To Find You, Wherever You Are.

—Prologue.

At last, Aether's prologue is finally here

Realistically, this was out on.. Thursday(?) on Ao3 but it took longer on here because i have exams and need to study😔💔

As the Crown Prince, Aether has always had many responsibilities.

Many of which he never wanted.

He’s not what a Crown Prince should be.

He’s awkward, hates social gatherings, doesn’t like speaking, and many other things.

He’s fine with leadership, somewhat. He can do it if necessary but generally, he prefers not to.

He doesn’t have any friends, only the noble kids he’s forced to hang out with for house-relationship reasons. There’s only one person in the castle that he genuinely cares about his sister, Soleil, or her real name, Lumine.

Lumine is the only one in this entire castle that treats him like a person. Not the Crown Prince, not the son of the king, not a high-ranking noble. When he’s with Lumine, he’s just…

Aether.

She’s the only person he feels comfortable with in the whole universe.

So when he saw that abomination reach for his sister… He was filled with such fear and time froze for a second.

Fear of losing the only person who ever cared for him and the only person he ever cared for in return.

Lumine was clearly frozen in shock, and for a moment, Aether could see the fear in her eyes, a look he’d never seen on her face before apart from when mother and father scolded her.

So, Aether moved.

As fast as he could, his legs moved before he could think. He ignored his shitty parent’s cries as they begged him to help from beneath the rubble of the falling castle. They weren’t important, not right now, he’ll feel bad for it later but right now, Lumine’s life is more important.

He quickly grabbed her and began flying away from the abomination.

He’s not the best at much, he’s good at fighting, and he enjoys it, but he wishes he got to learn it on his own time and not only because he was forced to.

Unlike him, Lumine is special. She's good at things, she likes going outside and being in public and talking and making friends.

Not like him.

She could do things better than he could. Her fighting style was stronger, and more aggressive, while his fighting style was more defensive in nature and honestly he was fine with that. Aether likes protecting others, especially those he cares about but their father didn’t approve of that.

He was the crown prince, he had to be a fighter. No way could he be satisfied being a defender and even worse than that, could he be okay with his sister - a girl - having a more offensive fighting style than him?

And now in this moment, Aether is fine not protecting. To him, as much as it hurts him because they’re still his parents, his mother and father hold less weight in his life than his only friend and true family.

When Lumine smiled at him, happy and smiling, he was confused at first. Why would she be happy in this situation? Of course, they have horrible memories of this place but it’s still their home, is it not?

But when Lumine recklessly flies through the portal to one of their allied planets, they hit the ground harshly. He finds himself finally taking in the weight of the chaos. Their home is gone, it’s in shambles, it’s nothing. And he left their parents to die.

But… Lumine is happy.

And that makes him okay with it. He left his parents to die so that his sister could live. His sister who, unlike their father, won’t get mad at him for not wanting to be social, who’ll actually speak for him when he’s too shy. Who, unlike their mother, won't call him a disgrace and slap him.

“You okay, Aeth?” When Lumine asks him that question, Aether’s not entirely sure how to answer. Thankfully, he doesn’t have to because he can see Lumine zone out a few seconds after asking.

He stands, walking over to her, trying to get her attention. “Lumine? Lumine… Lumi!” Nothing. Lumine comes back to her senses after a little while though. Blinking and looking up at him confused for a moment.

He sighs, “Aeons, Lumi. You’ve been zoning out a lot lately, you know that?”

Lumine smiles as she takes his hand. “It’s nothing. I promise.” Liar, he’s sure of it. But he won’t press for now. They’re both liars regarding how they feel, a trait they surely inherited from their father.

“Aether?”

The older blinks, “...Yes, Lumine?”

“You and I are gonna get better. Let’s promise each other that. Seriously, this time.”

Aether’s brain stopped for a second and all he could do was blink at Lumine.

Get better…? Them?

Lumine has always been more ambitious than him.

And so he smiles, “Yeah. Let’s promise.”

One thing they got from their parents, for a fact, was the ability to lie to each other and others to their faces without a single hint of guilt.

When “he” woke up to find himself stranded in a field alone without his sister by his side… He panicked.

