his composure like a child for like a few seconds. 

‘‘I don’t meet many people who can sense auras like me, so this is quite a pleasant surprise.’‘ There weren’t many people like him to begin with, such gift comes with great responsibility as well after all. 

‘‘And pardon for the late introduction, I am Jin, Jin Kaien. A wandering martial artist. I humbly thank you Lord Pharaoh for your kind offer, it would be rude not accept your kindness.’’

Atem couldn’t help but find himself chuckling even more. The young man, Jin Kaien was his name, seem to lose his composure and a bright light had emerged out of him. Honestly, if he had to compare, it was like that of his dear friend and magician-in-training, Mana.

“Why yes, I can…” He then motioned towards the Millennium Pendant.

“Along with my natural magic, I can tap into the power of my Millennium Pendant. In a way, it allows me to see the magical essences of that of a person and allow to judge them.” He looked up at Jin. “I compared your essences to that of a fire, as I said before, warm and welcoming. Along with that, I sense great Goodness emitting from within your heart.”

He hope he understood what the Pharaoh was speaking off, but regardless… It made him happy when Jin had accepted his offer and he turned towards on of the guards, motioning them to bring Jin a horse.

As the horse was brought, Atem turned his attention back on Jin.

“Jin, was it? You said you are a martial artist, a fighter correct? By any chance are you traveling from the Far East?” It was rare they get travels from Far East but it wasn’t uncommon. And by the way Jin had dressed… He seem to be the type from the Far East. “What brings your travels here to Egypt?”

The sounds of loud galloping of a horse’s hooves ringed in his ears and made him turn in the sound’s direction. His eyes found a young man with a rather…. Strange hairstyle heading his way. Jin blinked, with the way the hair shaped-

It looked like a starfish…

His face scrunched up slightly as to not let out any laughter from his childish thoughts. Hearing this person was the Pharaoh, it will be disrespectful for him to even laugh. Jin certainly does not want to be the next person to be thrown into the dungeon after the man he had just just helped detained. Luckily the redhead had a lot of will power and managed to keep a blank face.

Jin let out a small sigh as he managed to not laugh. Looking at the Pharaoh in front of him, his lips quirked a small smile. Putting a hand on his own chest, Jin bowed slightly in respect. “It’s an honour to suddenly meet the ruler of this kingdom, Lord Pharaoh.” How he glad this Pharaoh seemed nice. The last Pharaoh he met in his dimension, was a deranged and evil mummified Pharaoh.

“And speaking of gratitude, I’m not really sure what to ask. I just arrived here and happen to stumble upon this particular kingdom.”

He was sure the young Pharaoh already knows he looks like foreigner. The assumption is correct, but not just a foreigner of the land, but also a foreigner of this dimension. Jin wondered if anyone he knows was in this dimension, it’ll be nice to see them.

“I am lost in an unfamiliar land, so I merely wish to look around and get to know the place.” and maybe find his friends.

There was a smile that was forming on the Pharaoh’s lips. For being a foreigner, Atem could not only sense a great amount of good within this young man, but also… A magical sense of warmth.

“You have quite of a presences surrounding you. Like of a warm and welcoming fire that keep others from a cold night and protect them from unwanted predators.” He seem to muse out loud.

“If this is your first time here in Egypt’s sands, than allow me to pay you my gratitude by offering you a place to stay and rest at my home.”

Atem was an excellent judge of character, and after seeing the foreigner help detained a criminal, he could tell that this young man had good intentions within his heart.

“May I know who you are so I can address you properly…?”

This isn’t the first time some people doubted his age. They really wouldn’t believe he’s like the 2nd oldest(excluding Sieghart) in the Grand Chase! He was even teased with having a cute baby face.

His hand was near his mouth in a fist as he coughed a few times. Since everytime, a landing in different dimension was never pleasant for him. This time he had his face plant right onto the sand. Nobody liked sand in their face, or when it entered your mouth.

A really B A D thing. Why else would they spit him out in the worst way possible? Couldn’t he just be on his feet, and not be tossed out like a sack patatos? Or at least N O T land in situations where he literally was at a hoard of monsters. 

Maybe the universe just hates him. 

As Jin patted the dust off his clothes, he looked around to see if he really was stuck in a desert with no town in sight. Forced to squint under the scorching heat, his amber eyes managed to pick up a kingdom from afar. Maybe it’ll take 30 minutes to reach there by foot.

The frustration was clear in the Pharaoh’s eyes. They had detained the Thief King within the palace walls… Only for him to outwit his captors and escape from them once more.

And not only that, if they did not capture him this time around… He’ll be gone again for who knows how long…

But it seem the Gods’ were on the their side today.

For right in front of them, the Thief King had ran into a stranger, foreigner maybe, who tried to use him to put some distance between the Pharaoh’s men. However, it seemed to do the opposite. The stranger had grabbed the Thief King, twisted his arm behind back and brought him down to the ground, detaining him.

“Don’t let him get away!” He order the command, his soldiers quickly surrounding the stranger and helping him arrest the Thief King, keeping him down on the ground before they put shackles on him.

The Pharaoh had pulled up on his horse, making sure to keep his distance from the Thief King. The large upside-down pyramid pendant with the Eye of Wedjat gave a warming pulse. The Thief King was no one to underestimate…

“Take him to the underground dungeons. Make sure he’s under watching at all times until we are ready for Trial.”

