**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2023.12.29 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 46 with Yoona
Staff: You tried making mandu bags* this time! Please share why you chose the designs and colors for both bags you made. *literally “dumpling” bag, a bag knitted in chunky yarn
Yoona: For both bags, I tried to have designs and colors that suit winter. Although I say that, I just had them in colors where you wouldn’t easily notice if they got dirty (laughs). So, you can carry the bags I made today around just fine!  Actually, I didn’t decide which one would be the gift at first, and thought of giving away the one that was better. That’s why the navy bag that’s better put together is the gift (laughs). I made the gray one first, so a few holes where I fretted a bit…(laughs). I’ll use the gray one myself! I’ll bring it home and try to match it with a fashion style. Also, both bags are shoulder bags, but that reflects my personal preferences. I like to have both of my hands free, so I thought that maybe everyone else feels that way, too. Sorry for not making fashion the priority (laughs). They are very practical bags.
Staff: How was the activity?
Yoona: Mandu bags have gotten popular recently and I actually have one (laughs). It’s a bit small, but I use it a lot so I thought to try making one myself, but it’s harder than I thought it would be. I could empty my mind of thoughts and concentrate, so I could see myself getting hooked on it, to the point where I want to buy the yarn and make it again later! It’s similar to knitting and easy to make, so I think it’ll be great as a present. The instructor took the lead when I was making the gray bag, but it was my first time so I didn’t have a lot of leeway. For the navy bag, I got used to it a bit and made it while being careful not to make mistakes. That’s why the bag for the gift has no holes (laughs). Come to think of it, Yuri’s nickname for her fans is mandu, so it might be a good idea to give her a mandu bag (laughs).
Staff: Please share what you were the most particular about during the creation process.
Yoona: I concentrated a lot to not mess up the knitting sequence! I discovered a few mistakes when making the gray bag… Also, I made them while putting a lot of force in my fingers so that the yarn wouldn’t be loose, and because of that my fingers trembled a bit in the later half (laughs). But I was happy when the instructor praised how fast I was knitting! If I wasn’t trying to put so much force in my fingers, I could have made them even faster! (laughs).
Staff: How many points out of 100 would you give your work? Please share a reason for your scoring as well.
Yoona: First, I guess I would give myself 85 points for the gray one? It’s not perfect, but it turned out better than I expected. It’s nice to see the outcome appearing before my eyes the more I spent time on it. I wanted to give it a high score when I thought about the feeling of achievement when I finished it! Also, the gift bag is 90 points! I was careful not to make mistakes while making it, so it scores higher than the gray one (laughs).
(Staff: If you were to make something different with this type of yarn, what would you make?) I want to make a cushion for dogs! My dog is white, so a color where the white fur wouldn’t stand out a lot would be nice (laughs). I would have to use a yarn that’s a little brighter.
Staff: If you were to go out using the mandu bags you made today, what kind of fashion would you like to match them with? Please share why as well.
Yoona: My outfit today is pink, so both colors I chose today would match it. So I would like to match them with a pink style. The bags have a cute impression, so I guess they would suit most kinds of simple fashion. They also seem like they would match monotone and pastel tone clothes!
Staff: I heard that mandu bags are currently a popular fashion item in Korea, but do you have a fashion item that’s caught your attention?
Yoona: Scarves are my favorite item for winter. They’re also easily fashionable and great for keeping you warm when wrapped around your neck. However, last year I had a lot of photoshoots and I couldn’t enjoy scarves as much as I would have liked, so I’d like to enjoy them this winter. With that intention, I checked how many scarves I owned and I have more than I thought (laughs). I feel like I have scarves in all colors. This winter I want to use them all (laughs).
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Yoona: I’ve been taking breaks while doing schedules such as filming CMs!  I’m also making music together with Epitone Project, and my fanmeet tour starts in January, so I’ve been preparing for that. I’ll be able to meet fans both in Korea and abroad after such a long time, so I’m really looking forward to it.  On my days off, I lazily stay at home all day, eat delicious food, and recharge!
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in December. Looking back on the year, what was the most memorable event for you? Please share the episode as well.
Yoona: It would have to be starring in the drama, “King the Land”. That was the biggest event for me this year. I’m really thankful that so many people watched it. I talked about my bucket list in a previous interview, and the first episode of “King the Land” was just airing at that time. Having that drama reach #1 globally was in my list and that’s my most memorable event this year since it actually happened!
Staff: December is the time for opportunities to go to Christmas and New Year’s parties. Do you have a must have fashion item for them?
Yoona: I guess a warm and fashionable coat. Keeping warm is important, but I can't give up on fashion. Also, I can't leave out jewelry for parties. Simple but fashionable jewelry would be earrings. Ones that casually shine would be nice. So wearing those kinds of earrings with a simple sweater would be great as well.
Staff: While filming for a drama or movie, are there any moments during the filming when your real life and story are linked, or when you feel that your character is similar to yourself? Please share the episode as well.
Yoona: I feel a sense of familiarity with the people who actually work in the jobs I play, or in other words my level of understanding increases. For example, for “King the Land”, I played a hotelier and when I actually met one later, I approached and talked to them without thinking (laughs). When I’m in a hotel, I feel like I know everything like… This time is probably break time, their break room is over there, their cleaning room is probably over there. Just my own sense of familiarity (laughs). I also think it’s rather curious.
Staff: Please share your goals for the new year and your reasons for those goals.