He’s never without Lumine, and Lumine would normally tell him or leave a note if she was leaving so—.

Oh.

Yes, right. That damned god.

She stopped them from leaving this place and took his sister… and he’s alone. He’s never been alone before… The last time he was alone was all the way back when…

He doesn’t remember actually.

But he knows that Lumine was always with him. He has never been alone again…

Has he? He says that but, he can’t think of a time when he was… anything. All of his memories are of Lumine. And he, where is he? Everything he remembers has Lumine in it but there’s nothing of him by himself.

What does he like? What’s his favourite colour, book, or… Anything?

…What’s his name? Why can’t he even remember his name?!

His breathing begins to quicken rapidly, and he rolls over, clutching his chest. He’s alone, truly alone… no sister, and no memory of who he is.

This is hell.

It must be.

Suddenly, the open field felt like a box. A closed-in, suffocating box. The colours around him look off, distorted and unnatural. Red, blue, yellow spiralling everywhere making him dizzy, he wants to throw up.

A voice echoes in his head.

“Stupid child, can’t do anything by yourself, can you? Even your failure of a sister can do the bare minimum, but you can’t even do that! Truly a disgrace to our name.”

Whose voice is that? It’s not Lumines… But it sounds similar to hers. ‘Failure of a sister’? But Lumine isn’t a failure… not to him anyway. Sure, she has a bad habit of making herself throw up after she eats, but it’s not her fault; it's someone who made her that way.

But who?

Perhaps that voice is their mother's… but why? Lumine isn't a failure. She's the one who inspired him most.

She's… his only friend.

“I wish I threw you into the sea when you were born!”

…Father?

Why do these voices keep attacking him? He doesn't remember these people…

Is that who he is? A worthless failure who should’ve died at birth?

What is his purpose? Why must their parents hate him so? Hate them so?

Maybe he should die…

“Don’t worry…” A gentler voice says, it's Lumine. “When we escaped our home planet, we promised we'd get better, right? Neither of us will be failures to anyone anymore! We'll both be… okay.”

Right, okay.

It’ll be okay. Everything will.

Lumine is still out there… somewhere—his only friend and supporter.

Taking multiple deep breaths, trying to steady himself as best he can. He needs to find his sister and leave this place as soon as possible. He doesn’t remember much, but he does remember that thing—the blackhole, Kazimir. They were chasing Lumine—probably to kill her and might be on their way to this planet too. He needs to find his sister and leave immediately before that psycho comes.

Shakily, he pushes himself to sit up, “And… maybe I’ll remember who I am eventually…” he stands up, legs weak and vision a bit off. The colours still look weird… Hopefully itt fades soon. He needs water, like now.

Picking a random direction that he feels the most… confident about, the man begins to walk towards a forest. Hopefully, wherever this leads will bring him to water and his lost family.

Thankfully, he finds a river quite quickly, and the colours have also slowly begun to return to normal. The prince falls to his knees and leans down to begin drinking before pulling back quickly.

“Blah!”

By the supernovas, that was horrible. This river tastes horrible… but he’s still thirsty and has no other water source nearby, and he feels as though he’ll get extinguished if he doesn’t drink something.

So, with all his courage, he goes down to drink again but stops. He was so focused on the water, he didn’t see his reflection.

So this is what he looks like…

Pale skin, braided blonde hair that’s a little darker than Lumine’s colour, amber brown eyes…

So this is who he is…

So this is… him.

This is who he is.

It’s not surprising given how his sister looks but…

Nothing’s coming back to him.

He still doesn't remember his name, age or any basic information.

Goddamn it. But… It'll be fine. He knows it will. If he can’t get his memories back on his own, he needs to find the one person who will remember him.

But… maybe in the meantime, he should try… by himself. To find himself, or at least.

And that's… hard.

How does he do that? The thought alone is… scary. He doesn’t think he can do that.

But… Lumine is brave, and she believes in him; his memories tell him that. He needs to get himself together, to become… more like her.

Yeah…

Yeah!

He’ll try. He’ll prove himself. He’s not a failure as the voice says. Lumine has faith in him, and Lumine has always been. He’ll get stronger in every way, and then he’ll find her, and they can leave here.

