I have been quiet for a while, but in my absence I have learned a lot and taken on a project that I am officially in love with. although this isn鈥檛 tron, it is retro in a different way. As my style evolved, I have found a fantasy vibe that carries an air of nostalgia. Feedback from a few discord communities has described my new resource pack as reminding them of Nintendo 64 and ps2 games. I am pulling influences from Oblivion, Diablo 2, and Skyrim. Thus, nostalgia has become a theme, both for the resource pack and for the modpack I am gradually putting together. Say hello to some early looks at what I call EbonCraft.

Useful information. Person should write a book called "Minecraft for Idiots"
i keep seeing people say theyre afraid of going caving because of the new update, but dont worry!! the update includes a lot of new shit that makes caving easier and safer:
first; light levels/mob spawn rate. previously mobs could spawn in any area with any light level less than or equal to seven. in 1.18 the light level required for hostile mobs to spawn is zero!! now you may be wondering; manlet, what about the mob spawn cap? its not changing so where do the hostile mobs go? thats what the extended y level is for, dumbass. the caves are well lit by default due to the addition of glow lichen (and just the entire lush caves biome) so itll be very easy to avoid hostile mobs in caves, which makes the update more fun!
second; the deep dark. dont fucken worry about the deep dark, dude. youre not just gonna stumble across it, and if you do then there are definitely ways to protect yourself from the warden.
build four blocks up before looting chests. chests make a noise that will alert the warden of your presence, but they stand at four blocks tall. speedrunners may be familiar with the trick to kill iron golems without getting hit, and its the same for the warden.
keep subtitles on while caving. this is a no brainer
take snowballs or eggs with you into caves. throwing them will lead the warden in the direction that you threw it if it hasnt already been aggro'd by you
CROUCH ANYTIME UR IN THE DEEP DARK DEAR GOD
if youre planning a trip to the deep dark and you have the necessary materials then bring slowfall pots and milk. slowfall pots to ensure you dont take fall damage that could alert the warden and milk to negate the darkness effect.
the caves were made to be explored, not to be afraid of! its not like theyre anything like caves in real life that are near impossible to escape if youve lost your way and makes you unable to trust your own instincts and senses! they havent added that yet!

Never before have I been so in awe and intimidated by the nether. With these pack designs I've managed to make it darker, more alien, and yet more beautiful. The stems on the trees of both crimson and warped biomes pulsate.

Along with GlitchWave, which is now being continued on Java edition, is another work I've had ideas for and am now putting into pixels.
This one is designed for more horror and realism and comes with its own hints of world lore to spice things up and make it fun and interesting.
The golems chest is sporting a health indicator with does reduce in number of dots as well as going from green to yellow to orange, and finally red.
I do eventually plan on replacing sound files to make the golem sound like a robot as well as making the creeper beep when it's about to explode.

Java is better than Bedrock. Hear me out . . .
Yes, Bedrock allows for cross platform gameplay, but this is where the benefits end.
Java allows you to activate and deactivate resource packs without requiring you to save and quit the world.
Java redstone mechanics work differently, tho this isn't a factor in which is better than the other, it is a noteworthy difference nonetheless and there is far too much for me to cover in this post to support the claim.
Creating Java resource packs requires fewer steps than Bedrock. Examples being: Bedrock requires you to zip the files and convert them to texture.mcpack files and then has to be imported.
Every time you update the pack, you have to do this and delete the old pack. You also have to delete and create a new world or the changes won't appear.
All you have to do with Java is put the texture pack files where they need to be, save the changes on the images and open the same world you were testing it on to begin with.
I also ran into the fact that image files were missing from bedrock that Java had immediately available, allowing me to edit them.
Furthermore, I ran the risk of breaking a texture when i edited it in bedrock. This never happened with Java and by this point it was the final straw.

I'm back, ladies, gentlemen, and all in between. Due to technical difficulties, I got limited, no longer have access to my image files for the original project, and am now working with bedrock. The good news is what I do here will be translated to Java thanks to a friend or two who have access to it.
GlitchWave is not finished and has not been abandoned.

I love this. A good example that gender does not define personality in character creation. Good job sansurichin. 馃槉

Daytime be feeling the same way honestly. in trying to enhance some features, it seems to sacrifice a lot of what makes this pack Retro. But that鈥檚 my opinion. I鈥檒l have more comparison images in the future.

I straightened the pickaxe head and here I鈥檓 testing it out on MassiveCraft faction survival server. Also, I wanted to mention that skeletons only hold bows upside down in bedrock edition. You won鈥檛 have to worry about that messing up your experience in java.
