I started this blog 10 years ago.
I had just turned 50 and it felt like such a monumental achievement for what I'd put my body though with how I'd lived my uncommon life that a blog seemed a celebratory way to go forward.
Now as I approach 60 I have that same feeling of accomplishment. Not so much from heavy partying but surviving a Minor Anterior Heart Attack, a Broken Calcaneus Bone, Open Heart Surgery to replace my Aortic Valve and this whole Covid thing. It's been a full decade of ups and downs.
In May I begin My Life at 60 and we'll see how this body holds up.

Supporters of the former President don't care that he broke laws, the only thing that matters is that he hates the same people they hate.

My NEW YEAR’S EVE outfit. Since we weren’t going out I decided to keep it low key and elegant.

I will be having open heart surgery on the 30 to replace my Aortic Valve which is failing. Could use all the positive energies and prayers to which ever higher power you believe in. Thank you!

SEATTLE AT NIGHT
I got a ride home from my parents house and as we drive into, through and past downtown Seattle I played a little with the settings on my camera and got these shots. It was fun to play with again after a period of record keeping, cataloguing and passports. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my photography work but I need to remember how much more I enjoy more photography fun.
Happy October!

DECORATING FOR THE 4TH OF JULY
This year for the 4th of July yard display I am making skyrockets! Since real ones pose such a fire hazard I wanted to make something that had the same sparkle but wouldn’t blow an arm off. My goal is to have 30-40 of these little babies made and ready to hang up by the first week of June.
Wish me luck!

IF YOU DON’T GET ALL THE BERRIES YOU WANT...
Bake a smaller pie!
A friend had been telling me about all the black berries that grow right outside her window so I told her I’d bake as many pies as berries she could deliver.
Unfortunately, with our snowfall last year, the blackberry vines had shifted further into the neighbors yard. Not being able to reach most, my friend presented me with a small bowl of the sweet berries and feeling quite embarrassed.
That night at home I found a glass pan that was a mere 6 inches across, perfect! I made the dough from scratch and prepared the berries. It turned out really rather cute.
The next day I returned to my friend’s place and presented her the pie. She laughed so hard and I knew she wasn’t feeling bad about the quantity anymore. We reheated it, cut it in half and dolloped vanilla ice cream on top. It tasted so good and enjoying it with her made it even sweeter.