The man stands, forgetting the nasty water. Where must he go now? Where on this planet will allow him to complete his goals…

He has no idea where to start so he may as well let his instinct guide him.

“Uhm… There.” He chooses a direction he feels the strongest about to walk towards.

As he’s walking…. He spots a cabin. Truly, he should try going there to ask whoever lives there for directions or something but the thought alone of talking to someone is already nerve wracking, farless actually doing it.

But he should, shouldn’t he? He can’t let this feeling stop him from trying.

But by the aeons, he can’t get himself to move in the cabin’s direction.

He turns his head, there’s a forest over there.

…He’ll try there instead. Fewer people. Hopefully.

He can’t bear the thought of actually talking to anyone. He feels his chest tighten just from the thought of speaking with people even if it’s only one person in that cabin.

He managed to catch some fish, he made a makeshift fishing rod that's horrible but it works for now.

The man learns that he doesn’t like fish. He really doesn’t like fish.

However, it’s better than eating any of the apples on the trees. He tried one and he hated it. The texture is just… ugh. He doesn’t like it at all.

So the fish is better.

He remembers that Lumine loved apples, although she always specified that the green ones were better.

If he finds some green ones, he should try them.

As night falls, he finds an open hole in the ground that seems to lead into a cave system. Not that it matters, he isn’t going that deep inside anyway, he just needs a place to sleep for now.

Maybe he should’ve tried that cabin…

No. No.

What if someone was in there? That’d be even worse than him just sleeping in a cave.

Curling up in a corner, he hugs himself. Not the most comfortable way to sleep, but it’ll have to do for now until morning.

He closes his eyes, hopefully he can get at least some rest.

“Damn you, child. Can’t you do anything right?!”

“Useless, all you need to do is talk to some noble brats. Can’t you just do that?!”

… Guess not.

The man rolls on his side, covering his ears.

Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up! Shut the fuck up!

He doesn’t care, he knows he’s worthless. Stop telling him that, he knows more than anyone! He hates himself more than these voices ever will. Even if he can’t remember shit, he knows how useless he is. It’s carved into his soul at this point. So stop saying it!

Does covering his ears help when the voices are in his head? Nope.

But he’ll do it anyway.

Anything is better than talking to people.

He doesn’t know why he feels this way though. Maybe something happened in the past? There are so many things he needs to remember…

First things first, a name. If an unfortunate situation occurs where he absolutely must speak then he at least names a name to give them until he can remember his own.

What’s a good temporary name…

Something that sounds good and that he likes…

Oh! He knows.

Soleil.

For now, he’ll call himself “Soleil”.

Lumine’s second name that she didn’t like using, she always preferred her real name.

Soleil…

In Search of You, Whoever You Are.

—Prologue.

As a princess, one should be elegant, classy, beautiful, quiet, smart, respectful, obedient, skinny…

Lumine had spent her whole life learning these core values.

Perfection.

That is all that matters; no matter where she goes, she must never forget this.

Even when her planet is being destroyed, even when she’s being hunted. When that boy, who looked around their age at the time, tried to rip her core out… She was afraid.

She’d never been afraid of anyone besides her mother and father, the queen and king, but she had never been scared of anyone else. Never been afraid of death, being a Star, she never had to be, Stars can’t even kill themselves—it is physically impossible.

And when that abomination nearly ripped her stomach out, she froze. Never had she been attacked like this.. Yes, she learnt how to fight, but being a princess, she never actually had to use those skills.

Of course, her mother hit her a lot, but that was her mother, so it doesn’t count as an attack.

The only reason she survived that encounter was when Aether pulled her away, dragging her with him as he flew.

It was only then that Lumine realised her planet was truly being destroyed. Her castle, friends, family—

Her dragon!

Her companion was also gone… Is this the end? Their end?

Oddly enough, she wasn’t as sad about it as she probably should’ve been, but she couldn’t help it.

The only two things she truly cared for were her brother and her dragon, one of which she’s already lost and…

She gazes at Aether.

The other one she will eventually lose due to their lifespan difference.

So what truly matters at this point? Maybe, she should just turn around and let the Blackhole destroy her, allow herself to be extinguished billions of years before her lifetime is naturally supposed to end. Life means nothing away.