Yoona: I haven’t been able to meet the fans for a long time, but I’ll finally be able to next year and think it will be great to make wonderful memories for all the time the fans have been waiting for. Also, the movie that finished filming last year, “Date at 2 O'Clock”, will be released soon! Next year I want to rest well while trying out new movies and dramas!
Staff: Finally a message for SONE JAPAN.
Yoona: I haven’t been able to meet you after so long, but we’ll see each other at the fan meeting next year! I’m happy to finally have the chance to go to Japan in this way. I’m preparing a lot for it so please wait just a bit longer! Let’s meet next year!

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2023.10.31 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 45 with Taeyeon
Staff: You tried making neon signs this time! You thought of the design beforehand, but please share the motifs and the reasons for your design.
Taeyeon: I made it as a present for my mother. She loves drinking and is great at cooking, so sometimes inviting her friends over to have a drink is a fun way to spend her time. That’s why the sign I made is called “Heezakaya”, a mix of my mother’s name “Hee-ja” and “izakaya”*! I think my mother will definitely be overjoyed with this as a present! *TL note: Japanese style bar I don’t drink, so when it’s me and her, I can only be her side dish (laughs). I’m the side dish who’s always talking (laughs).  As for the design, I had two ideas and showed them to my mother beforehand, but she took too long to decide so in the end I went with the design I liked. But when I started working on it, she got back to me and liked the idea that I didn’t choose… (laughs) Can’t be helped!
Staff: How was the activity?
Taeyeon: Neon signs are something that you often see everyday, but this kind of experience was a first for me. It was really fun, but it was actually a bit scary at first. The neon signs I’ve seen are large billboards, so I was a bit uneasy if this could be a dangerous task. Like it’d be scary to get an electric shock (laughs). When I was a kid, I touched a neon sign and felt a shock. But I was relieved that the ones for today use batteries (laughs). They were so cute, all miniature like. If I get used to the work process, I think it would be a perfect present for someone! There’s a lot of work to bend it into the design and adjusting the amount of strength is important, but I believe that someone who is good with their hands will get accustomed to it quickly!
Staff: Please share what you were the most particular about during the creation process.
Taeyeon: I was particular with the color choice. I wanted the color for the name to be vividly seen. I wanted the design to match wine, so I wanted to have it be wine colored, but there was a limited selection of colors, so I went with a cute pink. I think it really suits my mother’s name and it’s a color that I really thought carefully over.  Also, I got help from the instructor while working on it, but making the characters was difficult due to the many bent parts. There’s wire inside the neon tubes, so bending it needed more strength than I thought. I thought that it was easy to make once I got used to where to bend the tube and calculate what length tube is needed for which part.  Finally, the glue easily got on my fingers, so I worked while watching out for that! It was instant glue so it would immediately stick (laughs).
Staff: How many points out of 100 would you give your work? Please share a reason for your scoring as well.
Taeyeon: Around 40 points. It was my first time making it and I’m hard on myself (laughs).
Staff: If you were to display the neon sign you made, which room would you recommend? Please share why as well.
Taeyeon: “Senses” is a keyword for neon lights. Many photos on social media have a very emotive atmosphere. It also functions as a light for atmosphere, so it might be great to display it in a room with a vintage feel. If I was to make a neon light for my own room, I’d design a symbolic picture rather than characters. I think I would use it as a light at night, so I want to have it as a moon or star! A night sky that you can enjoy in your room would be amazing, right? ^^
Staff: Your solo concert in 3 years, “TAEYEON CONCERT -The ODD Of LOVE” was held in Tokyo. It’s been 4 years since your solo concert in Japan, but how was it looking back?
Taeyeon: The Japan concerts had great acoustics and my condition was very good. I’m the type to be easily influenced by my surroundings, so I was satisfied with everything in such a splendid environment. The staff were very kind and attentive, and in my best condition and the best environment… That was the most memorable. It was my first Japanese concert in a long time, and without a doubt the concerts held a lot of meaning for me even if I only had one concert, but I was so very thankful that my second concert date was sold out. The band was really great too… Ah, come to think of it, the Japanese fans changed a bit. They were a bit more lively, or rather, more proactive (laughs). Before they were really quiet! I’m happy that they listened so earnestly, but I was delighted that I could really hear their cheers this time. They called out my name and I was happy that they seemed to enjoy the loose atmosphere♡
Staff: You went to 8 cities in Asia for your solo concert. Please share if you have a memorable episode from your Asia tour.
Taeyeon: I just ate bananas (laughs). The setlist for this tour really required endurance, but it was hard since I didn't eat a lot and lacked stamina. I had to keep replenishing my energy and bananas especially helped. Eating just one really filled me up, so they were indispensable during the tour! I ate bananas from a lot of countries (laughs). I of course ate bananas in Japan! They were delicious!
Staff: Traveling for long hours during your tour would make it easy to get tired, but please share if you have a routine for relieving fatigue.
Taeyeon: I take frequent half body baths. Rather than taking them before bed, I usually do it right after I wake up in the morning. I like starting my day with them. I also do a lot of self massage. Loosening up my neck muscles by gently massaging them can relax my vocal cords. I reduce mental stress by watching movies and dramas on my tablet. Ah, in Japan I really like to go to the convenience stores at night. I usually buy gummies (laughs).
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in October. In Japan, autumn is a season with various appeals such as for art, food, and sports. What kind of season is autumn for you?
