RED SMOKE UPDATE:

Hi! I've done a lot of work on this comic for the past few months, that includes concept art, skeches of pages and character designs that I haven't shown off here yet. As much as I've been tempted for a while now to just start pumping out pages, this month I'm gonna be busy with a comic project due for a university class. It's gonna probably take up a good chunk of my time, but it's also gonna be a great opportunity for me to actually work on a comic. I'm hoping to get the first pages of Red Smoke out somewhere near the beggining of summer. There probably won't be much content on this blog inbetween that, so see you then!

LAMBPAW

Previous name: Lambkit

Pronouns: She/Her

Gender/Sexuality: She-cat, Aroace

Age: ~6 moons

Affiliations: Wishclan

Lambpaw is a sweet, young she-cat training to be Wishclan's next medicine cat. Throughout all of her kithood, this is what she has wanted the most. She dreams of helping others, whether that be through healing or interpreting the word of Starclan, though sometimes struggles with the weight of her position. Many cats would describe her as sensitive. Handling sudden, stressful situations is very hard for her and she enjoys falling into routines. This also translates into her interpersonal life, as she dislikes conflict and tends to be easily upset. However, it's hard to deny that just like her brother, Lambpaw has a good heart. The kindness she shows to others is something very admirable in a future medicine cat.

Ryepaw

Previous name: Ryekit

Pronouns: He/him

Gender/Sexuality: Tom, Ambiguous

Age: ~6 moons

Affiliations: Wishclan

Ryepaw is nothing if not determined. Though he's been apprenticed rather recently he already decided he'll be the best warrior Wishclan has seen and has been working towards that every day of his life. Because of this, he cannot help but scoff seeing his peers be preocupied with anything else. Other apprentices describe Ryepaw as intense and moody, older cats label him as a bit difficult. It's not unusual for him to be set off by small things, turning from perfectly content to very upset very quickly. His desire for greatness often leads to him butting heads with others. Even then, his dedication and hard work are admirable as are his intentions, wanting to give the best to the clan he holds so dear

Rampaw

Previous name: Ramkit

Pronouns: He/him

Gender/Sexuality: Tom, Gay 

Age: ~6 moons

Affiliations: Wishclan

Loud, determined, strong, dumb as a rock: these are all words that other apprentices have used to describe Rampaw. His presence is felt anywhere he goes, not only through his voice but also his big, fluffy paws. The tom doesn’t take things too seriously and has a chill attitude, which sometimes clashes with his aspirations to be a great future warrior. It’s not too unusual for him to sleep through his morning patrol or get too caught up playing with Stingpaw to notice his mentor calling for him. Just like her, he can be a bit of a troublemaker. Even though he’s not the smartest cat around, you shouldn’t underestimate him: he’s not a softie and he can put up a fight. Rampaw tends to show his fondness for other cats through brawl and friendly teasing, though there are some exceptions. His more gentle side leads him to have a strong sense of justice, he’s not afraid to stand up for those who can’t defend themselves.

Stingpaw

Previous name: Stingkit 

Pronouns: She/her

Gender/Sexuality: She-cat, ambiguous 

Age: ~7 moons

Affiliations: Wishclan

Stingpaw is someone other Wishclan cats should watch out for, too smart for her own good and a schemer. She loves sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong and dragging her friends along for the ride. Some clanmates think of her as a nuisance, while others admire her cleverness. Now that she has had her ceremony (and after an unfortunate kithood injury) it seems she mellowed out, but only because of her newly gained apprentice privileges. As soon as she finds out the warriors can do something she’s not allowed to, she won’t let it go. She’s witty, fast-thinking and often brutally honest, especially when someone annoys her. Though Stingpaw sometimes comes off as a bit mean, she’s actually rather friendly once you get to know her. Her long-lasting friendship with her fellow apprentice Rampaw is a testament to that.

WOLFSTAR

Gender/Sexuality: She-cat, lesbian

Age: ~55 moons

Affiliations: Moonclan

The stern and loyal leader of Moonclan. Wolfstar is a cat with a tough demeanor who would never let a stranger get the better of her, but tends to soften around her loved ones. When with those she trust she becomes much more layed-back and even playful, especially a certain young kittypet. Many of her clanmates would be suprised to see how gentle and friendly she has become with Josie, whom she ocasionally visits. She has grown incredibly fond of them, wishing to to take them back to Moonclan and under her wing.

HAZELPAW 

Previous names: Josie

Pronouns: They/Them

Gender/Sexuality: None, Ambiguous

Age: ~6 moons

Affiliations: Kittypet (previously), Wishclan

From a simple kittypet to an apprentice of Wishclan, more has changed in Hazelpaw’s recent times than just the name. Even then, they try to make every new day a good one. Hazelpaw is a cheerful, friendly cat who’s curiosity for the world has lead them to the clans. Their sociable personality and youthful, silly demeanor make them easily likeable. They have a bit of a rowdy side to them and won’t hold down a good challenge, even if they're scared. 

Due to their age, Hazelpaw tends to be pretty naive, often believing they know better or more than they actually do. They have a lot of love for those they call friends and have a habit of picking up on their quirks.