She was a princess. Her mother made sure she dedicated her life to it.

But everything is gone now, she’s not a princess—Not anymore. Everything she did was for nothing. She gave up relations with her friends, rejected potential partners because her mother said Lumine could only be with whatever young noble she picked out for her, not even her clothes were hers—her mother picked all of it out for her.

The dress she’s wearing is the only one not from her mother.

It’s special, very special.

Aether made it for her.

He learnt how to sew and everything just to gift her with it.

And it was at that moment that Lumine had come to the realisation that—

She yanked her arm from Aether and instead grabbed him to fly faster as he was clearly getting tired. She turned to look back at him, smiling, “Aether, this isn’t so bad!” she shouted so he could hear her over the sounds of destruction, death, and chaos, even though she could literally just use telepathy.

Aether, reasonably, looks at his sister like she’s insane because what does she mean by ‘this isn’t so bad!’? They have a mountain of bad memories here, sure, but it’s still their home.

Seeing his confusion, Lumine continues. “We’re gonna get better! This place doesn’t have to matter anymore. No one’s forcing us to stay here now! C’mon!” She flares her wings to increase the speed as the Planetary Union portal comes into view, and Aether just sighs, doing the same.

Well, you don’t need to follow the union rules if the planet is gone. So fly into it, the portal closing behind them.

As soon as they made it through the portal, they both collapsed onto the ground.

“We– we made it…” Lumine mutters, relaxing her wings, “Are you okay, Aeth?” She looked at her brother, who looked a bit more out of it than she was expecting. Although she supposes she cared for their homeland much less than he did, it makes sense.

They had escaped, for now. They were now on an ally planet that they can’t stay on either, lest the abomination, Kazimir, was what he said his name was, but Lumine won’t address him as that. They aren’t friends after all.

She snapped back to reality when she realised Aether had got up, holding out his hand for her to take.

“Aeons, Lumi. You’ve been zoning out a lot lately, you know that?” Aether’s voice was calm as usual. It doesn’t match how he looked a second ago, but her brother’s always been good at hiding how he feels. Guess they both inherited that from their father.

Taking his hand, Lumine smiles. “It’s nothing. I promise.”

It seems both of them have been breaking promises lately, but…

“Aether?”

“...Yes, Lumine?”

“You and I are gonna get better. Let’s promise each other that. Seriously, this time.”

Aether blinked once and then twice. He opened his mouth to say something, but then stopped and smiled.

“Yeah. Let’s promise.”

One thing they got from their parents, for a fact, was the ability to lie to each other and others to their faces without a single hint of guilt.

When Lumine woke up at dawn to find herself stranded in a field alone with her brother by her side… Her first emotion was worry.

He usually never leaves on his own much, especially not without telling her anything. So why… is she alone?

And why doesn't she remember what happened?

She was with her brother and… and—

Why doesn't she remember her brother's name?

The blonde woman stands up, dusting off her dress. It’s fine. She’s fine. She’s… fine. She feels a little weird, she doesn’t think she’s ever been… alone like this before. But that’s fine, she’ll make it, all she needs is to find her brother and get the hell off of this planet.

It needs to be quick, too; she doesn’t know why, but she doesn’t want to stay here any longer.

Looking up at the sky, Lumine tries to summon her winds and—...

“Wait, what? Why aren't they…”

More panic ensues.

She barely has memories, doesn't know who or where her brother is, has no idea how to get out of this place, AND she can't use her wings?!

She's gonna cry.

Not actually.

But also kinda actually.

But most importantly…

“I have… to walk…?” She says in disbelief. “I should just kill myself.”

Reluctantly, she begins to walk. To where? She isn't sure, but her gut tells her to go in this direction, so here she'll go.

Maybe she'll regain some memories along the way.

After hours had passed, night was beginning to fall, and Lumine had found… nothing, and she was hungry, her core was aching. She is usually served breakfast at this time… She’s hungry and… alone. Painfully alone. Why? Why must she feel this way? It’s painful.

She did eventually find something, she came upon a cabin near a river. Having nowhere else to go, she approaches the door and knocks. “Pardon me! Is anyone home?” She calls out and hears movement from inside.