Taeyeon: Recently there are many hot days and autumn is so short that it can’t even be called autumn. I wonder what kind of season it is. It’s a season for the senses, so I guess it’s a season to listen to my songs (laughs). I have a lot of songs with bands and many of the lyrics are also emotional, so I think they really suit the cooler season. Autumn is really short, so it’s important to listen to it during this time!
Staff: Finally a message for SONE JAPAN!
Taeyeon: This tour reminded me that you’ve always supported me, so thank you so much. Please invite me! So that I can perform in Japan again! I want to see you all!

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2023.08.31 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 44 with Yuri
Staff: You tried weaving wicker this time! Please share the concept and motifs for the pieces you made.
Yuri: One is an accessory case that anyone could use. It’s something that I tried to make as a present for any SONE, regardless of gender. I tried to express wanting to deliver happiness with the smiling sunflowers!
The other piece is a case for water bottles, drinks, and the like. I also want to give this to SONE as a present. I want to give away everything (laughs). I’d be so happy if the receivers would use what I made a lot.
Staff: How was the activity?
Yuri: My fingers really hurt (laughs). I didn’t know that it would be such a challenging task. Since the material was pretty stiff, I used it after soaking it in water, but even then it was hard. Putting it together was like knitting and braiding. Hyoyeon likes knitting. When I was in elementary school, I liked to make things during art class, but that faded away when I became an adult. I think it’s my personality, but I get tired of repeating the same task over and over. But I really like to draw. The fun part is expressing [myself] with color!
Weaving wicker… Today I understood why the prices for it are so high (laughs). It really takes so much effort to make and it’s carefully crafted. I’d be so satisfied if I made something like a wonderful wicker light by myself and hung it up at home. The members enjoy traveling to Southeast Asia, so I would like them to try it out at least once. Personally, I was happy to be praised by the instructor today. I might have talent (laughs); my work speed kept on increasing as I did it. At first, I didn’t have any knowledge regarding the structure of weaving and had some troubles, but it was enjoyable and wasn’t too difficult once I got a bit used to it! The water bottle holder had a bit more complex construction than the accessory case, but I was able to enjoy making it without it feeling difficult or challenging.
Staff: Please share what you were the most particular about during the creation process.
Yuri: I think the most important point for weaving wicker is balance. I set up the stakes first, but I was careful to make sure that they were straight. If the base isn’t steady then it’ll fall apart, so I pulled on them while working and checked on the stakes often.
Staff: How many points out of 100 would you give your work? Please share a reason for your scoring as well.
Yuri: The instructor helped me, but it is also my first time… I might give both 80 points. No, I want to give them 90 points! (laughs) It’s just a score as a beginner and not on the basis of how perfect it is. It’s a score that represents my personal satisfaction!
Staff: Items made out of wicker are popular interior items, but do you have any preferences for interior [design]? Yuri: I like cozy atmospheres, so I like interiors that have snug atmospheres that I can relax in. I choose tones that are calming like beige or wood. My room right now has the main tones of white and wood. I’ve made my room all pink like a princess’ room long ago, but now there’s zero pink. I expelled all the pink from my room when I was around 23 (laughs).
I have my own bag made out of wicker. I bring it when I go to have fun with water in summer.
I’m interested in lighting, so one day I’d like to buy a light made out of wicker. I especially like indirect lighting and often go to dedicated stores for lighting. I believe that lighting can influence the overall mood of a home.
Staff: Please share your recent happenings. (This interview occurred in July)
Yuri: In Korea, both “The Genius Paik” and “The Zone: Survival Mission 2” just recently released so I’ve been a bit busy with those activities. Also, my fan meeting tour starts in Seoul in July, so I’m busy with that as well. The other day I went to the Philippines for my fanmeet, and I’ll be going to Bangkok and Taiwan, too. I think I’ll be able to go to Japan as well!
Staff: You’re currently in the middle of your fan meeting tour in Asia, but has there been a memorable episode so far?
Yuri: I really just thought about what would make all the fans happy. I really agonized over the set list as well. However, I have experience from being in SNSD (laughs). It’s been a long time since my last fan meeting, and it was so fun to think over what I’ll show to the fans. I also really enjoyed performing songs with a new arrangement. The solo performance I did from a 2010 concert got a new 2023 arrangement, and it was so much fun recording, singing, and performing it! It’s been a long time since I practiced performing, and it was actually relaxing since I’ve done it for so long. I’m so happy that the fans really enjoyed the event!
Staff: It’s been four years since your last fan meeting. Please share if there’s anything about SONE that has changed or remained the same since then.
Yuri: I don’t think they have changed one bit. Their cheers and support haven’t changed at all and it was actually refreshing. SONE have been with us for over 10 years, so there were many that came to see me after such a long time, and there were also those who have new family members as well. In Seoul, I was so happy that many fans came from abroad.
Staff: You often upload cooking videos on SNS, but is there a dish that you have recently been crazy about? Please share why as well. Or, please share if you have an original arrangement or other idea.
Yuri: I eat too much when traveling, so recently I’ve mainly been making food to maintain my figure (laughs). I like oatmeal, so I especially make dishes that use oatmeal. For example, rice porridge with oatmeal and tuna, or a rice bowl topped with egg that’s made with oatmeal. I say it’s my own style of cooking, but they’re actually recipes that I referenced from SNS and the like (laughs).
