REPHRASING A PREVIOUS POST BECAUSE I TYPED IT STUPID AND NO ONE GOT IT

i meant an au where after he failed the experimentation of hj7 on himself he finds he likes experimenting on himself and starts conducting more self experimentation *outside* of hyde and hj7

he likes the dangers and post pone euphoria of hj7 and creates more potions to try, causing more severe irreversible physical and psychological damage. he injects things into certain limbs and combines fluids from himself with other ingredients and ingests it and conducts literally anything else he can think of on himself just to see what would happen. he has completely abandoned the ideals of ethical science and by the end he probably has radiation poisoning as well as a million other things with also 1 less limb and he just drops dead

i often think about jekyll going out as hyde for the first time and finding soo much relief in not having to control himself anymore, only to be overcome with fear when he realizes he cant control himself anymore

i dont think a lot of people realize why separating the good and evil of someone isnt possible, so im going to try and explain it ^_^

to sum it up rq: what the good and evil actually are is the moral code and animal instincts of a person. having both is what makes us human. if one was taken away or separated, we'd lose our humanity.

firstly, there is no good and evil. the good and evil jekyll is referring to is his repressed desires and impulses. but, as i described in one of my previous posts, there's a reason for these desires and impulses. to sum it up, that reason is the animal instinctual need for whatever benefit you may get by doing it. there is no consequences or guilt when it comes to instincts. the reason these must be controlled is because some of these, especially jekyll's, instincts, impulses, and desires goes against society's morals.

i think a lot of people have already know that, but because the separation between them is distinct, why is it physically impossible? because having both is what separates us between animals and robots. animals only have animal instincts, experiencing very little guilt or fear of consequences, especially if they aren't domestic. their lack of awareness is what puts them lower in the food chain, what makes them 'stupider'. robots, on the other hand, have nothing besides the principles and ethics that they're programmed with. they have no instincts or desires to do anything outside of what they've been told is right. this is also why we fear them gaining any sort of soul or natural instincts, because of the power that comes with it. people have both, we have been gifted with both instincts and morals, nature and nurture. if either were taken away, we would no longer be human, wed lose our humanity.

there are so many possibilities when it comes to other symptoms of HJ7 that isnt told to us and i cannot stop thinking about it

vomiting, distorted vision, twitching, breathing problems, increased appetite, muscle numbness, false memories, auditory hallucinations, increased heart beat, hypersensitivity, lack of sensitivity, stretch marks, damaged vocal chords, memory loss, increased blood loss, swollen muscles, tics, abnormal pain, poor circulation, dizziness, nose bleeds, peeling skin, weight loss

I like imagining after jekylls first transformation, parts of his appearance dont go back to the way they were

I dont necessarily mean its changed to how it's like when he transforms into Hyde, I mean some part of him cant transform back to how it originally was and is forever altered or disfigured. OOooo maybe even after every transformation one specific feature will never be the same again.

To be fairr it is a potion thats supposed to separate the psychologically repressed version of a being from the rest of them, so whatever it physically transforms along the way cant be perfect.

im a big fan of giving edward hyde bad habits. Habits that are somewhat frowned upon, habits jekyll can control but he cant. Habits like biting his nails and lips, pulling his hair, and picking his scabs. Habits he indulges in constantly because he physically cant stop himselff, which causes these small insignificant things to leave him in pain and bleeding. Habits he does sub consciously and doesnt realize until its too late and it hurts and hes bleeding. :']

Im sure everyone around him notices these habits and how he just cannot stop, and how damaging it is. His lack of control and self awareness is probably the first and last thing people notice about him

Hey do you ever think about how the entirety of The Strange Case is told in the past tense. So when the books says “I let my brother go to the devil in his own way, he [Utterson] used to say quaintly” to us this is the beginning of the book, but to Gabe he has already been through everything. Do you ever think that he stopped saying this little phrase of his because of Jekyll. That he USED to be kind and trusting of everyone, and non judgmental of peoples faults, but Jekylls crimes and betrayal changed him somehow? That’s after the events of the book the greif and trauma changed him and he actually is no longer the lovely perfect comfort man we know and love but someone much colder, jaded, and isolated??? I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY BUT NEVER KNOW HOW TO PUT IT INTO WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PROBABLY SUCKS TO READ. but again plssss hear me out. talking more about hydes impulsiveness cuz its not just 'murder kill drugs violent kill sex murder'

im not a doctor in any way but i do wanna say that impulsive thoughts do have some reasoning for being there, though it may be extremely stupid and dangerous. ((btw im not talking about what causes the lack of self control, im talking about why the impulsive thoughts are that thought.)) most impulses come from either the seeking of some feeling (most often hysteria, thrill, or humor) or experiencing things you havent (such as what does this feel like? what happens to me if i do this? you may already know by common sense, but the curiosity isnt calmed by that) but other impulses like stealing not only come from the possible thrill, but the reward of it. the entire reason stealing is such a strong and common impulse is because you know the item youre stealing has some value to you, its instinct to take what can benefit you. even when blurting random shit out, theres a reason your brain thought of it in the first place. but most of the time impulsive thoughts are from craving thrill or curiosity. !!!importantly: what the brain perceives as having somee sort of reaction depends on how disordered and nurtured the mind is. its unique per person

this is not only why hydes impulses arent the same 4 things over and over, but why a lot of impulses are really strange and unusual. because of jekylls stress of maintaining an extremely respectable and gold hearted genius rep. and the amount of hours he spends working on this, it makes sense for his and therefore hydes impulses and desires to be the opposite, something risky and dangerous and frowned upon. to get some form of euphoria or freedom he typically doesnt get but craves ohhhh he craves it so bad. but this can be literally anything, not just violence and drugs. it can range from physical or psychological self harm to breaking furniture to eating unsanitary and inedible things to mocking people to literallylyly anythinggg!!!!

this man is not only here to have sex and do 1886 drugs he is here to be everything jekyll wants to be but cannot without serious backlash and consequence!!! he is the traumatized animal instincts of the mind!!! do not limit this man to 4 actions. edward hyde does stupid shit like throw glass at birds and then eats the bird and also the glass bcs fuck you and also im hungry!!!!1 he pisses in peoples drinks probably in front of them cuz thats rlly fucking funny!!!
