I don't have time to draw anything for Digital Devil Saga's 20th anniversary 😭

But funny story: Sera inspired me to get my hair cut short and it's been that way for about 18 years now. My mum tried to talk me out of it and the hairdresser kept asking if I was ok. They were both v. concerned lmao

I made a cryo sleep pod/scifi bed? I'm not really sure what it is. It's not perfect - I just wanted to try rigging for the first time.

Does it look comfy or claustrophobic? You decide 😅

Every time I have a stressful day at work I go out and buy a plant on my lunchbreak to give myself a serotonin boost.

...I now have 60 odd plants. Most of them are small, but I feel like this says something 🙃

There's been a ton of progress since my last update :D

I have:

Painted a new skin texture using better brushes

Reworked her face a tiny bit - mostly the jaw line/lips

Modelled new headgear (I like her better without it atm, but that may change.)

Modelled the undersuit

Started on the armour - The elbow joint was difficult, but I think I've gotten the hang of it now. It bends!

Still to do:

Teeth

Hands - These will be basic. I might even just use a normal map and sculpt the finger joints/add plating ontop. I'm not skilled enough to attempt a posable robot hand lol

Knee joints - Looking forward to doing these. The elbow was a lot of fun once I figured it out.

Legs

Feet - Boots, basically

Spine - It's visble above the lower back. I think this might a tough one but I hope I'm wrong.

Shading & texturing

Phew! Time to take a break I think...

I was on holiday last week for my birthday, so of course I spent it modelling. Just the UVing and textures to do on the undersuit, then I can finally start on the armoured pieces. Big milestone! :D

New headgear! This went a lot smoother than I was expecting, so I feel like I'm in a much better position to tackle her armour now and get this project done. I redid her hair and I think it's a big improvement, what do you think?

It’s my birthday on Tuesday and I’ve got the week off from work, so I’m looking forward to getting some serious work done on my Arlo model.

New project! Been trying my hand at sculpting (as opposed to poly-modelling, which is how I made Eos). It's tricky, but a lot of fun :D

This'll be Arlo when I'm done with it, so hopefully you can already see bits of him starting to come through. It's hard to tell without any eyebrows/hair but trust me, the references do match up lol There’s no body, just a head/shoulders bust

I did A LOT of facial sketches for this, so I'll probably dump them online at some point. They're not very detailed or exciting, but I quite enjoy seeing other people's thought processes, so maybe you will too.

The plan is to alternate between this and my Eos model, so when I’m taking a break from one I’ll work on the other. I’ll be putting this one down for a bit after I’ve worked a bit more on the ears and tweaked a few things

Sooo I've been teaching myself Blender since last March. I decided to have a go at modelling one of my OCs as my first big project (Eos, my android girl). Check out the concept art above if you’re curious.

I've also started modelling a realistic head and I'm planning on using this account to document my progress. The tutorial I bought before Christmas is very long and detailed and I've learned so much about anatomy already. I modelled Eos the old fashioned way, so it's been a lot of fun learning how to properly sculpt!

The AI bullshit was the last straw. If you're on DA be careful - they're opting everyone's work into their AI generator by default. You need to go into every single deviation to opt-out of it. I decided it was time to leave.