For my own original recipes that I’m currently into, there’s “chicken toast ssam”, or “chitossam” for short. I named it myself (laughs). (*”ssam” is Korean for wrap)
It’s chicken with bread topped with yuzu sauce, mayonnaise, and grated lemon zest. It’s really delicious with all my favorite flavors.
Staff: You’re so busy with events and drama appearances, but please share if you have any tips or secrets for balancing work and beauty.
Yuri: I try my best with working out. Also, I make an effort to balance work and my personal life. When I’m off, I eat what I want to eat, recover my energy by sleeping as much as I want, and then make a conscious effort to bring it all out when I’m working. But that’s really difficult, so I’m still working on perfecting it (laughs). And for beauty, it’s really important to relax, so I always take half body baths. I love taking them with the bath salts I bought in Japan.
Staff: Finally a message for SONE JAPAN!
Yuri: I really want to see you all! Also, it seems like I’ll be able to do that soon, so I’m really excited. I really want to talk to you all directly, but I try my very best even if I’m far away, so please cheer me on even if we’re apart. And let’s make fun memories together from now on!

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2023.06.30 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 43 with Hyoyeon
Staff: You tried making ceramics this time! Please share your reason for choosing ceramics and the concept for your work.
Hyoyeon: I tried out various activities with SONE NOTE LIVE up until now so I was really uncertain what I would do this time. And then I decided on ceramics! After actually trying it out, I thought it was a nice choice. I believe it was the best at bringing out the details out of all the other activities. (laughs) I wanted to try it out before. It would be great as a present too since whenever the receiver uses the bowl or plate they would think of me. I love Japan’s chawanmushi*, so I tried to make a chawanmushi bowl for SONE JAPAN today. Ah, of course I made one for myself, too. (laughs) It’s a rice bowl and I’m happy to make something special for myself. I plan to use it everyday.
*Translator Note: chawanmushi - savory steamed egg custard with assorted ingredients
Staff: How was the activity?
Hyoyeon: I haven’t touched clay since I was in elementary school, so I was a bit nervous before I started. Aren’t there a lot of scenes on TV and in the movies where the clay gets all limp if you use too much strength? So I wondered if I could do this kind of work well and lacked confidence, but it was so fun when I actually started doing it. Spinning the potter’s wheel was especially fun. It somewhat kind of feels similar to being a DJ, who needs to have a delicate touch when scratching records. DJing is quite a detailed operation as pressing the wrong button would change the sound. The feel of spinning the potter’s wheel was very light and comfortable. Adjusting the amount of water was also interesting. I surprisingly might have a talent [for this]! But it was a good thing I didn’t try to make a larger bowl~ (laughs)  Also, it was the most difficult to mix the colored powder with the clay. I had to add and then knead it in one by one. I thought that I might use a machine, but it was all by hand. (laughs) My hands hurt~ (laughs)
Staff: Please share what you were the most particular about during the creation process.
Hyoyeon: The color powder mixing process. The ceramic I made for myself had a base of yellow and green, with my favorite gray mixed in. The one for SONE’s present, I wanted to make it pink, but it was too bad there wasn’t a perfect pink for it. However, I added a lot of a color that was close to SONE pink! The color you can see here and there between in the pink is my favorite color ^^
Staff: If you were to give your work a score, would it decisively be a perfect 100? Please share a reason for your scoring as well.
Hyoyeon: The instructor helped me out but…(laughs) If I had to give it a score then 87 points! I thought 90 would be a bit high so I went with 87 points. (laughs) I guess instead of quality, I based it on satisfaction. It was about a 2 hour experience, but I got so into making the ceramics I forgot about time. It was so fun so I wanted to give it 87 points and I would like to try making them again! I want to make a full set for myself, such as rice bowls, soup bowls, and plates!
Staff: If you were to make one as a present for a member, what would you make and who would you give it to? Please share why as well!
Hyoyeon: It’s very time consuming so I might have it made directly. (laughs) I want to make and give the members a plate that is very thin that you have to take care when using it or it would break. I wonder if that’s mean. (laughs) I might not make it (laughs) For such a thin plate, I would give it to Yoona or Yuri. Yoona makes bread at home by herself by watching Youtube and the like. I’d like her to place and then eat the bread she makes on the plate. And then Yuri is very interested in cooking, and is very good at Korean and Western cuisine. If I give her a plate, she might cook for me!
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Hyoyeon: I want to meet SONE soon, so I’m trying my best to make music now. I’m really being thorough with making it so it’s taking time, but as it’s been one year since my last album, I’m fretting a bit. I’m preparing great performances along with music that I want to do, so please anticipate it. I went to Bali before working on my album and was able to relax and get a lot of inspiration there. I think that influence will be evident in my music.
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in June, the start of summer! Please share if you have any tricks for overcoming the summer heat!
Hyoyeon: For me, it’s more of enjoying the heat instead of overcoming it. I especially love going to the beach and one day I’d like to go to Okinawa. I heard that it’s “the Hawaii of Japan”, but I haven’t been there for some reason. Also, I want to go to Samcheok in Korea. It’s on Korea’s eastern coast and the ocean is so beautiful there. I want to go snorkeling! Taking the heat head on is my trick! However, I apply plenty of sunscreen! (laughs)
Staff: You share yourself by the ocean or pool on social media, but do you have a routine that you have to do when you go to the ocean?
