Ok so I saw it in the cinema and I kinda liked it? It def had a different vibe than the first two tho. It was a lot less serious?

My favourite part in the movie is for sure the bits with the doctor with them, I feel like if the movie had the samey vibe as the parts with the doctor it wouldve been a bit better? Idk tho. It feels like the movie locked in with the doctor.

Also what was up with Jimmy?? Jimmy was like aluded to during the whole movie. It started with him as a child and then his name was on the house and carved into the corpse. And where did he get his identical crew from?? Did he just gather any blonde lookalike he could find? His whole deal was very strange, especially because hes only in the very beginning and the very end. People on tiktok mentioned that the character was inspired (?) by Jimmy Saville, but eventhough I grew up in Britain I don't know the guy so I'm not sure.

Thoughts on Sacoglossan slugs stealing chlorophyll?

SO COOL

Today’s sea slug is the Sacoglossan sea slug Elysia chlorotica, which is one of several species of sacoglossan sea slug which is capable of extracting chloroplasts from the algae they feed on and storing them within their own cells.

This behaviour is known as kleptoplasty and these sea slugs are almost the only animals that can do this, with the others consisting of a group of flatworms.

This is super complicated because the chloroplasts actually produce toxic substances, as well as being very complicated to maintain (the sea slug MAY have genes from its algal prey gained over hundreds of thousands of years for this purpose, results of studies have contradicted each other). We’re not actually sure why they do it yet - it is likely some combination of camouflage, food source, enabling a higher reproductive output, helping to produce mucus.

Overall it’s a really weird evolutionary anomaly - even more so than at first glance - which is absolutely fascinating!!
