This is such a fact.

if i've learned anything about writing fic in the last few years, is that I cannot predict what story is going to take off and what's going to land like a lead balloon. My most popular work still makes me go "really?" I like it, but I wouldn't have said it was my best. My least popular story is MY favorite. The story I have the most comments on, is not the story I have the most kudos, or bookmarks. Trying to analyze the results will drive you crazy. Just sit back, have a laugh and keep writing

And always remember that popularity has nothing to do with quality. Fics have a life of their own when you release them into the wild. All you can do is look on with curiosity and see how the locals react.