Hyoyeon: I always see the sunset when I go to the ocean, so I’m always on the beach during the sunset. I also love eating corn, so I always have it when I go to the ocean. In particular, I wonder why the corn I have in southeast Asia is so good. I have it cooked with butter and sprinkled with a bit of salt and cheese powder, but I usually have too much of it and can’t eat dinner. (laughs)
Staff: Do you have a goal or something you’d like to try this summer?
Hyoyeon: Although I love the ocean, I’m not confident in swimming. I always thought that I should learn survival swimming. Rather than actual swimming, I want to learn how to be in the water and float without moving much. You get off the boat a bit out of reach from the snorkeling spot when snorkeling overseas because it’s dangerous at the spot itself due to having so many people. I can’t swim so I’m the only one that goes to the snorkeling spot by boat. Seeing everyone else smoothly swim there had me very envious.  I’ve learned in swimming class but I still don’t have the confidence. My goal this summer is to master survival swimming.
Staff: Finally a message for SONE JAPAN!
Hyoyeon: SONE JAPAN, I’ll be going to Japan with my new music soon, so please look forward to it! I’m always encouraged by your warm messages on social media and bubble. I want to see you all soon on stage as a DJ and as the singer Hyoyeon. I always say the same things, but even then I want to say them. Thank you so much for all your support!

Staff: You tried crafts and decorating a party room this time! Please share what parts you were particular about for this project.
Yoona: I tried to make a simple atmosphere instead of a showy and flashy image of a party.
Staff: Did you have a theme and image for the porcelain dish that you designed?
Yoona: I tried designing it with animal and classic flower stickers.
Staff: Please share your favorite points for your original tableware.
Yoona: It was a cute dish in the shape of a slice of bread, so I really liked how it was cute no matter what stickers I put on it.
Staff: What kind of dishes do you want to arrange on your original tableware?
Yoona: I think dessert would be great!
Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have?
Yoona: I’d like to hold a party with simple dishes and ambient lighting for easy conversation.
Staff: You’ve tried many things for SONE NOTE LIVE, but what was the most memorable experience for you? And why?
Yoona: The photoshoot for making paw print stamps with my dog Rae-O was a memorable and fun memory.
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Yoona: I’m currently filming the Korean drama, “King the Land”. It’ll air in Korea in June, so please look forward to it!
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in April. How would you like to spend spring this year?
Yoona: First, I’ll be spending this spring filming the drama “King of Land”. I’d like to spend my free days with tranquil spring weather, but I’m busy. It’d be nice if I could take it easy next year (laughs)
Staff: On your Youtube channel, “Yoona’s So Wonderful Day”, you talk about your hard daily schedules, but do you have any secrets that you do to overcome your busy days?
Yoona: I look for my own energy. I listen to music, eat delicious food, and so on. More than anything, I think it is important to have an open mind, but when you’re often busy and having a hard time, it’s important to control yourself well and have fun!
Staff: Please give a message to the members that have walked with you for 15 years!
Yoona: It’s been 15 years since we debuted in Korea, but we spent even longer together if we count the years as trainees. I’m thankful that we’ve walked together up until now, and I’m so happy to have come across SNSD and have so many fun memories. I feel that my teens and 20s were really shining. Let’s shine beautifully even in our 30s!
Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Yoona: I always say this, but I really want to see you and I hope to see you all soon. Don’t forget about me until then and please support me. I’ll go see you!

Staff: You tried crafts and decorating a party room this time! Please share what parts you were particular about for this project.
Taeyeon: I was the most particular with what to do about the picture placement and the string color for the sneaker painting.
Staff: What was your theme and image for your sneaker painting?
Taeyeon: It was around Halloween (during the photoshoot) so I put a lot of my favorite Halloween imagery.
Staff: Please share your favorite point for sneaker painting.
Taeyeon: I really liked how the color was casually applied while I was tapping with the sponge. It was my goal to add color in a casual way, but it took the most time.
Staff: What do you think would match well with the sneakers you made today?
Taeyeon: All black! That or match it with a cute hoodie.
Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have?
Taeyeon: A jazz party♡
Staff: You’ve tried many things for SONE NOTE LIVE, but what was the most memorable experience for you? And why?
Taeyeon: When I made clothes for Zero! Zero actually often wore and walked around in the clothes I made so I was very happy. (Although Zero has gotten bigger since then and they don’t fit anymore…(laughs))
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Taeyeon: I have time to spend by myself, and I’m able to feel and learn many things during that time. I believe it’s a satisfying time in its own right.
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in February. Speaking of February, it’s the season for Valentine's Day, but what kind of sweets would you give on that day?
Taeyeon: Scones! And chocolate flavored coffee!
Staff: What winter food would you recommend to SONE JAPAN?
Taeyeon: Corn soup!
Staff: Please give a message to the members that have walked with you for 15 years!
Taeyeon: My only memories of my teens and twenties♡ Without a doubt it’s SNSD. Keep on giving me precious memories for life! Always be well and I love you all♡
Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Taeyeon: I am thankful that you all have always given me your passionate love and support since I started singing. I want to see what will happen in 2023 and make great, unforgettable memories with SONE. I love you lots♡

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2022.12.24 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 40 with Yuri
Staff: We had you create a party room with decorations this time! Please share what room decorations you were particular about and what was difficult.
