The UpsideDownWhat? - Part 9 - (Steve Harrington xx)

THIS IS NOW A SERIES!! I’LL BE UPDATING WHEN I GET A CHANCE!!

Short Description – Steve + Reader helps the kids to set fire to shit and help save Hawkins and Eleven.

Pairing - Steve + reader

Warnings - Swearing + Sexual remarks and scenes (Smut – Not in this chapter!) + Violence + There are Season two spoilers, so if you have not yet seen season two, don’t get mad, this is the !!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!!

(A/n) - This is my first attempt of writing an imagine series. If you could comment at the end of this or just send me a message to tell me if it is good and if you want to find out the readers reaction when seeing the demodog for the first time.

“Holy shit.” You mumbled as you slid down the rope. It was literally tunnels that probably led all the way through Hawkins. Mike had a sketched map in his hand and was studying it closely. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure its this way.” He said, you frowned. “Pretty sure is probably going to get us killed.” You mumbled to yourself. “You’re pretty sure, or you’re certain?” Dustin questioned Mike, making you smile because you had the same thoughts.

“Fuck.” You mumbled as a pain shot straight through your brain, you grabbed the side of your head. “(Y/n)?” Steve’s voice was laced with worry. “What’s wrong?” He held your face in his big hands and the pain slowly went away. “I just think it’s because I hit my head on the same spot twice.” You mumbled.

“I’m 100% sure. Just follow me and you’ll know.” Mike yelled, Steve still cradled your face. “I’m okay babe, let’s go do this thing.” Steve just nodded, not entirely believing you. Steve turned and saw Mike heading into the tunnels. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I don’t think so.” He said, walking towards Mike. “What?” Mike looked confused. “Any of you little shits die down here. I’m getting the blame. Got it, dipshit?” Steve stood tall next to Mike and grabbed his flashlight. “From here on out, I’m leading the way. Come on, let’s go.” Steve instructed. You rolled your eyes at his commands, but still found yourself smiling.

You let the kids walk in front of you and you took the back, trying to protect them from stuff if something had to attack. Dustin was in front of you and suddenly you started to worry. What if something did happen? How would you explain this stuff?

You entered a big opening with a few different tunnels leading different ways. “God.” Lucas mumbled. “What is this place?” Max asked. “Guys come on, keep moving.” Steve instructed, and you kept on walking, following the gang through one of the tunnels. You looked up and realised Dustin was not in front of you and you turned your head searching for him.

Just as you spot him something above him shot a form of gas into his face and he began to scream. “Shit!” Dustin yelled, and you ran over to him yelling his name. “Help! Help! Help!” you started screaming again when you heard the panic in his voice. He tripped and landed on the floor. The rest of the gang came running back. “Dustin!” “Dustin!” everyone yelled. “What happened. What happened!” Steve yelled, crouching down beside you, trying to get a good look at Dustin.

“It’s in my mouth! Some got in my mouth! Shit!” you freaked out and Steve pushed you away from Dustin and away from whatever sprayed him. Dustin started coughing and your panic tears settled in. “Oh shit.” Steve sounded terrified. Suddenly Dustin stopped coughing an everyone was dead silent. Dustin looked up and the flashlight illuminated his face. “I’m okay.” He said with a straight face and you sighed in relieve.

“You serious?” Max asked. “Very funny, man.” Steve added. “Nice. Very nice.” “Jesus, what an idiot.” Max and Steve added again as you hurried over to Dustin, slightly helping him up. “It really did go into my mouth.” He mumbled, straightening his backpack. You nodded and with a small smile grabbed his arm, trying to not get separated by the rest of the gang. “I know, I saw it.” Dustin threw his hands in the air. “Thank God, somebody believes me.”

Ten minutes later you walked into another big opening, but this one was different. “All right, Wheeler. I think we found your hub.” Steve said. “Let’s drench it.” Mike said as he grabbed a gasoline tank and handed it to you. I opened it and walked straight to the centre of the room, dumping it out on the floor. Steve had the tank with the spray gun and he sprayed it on the ceiling of the tunnel, the rest of the gang dumping it on the floor. After everyone was finished you stepped towards the tunnel that you entered through. “Okay, is everyone ready to run?” Steve asked, you nodded. Dustin dug in his pocket and grabbed the lighter, handing it over to Steve. “Okay, we run on three.” You turned and started running, dragging the kids with you, not waiting for three. “Let’s go, go, go!” You yelled.

You were in the front, but Steve caught up to you. “Let’s go, hurry up!” You panicked. “Oh, my God. Oh, my God.” Was all you could hear coming from Dustin’s mouth. It was like something that Steve picked up from Dustin cause all he was saying was “Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.”

