WHILE THE RULES TO THE EVENT SHE WAS ATTENDING were foreign to her. the scream for help was easily detected in her voice. the need and desire to help the stranger immediately kicked in, making her answer far more eager then she intended to. " you are more then welcome. i can assure you, the mama's shall not bother you in my vicinity. " it was the reality of her occupation, one she had settled with a long time ago.
"Can I please stand with you? I don't think I can deal with another if my mother's attempts to set me up with another suiter." A sigh of dismay leaves her lips, tucking the loose strange of hair behind her ear with an exhaled sigh. Lips pursed together, she smiles in their direction before folding her arms across her chest. "If I am not too much of a burden."

SQUINTING INTO THE DARKNESS, daphne could have sworn she saw the outline of her sister in the distance. while the darkness painted a picture of her desire of madness, the scent of a cigar being smoked was aromating the air. she didn't need to close the distance to be made aware that it indeed was her sister whom was hiding. the ringing of her voice was enough indication for her. " eloise ?! what on earth are you doing ?? here alone in the utter dark !! what mustn't the ton think ?! you ought to be more careful. "
the woman stopped mid-inhale as she gathered her thoughts - something about lady whistledown and her own theories did not match up - but ended up just sighing as she lost her train of thought. eloise has probably stayed up too late again to form any logical explanations. a rustle from her right side caught her attention and she turned -- "hello?" her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "who goes there?"

HAZEL ORBS OBSERVED WITH A SPARK OF DELIGHT. while his words shouldn't provide much comfort, in fact it should provoke a fear within her of her wrong doing. instead the notion of the mystery provide a much needed excitement. " do tell what is on your mind. you must have done something immensely wrong to assume i might spill a perfectly fine glass of champagne. "
"i thought i'd bring you refreshments." theo offers the glass only to pull back at the last moment, keeping it just out of reach. "but first...i want to ask you something and you must promise not to throw this delightfully bubbly champagne in my face."

THE PRESSURE OF A CORSET STRUNG TO TIGHT was a pain cressida had become far to familiar with. whilst performing on the stage, it had occurred often enough that the air was squeezed from her lungs. the needed oxygen for her performance was much needed, yet somehow found insignificant to the art of a play. " oh my, of course i shall help. " bending at the knees to lower herself, she claimed the delicate jewel between her nimble fingers. " please bring me your wrist, i shall clasp it back on for you. "
"oh dear." eyes flick to the floor to the bracelet that slipped off her wrist as she was adjusting her headpiece between songs. it was a well paid event, even her costume was entirely new. "could you help me pick that up? i'm afraid this corset does not allow me to bend down for it."

THE NEED TO HIDE A GRIN INTENDED ON SETTLING ON HER LIPS was growing by the words spoken out loud. it was easily detected that the man wasn't interested in the dancing, which wasn't quite common. " i believe it is not only the lords whom hope and long for a partner who know the steps to the dance. i have had my fair share of toes being harmed in the act of a dancer unskilled and unprepared. "
open to all !
" ladies spend hours learning these steps ? i'm certain us lords simply hope we're paired with a knowledgable partner. " a slight jest, but ezra was fairly certain he'd not spent nearly as long as others. perhaps he should have, but then he would not have the excuse to avoid being paired up for the night.

TENDER LIPS CURVED TO A HUMBLED SMILE when the lady before her uttered her wonder of the dances. the allure of the ball was everything unlike anything cressida ever had the chance of exploring on her own. it was a praised night after all and she was going to appreciate any second of it. " it depends on the skills of the dancer. are you well rounded in dance or are you new to the endeavor ?? "
open to all !
" these dances are quite unlike those in austria. " sophia's accent is only barely recognizable, years of tutoring in english and other languages so she could seamlessly blend into any setting. her parents wanted nothing but the best for their children. " how long does it take one to learn such steps ? " knowing the language was one thing, it seemed, learning the dances another.

MUSCLES TENSED AT THE WORDS THAT PROVOKED A MINOR JUMP SCAR. daphne's mind had been wandering, her gaze taking in the grandeur of the queens ball. his presence suddenly made aware brought her attention back to the presence. for a moment she pondered whether the man directly next to her was uttering these words to her or the general vicinity. her etiquette made her act upon it either way. " i never had the chance to try it out, therefore i cannot agree nor disagree. "
declining an invitation from the queen would be like sentencing oneself to a lifelong grudge, which simon isn’t going to risk, especially since his presence in london has been noted. he quickly downs his drink, attempting to look like he wants to be here. he seems to be failing with the almost permanent frown on his lips. “at least the liquor never disappoints,” he says to the person beside him, catching them off guard.

GROWING UP WITH A HURDLE OF BROTHERS, daphne was aware of the scheming and lying that involved to prevent their reputation with their parents to be tainted. therefore witnessing the man before her claiming the bottle as his own wasn't quite out of the ordinary to her. " i am entirely unaware what it is you are speaking of. " the twinkle in her eye indicates the blatant lie.
michael had taken yet another glass of wine, enjoying himself. he hardly ever went to these types of things, however he knew that if the queen invited your family and you did not turn up, it was an insult. john would be down soon from kilmartin, but there was some land problems he had to deal with, and if he came, only to find michael had botched their family name, he'd never hear the end of it. besides, he wouldn't do that to john, was closer to him than most were with their siblings. he was about to take the whole bottle and sneak away when he noticed someone was looking at him ❝promise not to tell and i'll share❞ he winked.