Yuri: I was particular about decorating to match the atmosphere of winter and the Christmas season. I usually like cute impressions as well, so I finished it with an atmosphere that I liked.
Staff: You tried to make a floating frame for crafts! What was the theme and image for your piece?
Yuri: I kept in mind to bring out a sense of unity. A natural feeling. I tried making it centering on colorful flowers and what would work well with those flowers. The theme is harmony!
Staff: Please share what you were particular about and your favorite points for the floating frame.
Yuri: I think harmony is the most important thing for floating frames, which have several things piled up to form a single image, so [my favorite] point is it being simple but having harmony.
Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have?
Yuri: I think a pajama party would be nice. During tours and at the Japan dorms I have good memories of having pajama parties often with the members, so I think having a party with a relaxed atmosphere is great.
Staff: You tried many things for SONE NOTE LIVE, but what was the most memorable experience for you? And why?
Yuri: The SONE NOTE for horseback riding was really memorable. It’s a hobby of mine and I was able to have pretty photos with the white horse. Also I felt a sense of enjoyment from sharing the hobbies I usually do with SONE.
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Yuri: The drama, “Good Job”, finished filming, and recently the filming for “The Zone 2” for Disney+ also finished. I’m taking a break.
Staff: This SONE NOTE will be released in December. Speaking of December, it’s the Christmas season, so do you have a memorable Christmas episode with the other members?
Yuri: I remember going to Disney Sea and taking pictures and riding the attractions with the members.
Staff: Looking back over 2022, what is the most memorable event for you? Please share along with the episode.
Yuri: That has to be spending the hot summer with SNSD and SONE.  I was happy in a very meaningful way from the preparation process for the album, to meeting the fans directly and having the fan meeting and performances, and also having activities together with the members.
Staff: Please share if you have any health practices or countermeasures to deal with the fierce winter cold.
Yuri: Recently I’ve been taking half body baths often. I put in bath salts ordered from Japan and warm up with the baths.
Staff: Please give a message to the members that have walked with you for 15 years!
Yuri: Thank you so much for your hard work, I’m so proud of everyone.
Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Yuri: This year’s summer was truly an unforgettable one, as we got to meet each other a little closer this summer. I* will go see you again with good music and in good form, so please keep supporting me by my side. I hope you all stay warm for the coming year’s end. I want to meet you, SONE JAPAN! *T/N: not clear if Yuri is speaking for herself or for SNSD

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2022.11.07 SONE NOTE LIVE Special
Question 1: What are a few words to describe the past year that marked your 15th anniversary since your debut? Please explain why you chose them as well.
Taeyeon: Time flies!  I think we have done more compared to the time we’ve spent.
Sunny: Party!!!  There’s a celebratory meaning for us, but we also celebrated with the fans while making fun memories, and we have also received congratulatory messages from a lot of people, so it was a very fun party year.
Hyoyeon: No more pent up feelings!  I believe that through our 7th album activities, we have finally been able to resolve the feelings that all the fans and I have had about wanting to meet each other.
Yuri: A festival between SONE and SNSD only.  The SNSD members have been preparing for the project from one year ago for the summer of the 15th anniversary, and it is a celebration of SNSD and SONE’s time together so far.
Yoona: Happiness.  It was a happy year for both SNSD and SONE, as the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived.
Question 2: What is your favorite SNSD song?
Taeyeon: “FOREVER 1”!  It's a song that expresses SNSD as it is today, without being bound by a concept!
Sunny: “Kissing You”?? The lyrics of the song are beautiful the more I listen to it.
Hyoyeon: The song that comes to mind now is “Baby Baby”!  I think it’s a song that expresses when SNSD was innocent well.
Yuri: The Japanese version of “GENIE”!  It’s the official debut song for SNSD in Japan, and it was the opening song for concerts, so it is very memorable.  It's a very memorable song as we did a lot of activities with the song on Japanese programs.
Yoona: I like the song “Summer Night”, which is on the new album.  I like the song’s vibe.
Question 3: What is a memorable moment in your activities in Japan?
Taeyeon: Hot springs trip with the members!
Sunny: The hot springs we went to during the tour!  And the trophy and the award ceremony that our staff held for us when our album became a million seller!!!  It was so fun~
Hyoyeon: The Japan tours! I still remember the arena tours very well.
Yuri: The tours. They were very enjoyable.  When I look back, it was a time when I made various memories with the members and got closer to Japan’s SONE.  I had a lot of fun touring around the different cities of Japan, eating delicious food and getting a feel for the culture of the fans in each city.
Yoona: The arena tours, and the Tokyo Dome concert.
Question 4: Are there any lessons you have learned during your 15th anniversary since debut that you would like to cherish for the future?
Taeyeon: Everything won’t go as you’d like it to, but that’s life.
Sunny: That health is the most important!?  Let's make sure every moment counts and feel thankful!
Hyoyeon: Hard work pays off!  I want to keep being someone who keeps working hard from now on.
Yuri: It will happen one day if you don’t give up.  I’m someone that believes that the power to keep going is the most important, but I think that in order to achieve this, we must believe that no matter what adversity, if we don't give up, it will come true.  I am striving to continue as I have.
Yoona: That a good moment will come one day if you steadily keep at it!
Question 5: Please tell us once again what SNSD's appeal is.
Taeyeon: Variety. Everyone’s personality is different.
Sunny: Diverseness!! The member’s personalities are similar but different, and everyone has different quirks so it’s very interesting to see!!!