“Please, wait a moment…!” A soft old voice replies, it sounds like the man’s vocal cords are about to be extinguished.

Soon after, a short old man opens the door. He has a full head of grey hair and a beard that looks like it's been overgrown for years, he has very long and pointed ears—is he an elf?—his eyes are close.... or squinted. Lumine isn't sure either way he-...

She stops herself.

She's a princess. Princesses are kind. Mostly at least.

‘Remember your teachings, Lumine. You and [—] didn't go through those torturous schoolings for nothing.’ She tells herself.

Wait. Who's [—]? Weird, she should know that name. So why can't she think of it?

Ugh…

Suddenly, she's snapped back to reality by the old man. “Excuse me, young lady. What did you call this old man for…?”

Lumine blinks for a moment before collecting her thoughts and speaking up, “I apologise. I am lost, you see, and your cabin here is the only thing I saw. So I came here to check if anyone lived here.”

“Lost, you say? Well, you do look out of the ordinary here. Never seen someone like you before, no cultures I know wear clothes like yours.”

“Yes, yes.. I'm from a very, very far away place. Would you be kind enough to give me some food if you have any? Or a sword, perhaps? Mine seems to have vanished…” She asks kindly, not very fond of having to take from an elderly man, but it's desperate times. The loss of her sword saddens her; she feels bad over losing it, like it was important or something.

No, no good comes from dwelling on the past that she can't remember. She must do what she must now so that she can find her brother and return… home, wherever home is. She realises that she also does not remember where exactly ‘home’ was, she just knows somehow that it's off this planet.

The tiny old man hums in consideration before stepping aside, “Please, come in, young lady.”

She nods and enters, the cabin is surprisingly spacious. “Did you build all of this yourself, sir?” She looks around, the place is well-cleaned too. The old man gestures for her to sit at the table as he moves to the kitchen.

“I did, long ago when I was still a youth. Probably around your age, my lady.” The man comes back with some sandwiches, and Lumine won’t complain; they smell good, but…

“I’m sorry, sir. I’m not hungry…” She says, gently declining his food offer, the old man gives her an odd look.

“Nonsense, I heard your stomach rumbling minutes ago, young lady.”

Lumine blushes in embarrassment, “No, no, no… Please, it’s fine. I’m not that hungry.”

The man insists more, “What kind of man would I be if I allowed a guest to go hungry? It may not be much, but please, eat.”

Lumine sighs in defeat and takes the plate from him. She’ll have to deal with it for now.

“I also have a spare bed you can use for the night, if you’d like.” He offers, and Lumine nods, “Thank you. It’ll only be a night, I promise.”

… Sleeping in a bed after walking all day for hours. How nice.

The next morning, Lumine lies in bed, staring at the ceiling. The old man was wiping down the table. Lumine had offered to help, but her offer was rejected. “Pardon me, sir. If I may ask, why are you so… generous to me? A stranger?” She asks curiously. It’s odd, are most people this nice to strangers? She can’t imagine. However, it’s not as though she’d ever really been outside of the castle much anyway.

Once again, it brings up the question of how she even got here.

“I pride myself on my kindness to all, my lady… And you are a traveller, no?”

The blonde woman sits up in the bed, “A traveller… Yes. I suppose I am. Although I don’t know where I’m going, or where this journey should or will take me… or what I’m even journeying for.” She sighs. This’ll be tough, huh?

“No matter. You will need rest for wherever your journey takes you. I’m sure you will come to find out what or who you seek; nothing in the world can be truly hidden after all.”

“You know…” the old man starts, “You remind me of a young man I met many years ago. So different in personality, yes… but so similar. You both speak the same language, too.”

“A… young man?”

“Yes, he looked similar to you, actually. I wonder how he's doing now…”

The blonde's eyes widened. “Please, could you tell me about him? Anything is fine.”

“I suppose I could. This old head of mine is a bit fuzzy, so my memory may not be the best. However, I will tell you what I can.”