With some “Yes, my Pharaoh!” the soldiers took the thief and began to take him back to the palace where he would be detained once more. Atem then turned his attention onto the stranger, his hard look soften only just a bit to show how appreciative he is for his help.

“I appreciate your assistance in capturing that criminal. He has been wanted by the Kingdom for years now and kept slipping from our grasps. Please, is there anything I can do to show you my gratitude?”

Oh thank the deities for having a kingdom not far from here. He really didn’t want to wander aimlessly in a desert in this scorching H E A T. The redhead took out a cloak from his spacial bag, also thankful that this thing was also still working and still had his supplies in it. As he wore the cloak and put the hood over his head, he felt a bit better being shield from the burning sun.

Now he sets foot towards the kingdom. 

Though during his journey, it’ll be a lie if he said he wasn’t paranoid. Jin didn’t want to enter a random kingdom and suddenly be detained on the spot, just because he was a wandering stranger. More importantly, he doesn’t like the feeling in this dimension. He sensed a strong and strange entity that existed. It was either sinister or monstrous, maybe both.

As he stepped into the kingdom, he was of course checked by the guards first before entering. They didn’t find him suspicious or anything, so he was let through easily. What greeted him.... was actually normal. Aside from the Egyptian setting, the kingdom seemed like a fine place. Just as he was wandering around and was feeling amazed, his thoughts were cut short when he heard a shrill scream.

‘‘He’s getting away!’‘

Jin blinked, as he stopped walking and was confused for a moment. He was trying to process the situation and saw a man who was running towards him, probably the guy he had just heard someone scream about. It seems the person had the intention of ramming into him, and maybe throw him down as a distraction, he saw the wicked glint in those eyes.

So like hell he would let that happen. With quick reflexes, Jin actually stepped to the side and quickly grabbed the man’s wrist. Only to twist it behind his back and push the thief onto ground, detaining him on the spot. It was obvious from his move, that he was an experienced fighter. Well he was a master martial artist.

He noticed something was wrong very quick though. Something was wrong about this man, there seemed to be some kind of sinister energy coming from him. Is this guy possessed? 

While deep in thoughts and having suspicions, little did he know that he was not far from a Pharaoh that was around there.

The words he had told to his sweet idol and childhood sweetheart. It replayed back in his mind like an echo, a reminder he had made a promise to someone. A reminder that he has to keep fighting and live through this messed up world he had just landed in.

A world where V A M P I R E S existed.

That’s right, vampires. He had met demons of different races, witches and variety types monsters... and now vampires? It really was not such a good situation for him. With his body still in a state of being unstable and rather groggy, he barely made out from vampires that had somewhat kidnapped him.

Stupid dimensional portal. The sudden leap into dimensions had took a great strain on his body, it was already a good thing he didn’t die under the spacial vortex. Ah but at this rate, he might die of getting sucked dry. He was unconscious for just awhile and these hooligans had brought his knocked out ass back to their base or whatever creepy abandoned.... church? 

Maybe it was a good thing they didn’t suck him dry when he was unconscious. 

He overhead being an O F F E R I N G, right at the moment when he had sobered up from an unstable dimensional leap. Guess that’s why he’s still alive. But that doesn’t mean he’s gonna be some vampire chow for whatever freak they were serving. So without hesitation, after playing dead for a few minutes and maybe hear whatever information he could get... he sprang into action.

Thanks to being a master martial artist, he had managed to escape a crisis. Even going as far to change his clothes with one of the people who kidnapped him, he needed to blend in and get out of his battle attire. 

Now back to the present as he was still panting and running away from the group of angry vampires chasing after him. There was only two left, while the rest had their head smashed against the wall hard enough to crush their skulls, only to turn into sand later.

He really should wash his hands later. Who knows if vampire sand was.... contaminated.

So far, he couldn’t see them after turning and twisting and turning into alleys in this town. But that didn’t mean they stopped chasing after him. When turning to another alley, his reflex got him to instantly stop from literally crashing into a girl that was in his way.

‘‘Shit- Sorry.’‘ he apologized. About to turn continue his escape only to find he has been cornered. The two vampires blocked the path ahead and behind him, having being surrounded. He now had to protect himself AND a poor little girl who had been dragged into this mess.`

One of them lunged at him, this made the redhead narrow his eyes and put the girl behind him quickly. He didn’t hesitate to grab the face and simply slam the vampire onto the ground. The impact left a huge dent with cracks spreading out. 

Glad to know he still has his inhuman strength in this world.

The other vampire? He ran away with a tail between his legs the moment he saw a human had taken his group out easily. Bare-handed. Seeing this, Jin’s hostile look was immediately relieved as he sighed out. The jet lag is beginning to take over again from dimension leaping, so the redhead didn’t hesitate to just lean against the wall and had his butt sit right on the ground. Glancing to the girl, he had to check if she was okay first.

‘‘I’m sorry, that must have scared you. Are you alright?’‘

He was tired. The migraine still hasn’t left his head and continued to pound his brain like drums, his whole body ached but more importantly.... he was hungry. But he really should check if the girl was traumatized. Because he sure was traumatized for now.