Steve looked down at the map and made a left turn. “This way!” He yelled. Suddenly Mike grunted and fell to the floor right beside you. “Oh God!” You yelled as he grunted again, something moved and tangled around his feet, it looked like vines. “Steve!” You yelled. “Help! Help! Help!” Mike called. “Hold on!” “Steve, pull him out!” Steve grabbed a hold of Mike’s arms and started pulling, it didn’t work so you grabbed Steve’s bat and slammed down right onto the vine that was grabbing Mike. You swung up and then with all your force slammed back down. You did this a few times until the vine broke and Mike was free.

“You okay?” “You good?” Everyone questioned. “Guys we’ve gotta go, now!” You yelled and started running, but you we’re stopped by a Demodog and your heart started gunning. Dustin stepped in front of you, acting as a protection between you and the thing. “Dart?” Dustin asked the thing. It just stared at us, everyone then at once, including yourself, started suggesting things at the same time. “Get back, away from it.” You said, trying to grab Dustin’s wrist. “Shhhh. Stop.” He said and pulled away from you. “Dustin. Get back.” Steve said sternly. “Trust me, please.” Dustin was calm. Everyone stayed quiet as Dustin approached this thing.

“Hey. It’s me, it’s me. It’s just your friend, it’s Dustin.” Dustin removed his goggles so that Dart could see his face, then he bent down in front of it. “It’s Dustin, all right?” Dart slowly moved towards Dustin. “You remember me?” Dart looked calm as well. “Will you let us pass?” Suddenly Dart snarls at Dustin and it’s face opens. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I’m sorry about the storm cellar.” Dustin apologises, not even bothered by Dart’s threatening snarl. But as soon as Dustin apologises, Dart calms down. “That was a pretty douchey thing to do. You hungry, yeah?”

“He’s insane.” Lucas said behind you. “Don’t.” Mike defended. “Shut up.” Steve said, turning towards them. “I’ve got our favourite. See? Nougat.” Dustin pulled a bar our of his bag and showed it to Dart. He removed it from the packaging and dropped it on the floor for Dart to eat, “Look at that. Yummy. Here, all right?” as soon as Dart ducks down to eat it Dustin lifted his arm up and motioned for us to pass them. “Let’s go.” Steve mumbled. Dustin stood up and followed us, stopping to look at Dart once more. “Goodbye, buddy.” He said, and it broke your heart.

As soon as Dustin was with you again you started running, making your way towards the exit. Suddenly the whole ground shook, causing half of you to fall. “Jesus, what was that?” you questioned, then turned your head to the side when you heard loud growling. “They’re coming.” Mike muttered. “Run! Run!” He then yelled. You jumped up and ran faster than you thought possible. “There! There!” You screamed as you saw the rope, the one you climbed in with. “Come on! Let’s go!” Everyone was in a panic.

You stood on the other side of Steve as you and him both lifted Max up, so she could get out. You grunted when it was Lucas’s turn. “Take his hand!” You yelled up towards Max. “Come on! Pull him!” Steve yelled as well. You were just finished lifting Dustin up when the monster shrieks came closer. “Shit.” Was all you heard from Steve as he picked up his bat and waited. You stared past him with a blank face, you couldn’t do anything, it’s like your entire body shut down. “(Y/n)! Come on!” The kids yelled from above you, reaching out their hands towards you. “No!” You yelled, covering your face and dropping to the floor as the dogs came running around the corner towards you and Steve.

This is it, this is how you die.

Steve’s arm snaked around your torso as he pulled you up. “You’re not giving up on me!” Steve yelled out. Then suddenly something ran past you, and then another, and then another. You watched in shock as the Demodog’s ran past you and Steve, ignoring you completely. Once they were far away from you, you realised that you were leaning all your body weight onto Steve. His arm still tightly around your torso and his other hand tightly gripping his bat. “What the fuck!” You yelled, Steve let go of you slightly, your entire body was shaking. “(Y/n), come on.” Mike called from above you, all the kids were on their stomach, reaching out to you.

You grabbed on to the rope, but you had no power to pull yourself up, so Steve picked you up and the kids grabbed your arms, pulling you up. Once you were out of there you fell on to the floor and just laid there, staring up at the sky. Steve got out and he and the rest of the kids we’re standing over your body.

“Are you okay?” Max questioned, you just nodded. Suddenly the lights of the car became brighter and brighter, you just thought it was you and this is the light you’re supposed to walk in to, until you saw Steve and the gang kinda covering their faces. Hiding their eyes from the harshness of the lights. And just as it started it stopped, causing the lights to go back to normal.

You looked up at Steve, he was panting. “I need a fucking beer.” You mumbled, then out of nowhere the same pain shot through your head, and just like that, you passed out.
