everyone on replies is terrified of this fact but i just think it's so sweet and heartwarming. she's holding our hand and leading us somewhere secret and we're both giggling like kids. i love her

Crosshair and Echo Sibling Thoughts

Thinking about the head canon that as an elite sniper, Crosshair has trained himself to the point that you cannot see him breathing when he's lining up for a shot or perhaps playing dead when a mission requires it. He can just flatten out like roadkill and keep his respirations so slow and even that even Hunter would think he was dead if the sergeant couldn't hear his heartbeat.

He also does this in his sleep. He doesn't mean to, it just happens. As soon as he falls asleep he does such a good impression of a corpse, limp limbs and all, that Wrecker usually pokes him every hour or so to make sure he's actually still alive.

UNFORTUNATELY no one told Echo this when he joined Clone Force 99. He has trouble sleeping after Skakko (understandably) so he's just glancing around the quiet Marauder on his first night, content to be with a family again and then "Wait...Crosshair's not breathing?!"

So Echo has a mild panic attack and Crosshair wakes up to his new, now-terrified brother in his face like this trying to see if he's dead or not.

Crosshair hisses and swats to make Echo get out of his face, Echo hugs him because he's so happy he's not DEAD, Wrecker and Hunter have a good laugh because they forgot to mention that Crosshair is an opossum and Tech just rolls over on his other side to continue sleeping.
