Don't judge me merely because you think you know anything about me or because I am a product of DNA and I am not exactly like you. If you love me, love me for being ME and except me for who I have become and how far I have come. Take a hard look in the mirror and wash your hands before you speak about anyone.

“Bob Marley and his band the Wailers came to Oakland’s Paramount Theater on May 30, 1976. Personally, I was not a huge fan of reggae music, but I was curious about what made him so popular. One whiff as I entered the beautiful venue told me all I needed to know. In fact, I didn’t need to go inside to smell the familiar scent. People were openly smoking on the street out side the Paramount. At any rate, he put on a great show just from a visual sense, and I was able to walk up next to the stage without any hassle. I just tried to keep a low profile and stay out of people’s way.” Photographer: Chris Bradford

Lowell Taubman Remembering The Boston, 1976 Concert
“My memory is pretty sharp regarding  that special night back in April 25th 1976, when I had 2  $7.50 orchestra seats and took the most beautiful woman in the world to see Bob Marley and The Wailers. (I don’t remember her name )   She went home before me, and I moved up to the orchestra pit, at the Wailers’ feet.
I remember Bob on stage looking at me during the show, walking across the stage after the show, then backstage, then his dressing room, then the stage door, then going on the bus…
I had a Kodak camera and wound up in front of Bob for most of the show.  There were very few photographers there and I ended up standing in the Orchestra pit, at Bob’s feet, next to another photographer, whose name I believe was  David  Malhado. I  was certain that it was a special night, especially once that child appeared on stage and sang with Bob.”