Hyoyeon: An eight colored bird* (A variety of appeals) I really feel like SNSD can take on any concept. *TL note: Bird species name is the fairy pitta
Yuri: I feel that Japan’s SONE would know that better than me!
Yoona: Energy!
Question 6: What are you interested in or want to try now?
Taeyeon: I’m interested in psychology, because it’s something I don’t know.
Sunny: I want to try making smoked food using actual firewood and charcoal (laughs)
Hyoyeon: I’ve recently been interested in going to countries I haven’t gone to before! Also, I’d like to try having a world tour as a DJ!
Yuri: Action?  I’d like to try being an actress for an action drama one day (laughs)  Kind of like The Huntresses?
Yoona: It would be nice to cook again if I had the time.
Question 7: A message for SONE JAPAN please.
Taeyeon: Everyone, please spend your precious days [well]!  May healthy days and only good things come to you all ♡
Sunny: My beloved SONE JAPAN♡ I always long for the day to see you again (T-T) I miss delicious Japanese food, the interesting and cute things, and above all I miss your twinkling eyes that you all have when you look at SNSD!!!!  I miss the fans that you paste our names and pictures on, too! (laughs) I believe that the day we can meet again is soon!! Be well and don’t forget me!! Please wait until we can meet again♡ Thank you always!!!!!
Hyoyeon: I was very happy to be able to see you all at SMTOWN in Japan the other day! It’d be nice if there were more chances to be able to see you frequently from now on. Thank you always!
Yuri: Thank you so much for celebrating our 15th anniversary with us!  It was a very happy activity for me. I really wanted to see you all. Are you doing well? I haven’t seen you in a long time and I miss you. I look forward to seeing you soon. Please be well until then!
Yoona: I always say this, but I miss you all the time. Recently, I’ve been filming the drama “King the Land”!  If you wait a little longer, I will make time to go see you.

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2022.08.31 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 39 with Hyoyeon
Staff: We had you create a party room with decorations this time! Please share what room decorations you were particular about and what was difficult.
Hyoyeon: I tried decorating while imagining SONE JAPAN coming into the room that I personally decorated and enjoying [the party] together! I decorated while thinking, “SONE JAPAN’s preferences would be like this.” Also, since it’s a party I thought to make it fancy! I used various decorations like dolphin balloons and ice cream balloons. And I wanted it to be colorful so that anyone would see that it was a party, so I tried to show cuteness by using pink colored tablecloths, tableware, and forks, etc.♡ Staff: You also tried making resin art! Please share what you were particular about and your favorite points. Hyoyeon: Before making them, I was concerned about the timing of when this would be given as a present, but when I heard it was for August of this year, I thought of the concept of “Summer!” I thought it’d be nice to have white beaches and the sea with an image to stay cool in the hot summer. I think it turned out cute with the inclusion of white and blue! I’m usually an active person, but making something with detailed work with my hands is very enjoyable. Today’s hands-on experience was the most detailed work among the other experiences I’ve tried until now. I held my breath when adding the beads. (laughs) Also, I was very busy because I wanted to show everyone how cute I was making it, so I worked with the camera in mind! (laughs) Staff: If you were to give your resin art a score on workmanship, what score would you give it? Please also share why! Hyoyeon: It’s my first time making it, but I think I made it well so 9.2 points out of 10! There’s probably parts that are lacking if a professional saw it, so I left off 0.8 points (laughs). I’m embarrassed to say it myself, but I really like how it turned out! There’s nothing that I don’t like! I was uneasy while making it, thinking “is this OK?”, but when I see how it turned out, I think it’s quite good. And also, hydrangeas are flowers that have an image of not really being suitable for ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), but it was surprising that it made the outer side of the box less empty. I made it more carefully since it’s a present♪ Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have? Also, who would you invite? Hyoyeon: I want to have a party concept of playing a medley of SNSD songs that suit a party. We have a song that’s called “PARTY”, and it would be nice to edit those songs a little shorter and make a medley of them. I would like to invite the fans there. Isn’t 15 years a long time? I believe that we have spent some time together up until now, so we can have deeper conversations. If it was a party with the other members, I wonder what would be nice? A special concept would be great. All the members like Disney, so wearing princess dresses would also be nice (laughs). Retro is popular recently, so wearing 80~90s clothing in our own style would be fun, too. Also, SNSD songs have had various concepts up until now. A party where everyone would wear outfits from songs such as “Into The New World” and “THE BOYS” seems interesting! Wonder if it’d be hectic (laughs). Staff: Please share your recent happenings. Hyoyeon: I released my first mini album in May! Fans all over the world have asked me, “Just when will you release an album?”, but it’s finally out! You’ve already listened to it a lot, right? (laughs) Thank you♡ SNSD is also having our 15th anniversary and we were worried about what we could give to all the fans, but as expected we thought that only an album [would be best]. I hope you all like it! We are also preparing performances and a reality show to line up with it, so I wonder if it’ll be out in August? Look forward to it ^^ Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in August. Summer is the season for increased skin troubles with the strong sunlight, but please share if you have any recommended skincare that you do in summer. Hyoyeon: Sunscreen above all! There’s really no point in applying a large amount [in one time]. It must be applied frequently to the point of thinking “[is this] enough?” I apply once every four hours. Sunscreen should not be used sparingly (laughs). I recommend applying it not only on your face, but anywhere that is exposed to the sun, such as your arms. Staff: There are various events during the summer, but is there anything that you always do in the summer? Hyoyeon: In the summer, I always go to the beach. I’m not a big fan of saltwater, but I love walking on sandy beaches. I feel like I’m doing something that’s appropriate for summer vacation when I step on sand. I’ve been to Thailand before, but I definitely want to try going to the Water Festival happening in Korea this year. Staff: SNSD will celebrate their 15th anniversary this year! Please share any memorable episodes when thinking back on your debut! Hyoyeon: There’s so many that it’s hard to pick. However, like I thought, memories on tour are the most memorable. The Japan tours were fun to the point where it was work, but in a good way, it didn’t feel like work at all. We enjoyed the food from each place and were able to directly talk to the fans in each area…Everyone responded well and it was so exciting! Staff: A message for the members that walked together with you for 15 years, please! Hyoyeon: People always tell me, how it is very difficult to continue for so long, that it’s miraculous. The members and I actively communicate with one another so there hasn’t been huge problems, and I believe that is the secret to our longevity. “Everyone! Thank you for staying with me for so long! Let's keep having fun like we always have!” Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please. Hyoyeon: I haven’t been able to see you in person for so long. However, I finally can! I’m excited that SMTOWN has been announced. I always receive your support from far away, and I always say “I want to see you!”, but I’m very happy to finally see you all! Let’s meet a lot from now on! ♡

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2022.06.30 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 38 with Sunny
Staff: We had you create a party room with decorations this time! Please share what room decorations you were particular about and what was difficult.
