As a slightly mischievous smile crossed her features, a quiet laugh escaped the princess’ lips. “I know you were,” she admitted with a playful grin. “Though you may have a bit too much confidence in me,” she admitted somewhat doubtfully. “I just hope you’re right.”

Funny, how mere months ago, Luke wouldn't even have considered becoming this: a monster in every aspect of the word. He stepped closer, unable to suppress his grin. "Now, why don't you get away from the security panel, and I won't have to slice you in half. Doesn't that sound like a good deal?"

Part of Luke, a very small part, recoiled in surprise at his words. R2 was his friend...was. Still, the thought of destroying such an old companion brought a small amount of discomfort. He'd have to learn how to squash that down.

"Also, why don't you tell me where the rest of your friends are? Where's Leia? Han? I'm sure they're around here somewhere."

He was nervous, and would be sweating if his metal contained pores. But instead, he fidgeted with the security panel next to the door. Attempting to force it open. However, it was no use. The damn thing wouldn’t budge, and now R2 was cornered.

I should have known, his father ruined everything, why wouldn’t he?

Molding his fear into a state of anger and disgust, the astromech regarded Luke with disdain.

Did something bad happen?" No matter how old he was, Luke would never run out of questions upon Anakin's return from missions. "I want to know everything--or most things. Whatever you can tell me! It wasn't dangerous, was it? At least you didn't get hurt. Mother would be so worried if you did. As would I!"

A slight chuckle escaped the Jedi as his son made his way over to him. It was always a pleasant surprise, no matter how old Luke was– no matter how long he had been a father. “Thank you. And…it could have gone better, but it was a success, regardless.” There were always SO MANY questions whenever Anakin returned home, and if anything, they all amused him. “He’s fine. No, I didn’t. And I will, now where’s your sister?”
