Her eyes blurred over the texts of ancient tomes, finding solace in old histories and laws that were no longer remembered except by a few. How long had it been? An hour? A few minutes? Long enough to cause a cramp in her neck and shoulders. Zelda held back a yawn, knowing full well eyes were on her from every angle.  - but then a voice from the nearby shadows caused her to stir, eyes blinking while she tilted her gaze just enough to view the outline of his figure in the corner. What.. did he just say?       “Pardon?” If she were a cucco, what an out of place comment. The words fell through her tired mind and the calm façade she presented cracked. 

“Heheh, that’s very good word play. Thank you.” Ah, perhaps she needed that to break through the monotony.

Symbol Headcanons // Accepting 

Does your muse like to wear jewelry? 

A simple ring or plain necklace would be more than enough for Zelda if given the choice.  Often times she finds jewelry just gets in the way when she’s studying or practicing her own abilities when alone.  The royal jewels are often placed upon her when in court and each time she wears them it feels as if the weight of the world and the kingdom is resting on her shoulders as a constant reminder that she belongs to more than just herself. And that can get frustrating - especially when the circlets give you blisters.

What's your muse's favorite kind of weather?

Rain. Thunder storms. They’re calming to listen to and help her sleep at night. Though, sometimes, they like to merge into her dreams when she’s being given a prophetic one, which can be quite disorienting. If Zelda ever wants time to relax on her own, rain is always the best way to achieve that, and helps her focus when she’s studying. She’d pray in a thousand temples, or pools, - under the threat of illness- if it meant she could do it in the rain.  It’s just so much easier to focus when there’s the rhythmic sounds of rain to drown out distractions.

Smell: If asked by a suitor, a noble or members of the Gentry, Zelda would be inclined to say, “Rain in the Gardens.” It’s simple, elegant, and true. She loves the scent of rain, especially around multitudes of flowers and other plant life. It’s calming. If asked by anyone else, she’d either refrain answering (if they’re a stranger) or admit that the smell of horses and leather is actually her favorite. Because those two scents mean she is either traveling or on her own and both mean she’s no longer caged inside a castle and her own, royal façade.

The stench of burning wood was strong. Too strong. And Zelda’s eyes watered from the billowing smoke surrounding Kakariko Village. It was devastating, the amount of power the creature from the well held was too much. Too much for her and...

She closed her eyes and took in a shaky breath. The name that ran across her thoughts both filled her with hope and worry that tangled into a knot she couldn’t undo.  Link...  be careful!

Only a few minutes had passed since she taught him the Nocturne of Shadow, disappearing as she often did once the song could play from his own instrument. Seeing him so damaged had concerned her. He’d succeeded so far, but could he truly do it when his next enemy was unseen by his eyes?  She grit her teeth and leaned against the charred wall of the building she’d hid herself behind. To  Link, she had disappeared in a flash of light, but in all actuality, her own injuries wouldn’t allow her to get very far. 

Zelda winced at the memory, her side bruised and sore from the earlier attack. She’d put on a brave front as Shiek, but now it was hard to hold back the whimpers of pain. Breathe in... breathe out... you are Shiek. Shiekah do not reveal their pain. Pain is a weakness. Breathe.... breathe...

Her glamoured red eyes flashed open at the sound of rustling grass, the sharp approach of boots in the dirt, the familiar yet foreign aura she felt come near. Reflexively, she moved to hide herself, withdrawing the dagger at her hip, while she faced this newcomer. He hadn’t found her had he?! No, the grip weakened on the hilt and she wavered, uncertain who or what she was looking at. This wasn’t Link... but at the same time.. She strengthened her grip and looked for the nearest escape route.        “Why are you here?” She asked, the magic of her glamour masked her voice to the guise she took, and her greeting was everything, but cordial.  Dark Link.. the shadow faced in the Water Temple.

*There are many games in the Loz series that Zelda can portray on this blog, following the game canon as well as my own specific headcanons (or what is plotted between me and others.) Each game universe will be tagged for their specific game to keep things separate. These Games (verses) are:

Any Universe outside this list, will be a separate canon of Zelda played as a Zelda whose drifted to these universes, but is not the Zelda from that time or universe. More information will come on that with later headcanons.  This verse will be called the, “Beyond Time” verse.

Crossovers are more than welcome and will be created, written as plotted between myself and others.

Hello one and all! If you’ve found me, then welcome! There’s not much here, but I’ve come to try my hand at portraying Zelda from the Legend of Zelda series. I’m hoping to get more things here pretty soon!

All Lives In One:

Zelda, once she has grown into her power, has the ability to access all memories of her previous lives, no matter the universe/dimension/timeline. These memories grant her insight into knowledge and wisdom that most would not expect or deem forgotten or lost to history. (Or absolutely unreal.) 

She can’t access these memories all at once. The multitude or lives her spirit has lived through would be too great for her mind to process all together, but the knowledge she needs can come to her when she needs it. Sometimes these memories come at times when, for all she can tell, they’re not needed at all. 

Those are the most confusing to decipher of all.