Sunny: I thought the point of a party was showiness, and decorated the room fancy and to create a fun mood, as well as cutely and to my liking. I especially used balloons to try to bring out the showiness! There weren't any difficulties, but I guess putting balloons in high places was a little hard (laughs). But it was fun.
Staff: You also tried making flower boxes! What was the theme and image for your piece?
Sunny: I tried to include as many different flowers as possible. All the flowers that were provided were cute and there wasn’t a single one that I thought was fine to leave out. I wanted the fans to fully enjoy such pretty flowers and tried to tightly pack them in with no gaps.
There’s actually one more that I made for myself, but I concentrated really hard while making the one for SONE JAPAN as I “have to give them something cute!” However, for some reason I didn’t try as hard for my own box (laughs). It’s kind of lousy (laughs).
Staff: You arranged various flowers in the flower boxes! If you were to compare SONE JAPAN to a flower, what would they be? Please share why as well.
Sunny: Pink roses. The SONE color is pink and I can’t compare them to any other flower!
Staff: Please share what parts you were particular about and your favorite points for the flower box.
Sunny: I made it thinking about the harmony of colors, so I don’t have a single part to point out. I guess the overall harmony was my favorite part. It wasn’t very difficult and it was very enjoyable♪
Actually, I learned a type of ikebana called tachibana with a senior I knew before. It had a different feel than using dried flowers, and balance and harmony were important. It might be because I learned a few things from that, but I enjoyed today! Among today’s materials were these round berries and they were so cute that I put a few in the box. I personally like it a lot as I was able to express it well in the box.
Also, hydrangeas seem like flowers that are not well suited for ikebana, but they played a role in making the outer part not so dull, which was surprising. I think today’s piece would score 90 points out of 100! I leave the remaining 10 points up to the fans (laughs).
Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have? Also, who would you invite?
Sunny: I’d like to have a party with the concept of having a meal with all the fans. Recently, isn’t it hard to get together and have a meal? Therefore, I really would like to have a party to eat with the fans and talk about various things.
As for parties with members, since my birthday and Yoona’s birthday are both in May, it seems like there’ll be a party for both of our birthdays. The dress code can be pink to represent SNSD!
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Sunny: As it’s our 15 anniversary, we have been preparing for it while wondering how to convey our gratitude to SNSD fans. As we have been loved for 15 years, we worry and think a lot about what we should do to make the fans happy.
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in June. It rains a lot in June so it’s hard to go outside, but how do you usually spend your time during rainy days?
Sunny: I don’t usually go outside during rainy days. I like to be at home, looking at the rainy view while listening to music, and get lost in my thoughts. I don’t really like going out in the rain, but I love viewing sceneries with the rain falling! Watching the rain while eating something delicious is also good, too. Something like toppoki. It’s gotta be toppoki on a rainy day, right? (laughs)
Staff: SNSD will celebrate their 15th anniversary this year! Please share any memorable episodes when thinking back on your debut!
Sunny: I remember the big events with the fans, such as our first concert and our first tour. All of our concerts and events are precious memories, but I especially still recall the memory of our debut showcase in Japan. The pink penlights that the fans waved when all the lights were off in a pitch black venue come to my mind like a scene in a movie. It was a really emotional moment.
Staff: A message for the members that walked together with you for 15 years, please!
Sunny: I don’t think I could have done it by myself for 15 long years. I’m happy to have done it with you all, and each one of you is a precious person to me. I can’t imagine anyone else but my members.
“Fellow members! Thank you for being with me for so long! And thank you for being by my side even during hard and painful times!”
Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Sunny: SONE JAPAN, you have been waiting too long. I also want to see you all soon. The earliest scheduled event is SMTOWN LIVE. It may be difficult for all the members to attend, but a few will go see you all after a long time, so have fun there first. We’re doing our best to prepare for you to see all of us performing and singing together as soon as possible! Please wait for it!
