the-mjolnir-owner:
The people of this far away planet were not used to rain, apparently, and they had interesting reactions to it. Thor would sit and watch if he wasn’t fuming with anger, sadness and something else he couldn’t quite understand.
Shaking his head, he didn’t want to hear a word Loki had to say. If those words were really important, she’d have come to talk to him sooner, but he was, as he had always been, an inconvenience in her life. He wouldn’t make her waste her precious time on him anymore, he had places to go and things to do.
“What do you call it then? Love? Lying and manipulating someone into thinking you died for the third time? I know what love is, Loki, and I believe you’ve never felt it for anyone but yourself. And I don’t drink anymore.”
The crowd gathered to watch his shouts, but parted as soon as he turned to them, blinded by fury and tears.
“I don’t want that woman to follow me,” he pointed to Loki as he entered the bar, Quill and Drax blocking her entrance as if they were Thor’s bodyguards. Inside the bar, Thor took some really deep calming breaths and tried really hard not to break anything, electricity cracking around him as the bartender hid behind the sink.
All the people who hurt Thor met their deaths at the hands of the Thunderer, all but Loki. Loki was the person who hurt him the most in his life, but she still remained intact because Thor would never hurt her the way she hurt him.
Loki would never hurt him again.
For all the effort Loki has ever put in making people believe that she is every bit the heartless, manipulative trickster that she pretends to be, she actually is rather sensitive. All of that was just a mask. An elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate attempt at control.
Loki has always hated being alone. Has always been scared of not being enough. Being cast aside. So much so, that she tried pushing everyone away before they could do it to her. Fandral, Sif, Volstagg and Hogun were done with her pretty quickly once she began acting up. But Thor... Thor had always been willing to forgive her and give her another chance. A second, third, fourth, fifth and --- well probably well over hundred, honestly.
So, him turning away like this... She doesn’t believe it. She doesn’t WANT to believe it. Sure, he’s been mad before and he always came around. He’ll come around again, right?
Thor has always been there for her, even when she did the most horrible things to him. She tried to kill him, after all.
Her heart still aches when she thinks back to it.
Loki swallows as she hears Thor tell his friends to make sure she doesnt follow.
Well, tough shit on them. They can’t stop her.
“I’m sorry, boys, but I think I’m just going to ---” And she teleports right past them. Loki cannot teleport too far without the tesseract, however, so as soon as she’s gone by them, she quickens her pace to follow Thor into the bar.
“Thought you didn’t want to go to the bar. Change of heart, brother?” She muses, tone awkwardly playful. Hoping that maybe, if she acted like she always has, things would go back to the way they were... but she knows deep down that it is futile.
That realisation causes a sigh to escape her lips. “I know you’d probably rather not see me right now, but... I want to explain. Everything. I promise to give you answers to any and all questions you have. In full. No lies. Promise...” Her voice is soft now, trying her best to actually sound vulnerable, to show him she means it.