A long, long time ago, when the old man was far younger, there came a tall, handsome young man with long blonde hair and orange-yellow eyes similar to Lumines. He didn’t talk much, he didn’t speak at all, actually, instead seeming to have a form of telepathy. Even so, he was quite shy, not saying much, not even making eye contact, and his body language was quite awkward. He claimed he was from a faraway place, one none of the people of Teyvat could ever hope to reach. He was alone, having nothing but a unique-looking sword and the clothes on his back.

He was accompanied by another mysterious-looking blonde man dressed in black with a weird thing that the man assumed was a mask. They hadn’t intentionally come to the man, but they found him on their journey. The blonde man dressed in black had claimed that his name was Dainsleif and that he and the man with him were travelling companions. He then asked the then old man if they could stay for a night as they needed rest for their journey.

The man let them stay the night, serving them a simple meal of what he had that day in his cabin. His meeting with the two men had been short, but given that he had been living in solitude for years, any interaction he had with another living person or… people in this case is quite memorable to him. Especially given how odd the men were.

After those men left, he never saw or heard from them again. Now, hundreds of years later, he meets a woman whose appearance is almost a replica of the man he saw so long ago. Perhaps, this is merely fate.

“... His name.” She mumbles, trying not to sound as desperate as she feels. “Could you tell me his name, please?” She feels like she should know the young man he speaks of. She needs to know…

“I… do not remember.” The old man replies, noticing how Lumine frowns, “I apologise, but somehow, his name has been lost to me. Similarly to how I even forgot my own name with time…”

Lumine gets up from the bed, “It’s fine, sir. It’s not your fault, after all.” The princess smooths out her dress. “I should be leaving now, I wouldn’t want to take too much of your time.”

“Ah, leaving so soon? Well then, why don’t you take something with you?” The old man leaves the room for a moment before returning with a dull blade and a fishing rod. “You don’t seem to have anything on you. It will be dangerous for a lady such as you… So please, take this. It may not be the best, but it’s what I have.”

Surprised, Lumine waves her arms in a rejecting motion, “No, no. It’s fine… I couldn’t possibly take from you-” But the old man holds the items closer to her anyway.

“Please, take them. Please, I don’t feel right letting you leave empty-handed.”

But she’s the one who slept and ate here, she has already taken from him. However, she knows he won’t back down, so reluctantly, she takes the items. “Thank you, sir. I’ll… be off now.”

The old man nods with a soft smile, “I wish you luck wherever you find yourself.”

“Thank you for the kindness. I will never forget this.” She smiles back at him, waving to him as she leaves the cabin and begins to walk away, giving it one last look before she leaves. Near the cabin is a forest, so she decides to go there first because she has something to do.

She quickly walks into the forest, getting far enough away from the cabin before stopping dead in her tracks. Holding onto a tree for support as she hunched over, sticking two fingers down her throat in an attempt to hack up whatever was left in her stomach.

And eventually…

“Hucghh…!”

She finally gets it and vomits out onto the grass, doing it repeatedly till she can’t anymore.

Disgusting…

She hates it, she hates the smell, the taste of vomit in her mouth, the image of it on the grass beneath her. It's repulsive.

But it’s better than her gaining weight, right? Mother always said a princess should stay skinny.

Mother would be disgusted if she put on more weight, even if she’s away from home.

A good daughter shouldn't bring embarrassment to her mother or the family, no matter where she goes, no matter if people are here to see and no matter if the family is known here or not.

“No… You don't.”

Lumine gasps, “What? Who's there…?” She looks around frantically. She thinks she knows that voice… She thinks she should.

Alternate Universe General Info

✦ — Aether and Lumine are royalty who fled from their home planet due to it being destroyed by a Blackhole, Kazimir, who was in search of Lumine because he wanted to steal her blazing stellar core to make himself stable.

✦ — They find themselves travelling from planet to planet, never staying in one place due to the fear of Kazimir finding them again.

✦ — However, they run into some issues when the god of one planet is abnormally insistent on them staying.

✦ — They unfortunately, could not beat that god and were separated from each other, as well as having most of their abilities sealed.

Traveller Lumine Specific

✦ — Lumine wakes up with no memories of Aether, the Unknown God, Kazimir, travelling planets or the destruction of her home planet. To her, she's still a princess needing to obey her mother and father's rules. However, she has since aching sense that something, someone, is missing. A brother.

