anyway while working on that scumcum mermay piece i did a bunch of little mer!SY chibis, partly to test out the design, but mostly to procrastinate

originally i had him in robes in my initial, very rough sketches, but it felt too cluttered to me; i wanted the silhouette tho, so i tried to mimic the effect with frills & scales

for all the good it did since you cannot see the front in the final piece, but whatever!! the goal was procrastination, and i love drawing little chibis, therefore it served its purpose
