Kirishima’s favorite things of “tough guys” is 硬派なもの, which literally means “manly things” but the もの part of this implies “guys.” If you’re curious about the characteristics of a “manly guy” according to a Japanese lifestyle website, here’s a translation:
Characteristics of “tough guys”:
-Treat their partners with respect and are very chivalrous
-Hard on the outside but soft on the inside, with a gentle heart
-Takes his friends seriously
-Always keeps his promises
-Very strict on himself and stoic
-Somewhat narcissistic and full of himself at times
-Never cheats on their lovers, is very devoted to their significant other
-Doesn’t like people who try to hide things from them
-Not good at dealing with complex emotions
-Silent and quiet at times
-Very serious with work
-Doesn’t take shit from anyone
-Always focused on the job
-Sometimes passive
-Will do anything to reach their goals
-Views himself as the boss
-Marries early
-Won’t speak his mind until asked
-Although he looks hard to approach on the outside, he’s actually very kind inside
-Does not talk excessively and gets to the point
-Protects those he loves
-Charm points is his extreme devotion to his lover
-Not exactly the lovey dovey type or a good texter
-Willing to help out his lover overcome problems
-Trustworthy
-Hates liars, hates backstabbers
-Ideal lover
T/N: The reason I chose to translate 硬派なもの as “tough/manly guys” instead of “manly things” is because the もの in this just does not refer to things but people instead. If you enter that in google in verbatim, you get a bunch of search results for dating sites on what are the qualities of a tough guy or a tough girl. So, rather than “manly things,” it could be translated more generically to “manly people,” but for Kirishima and his obsession with manliness, I’m leaning towards “tough guys.” Tell me that these characteristics doesn’t sound like Bakugou lol

i know i said i wanna write some hq stuff but this just S c r e a m e d kiribaku
***********
The pallor of cold skin touching his, gentle touches on his cheek, skittering, a sense of frailty in the air. He wants to touch back, to feel the warmth hidden beneath the frozen fingertips, to let his lips trace along the set jaw of the man in front of him, but he decides against it, forcing himself to remain still. A single touch, a mere movement, and this may end.
He might never see Katsuki again.
A hand reached up, twirled a lock of his damp red hair.
“You missed me.”
Katsuki stated it as fact, never bothering to even look to Kirishima’s eyes for confirmation.
Kirishima gulped. He tried to move, yet his body was frozen solid on the chair he sat, his legs bound together, the rope on his hands burning with each movement.
When no reply came from his lips, Bakugou laughed, a solemn bitter sound.
He looked up to Kirishima, his eyes golden, hiding a menace.
“Not gonna fight back? Tell me to come back to you, join the good side?”
He looked for something, anything in Bakugou’s eyes, any indication that he wanted to return, that he wanted to leave this nightmare behind him.
That he’d wanted to leave the league of villains.
Yet his face remained set, his lips a firm straight line, the bruises beneath his eyes evident from sleepless nights, his body littered with scars, some fresh, some old.
“Bakugou…what did they do to you?”
That seemed to tick Katsuki off.
He got up from across Kirishima, paced around the cramped bar room.
His back turned to Kirishima, his arms clenched onto the bar bench, he could see his muscles clench and unclench, uncertainty hinting in his movements.
“Ba-Katsuki please. You can come back. You can always come back. We all miss you, want you to return to us-“ he hesitated before continuing. “I miss you. So much.”
A dry laugh escaped Bakugou, his arms dropping from the bar, turning back to Kirishima.
He still had his old hero uniform, only now it was torn, the gauntlets painted dark maroon, glycerine pooling to his wrists, dripping down to the floor.
“It’s too late.” Was all Katsuki could muster.
“It’s never too late”, Kirishima retorted. He shuffled against his bonds, bringing his hands up to try and reach Katsuki who leaned away. “It’s not too late, I’ll never let it be too late, Katsuki please-“
He shut his eyes, fighting against the burn of tears.
“Katsuki I need you, I can’t-I can’t do this without you. I’m lost.”
He let his eyes open, slowly, allowing the vulnerability to show on his face, on his quivering lips, on the tears streaking his cheeks.
“Are you lost without me too?”
This gave Bakugou pause. He looked down, shielding his expression from Kirishima’s caustic gaze, and without a sound, took two wide steps towards Kirishima, bending down at the waist until his face was dangerously close to Kirishima’s face.
He wanted to lean up, to kiss the pain off of Bakugou’s face, to hold him, tell him it’s okay, it’s okay, you don’t need to do this, just come back, come home-home to me.
There’s a sudden flame, a burn to his wrists that’s gone as soon as it came, the shackled rope falling from his hands to his lap.
“You can take care of the ones on your legs. I know your quirk could’ve cut through these anytime anyway.”
Kirishima tentatively let his quirk gather to his ankles, the jagged edges cutting the rope in half.
He stood, extending an arm to Katsuki who still refused to meet his gaze.
“No.”
He stopped, letting his arm hover inches away from Katsuki.
“No Ei. Just..just go.”
Kirishima shook his head.
“No. Not without you.”
Katsuki clicked his tongue, gripping at Kirishima’s arm and tugging him back.
“God dammit just go! Leave! Before they get here just-just go, please.”
“Come with me!” He pushed against Bakugou’s grip, bringing his palms to cup Katsuki’s face, forcing him to look him in the eye, seeing the gleam of unshed tears in his face.
“Please, please Katsuki, just come back to me, please-“
Katsuki shook his head, letting the tears pool to his eyes.
He tugged at the nape of Kirishima’s neck, pulling him forward for a clashing kiss.
He pushed Kirishima back one last time, using the advantage of catching him off guard.
“Go.”
Kirishima could’t retort. As soon as he opened his mouth, the sound of loud footsteps clashing on wood came outside the bar’s doors, followed by the rattle of the locked door.
He couldn’t take that many villains alone. He couldn’t risk Katsuki’s safety.
“I’ll come back. I’ll always come back for you.”
“I know.”
And with that he was gone, Kirishima’s feet insinctively leading him towards the window, leaping out and into the quiet night streets.
Katsuki’s gaze followed him until he disappeared into the shadows, wiping at the tears that dared escaped his eyes.
“I’m lost”, he whispered, “I’m lost without you too.”
******
i sometimes wonder what’d happen if no one had found Katsuki when he was abducted and it Hurts real good :-))