✦ — Lumine knows that she has a brother, however, she doesn't remember anything besides that. Now, her goal is to find her lost sibling and to hopefully come to remember who he is.

✦ — Lumine fanfic title: "In Search of You, Whoever You Are."

Traveller Aether Specific

✦ — Aether wakes up with most but not all of his memories. He remembers the unknown god, Kazimir, Lumine, and most other things, but... He doesn't remember himself. Not his name, or face, or wants, or anything else.

✦ — He, rightfully, begins to have a crisis about not knowing his identity and the fact that his only loving family member left is missing, and he has no idea where she is. Now, his journey is to find his lost sister and try to find himself as well.

✦ — Aether fanfic title: "To Find You, Wherever You Are."

✦ — Both of the twins' systems were damaged when their abilities were sealed. They cannot use their light magic as much without becoming tired and needing a break, they cannot fly or summon their wings, they become a lot more vulnerable to impurities, etc.

About The Celestial Bodies...

Stars

✦ — Humanoid creatures, they are called "Stars" due to their ability to produce light naturally.

✦ — All stars have cores, and their core defines what type of star they are. It also determines their lifespans.

Cores:

Blazing stellar core — The brightest and strongest core.,

✦ — Many say that the brightest star burns out fastest, but in this case, that isn't true. Stars with these cores have much longer lifespans than others.

Fury stellar core — A strong and bright core, though not as much as the blazing version.,

✦ — Stars with these cores also live long lives, but even they die out long before those with blazing stellar cores do.

Windful stellar core — The weakest and and dimmest core. Most stars are born with these.,

✦ — They are called "windful" because their lifespans are so short (in comparison to the two other cores) that many joke that a gust of wind could put them out.

Blackholes

✦ — No one knows how they are made, but Blackholes are considered to be "failed stars". The theory is that, they are Stars that had complications during their creation.

✦ — Blackholes are unstable both mentally and physically. This instability is what causes them to destroy almost everything around them.

✦ — The only ways to fix this instability and to become "whole" again are either:

Finding a Star with a Blazing stellar core and steal it for themselves.,

Finding a Star with a blazing stellar core and staying around them for forever. If they separate from that Star for a long period of time, their instability will return and they will begin to destroy everything around them once again.,

✦ — Blackholes do not destroy the things around them on purpose, it just happens. Just by standing in an area, the things near them will begin to crack and break.

Living Worlds

✦ — Literally as the name states, planets or worlds that are alive. These worlds can breathe, speak, become ill, eat, and die.

✦ — These worlds are usually hostile, yet allow life to live on them for the sake of free food.

Internal Planets

✦ — These are planets or worlds that exist inside of humanoid entities or creatures.

For example: Yosil is this universes world of death, however, when you look at them, you would see a normal person and you wouldn't know what exactly they were unless they either told you or you had the misfortune of witnessing them throw up souls when they feel sick.,

✦ — There are many entities and creatures that do not know that they are Internal Planets. They live life without knowing of the world or planet existing within them.

Shooting Stars

✦ — Humanoid trickster creatures. They fall from the sky onto different planets and make it their goal to trick, scam, and deceive the people on that planet.

✦ — They will also grant wishes if they are feeling nice enough, however, most of them aren't so nice to let the wish be free.

✦ — These creatures tend to have a love for money, gold and other expensive rocks, gems, etc., shiny objects, and the colour purple.

About Elements...

Light

Absorbs the element and amplifies them. The strength of the amplification depends on the strength of the user.

Void

Absorbs and destroys the elements to buff itself. The more elements it absorbs, the higher the Void DMG buff.

About New Items...

Fallen Star Fragments

✦ — Sometimes, pieces of the celestial bodies will drop down onto Teyvat. For normal people, these are useless and are just sold for a high fortune to rich people who wanna use them as decoration.

✦ — To the traveller, however, if these fragments are consumed, it'll heal some parts of their damaged body (the forceful sealing of their powers damaged them, which is partly why they are so weak).

✦ — Eating more and more of them will allow the Traveller to become less vulnerable to impurities and use whatever unsealed power they have left without immediately getting tired and needing rest/a cooldown.
