Wow. Okay. Breathes and tries to contain my anger bc as I age I DO actually see the rampant ageism in the rpc, an example exhibited here. And clearly it goes beyond just FCs and preferred character types. It’s toward muns too.

The fact is, there is no magic age where you wake up and say “that’s it!!! I will not write in this social community I helped build and heavily contributed to for almost a decade anymore”!!! There is no age when you tell yourself you’re “too old” for things that bring you pleasure, joy and freedom. You’re in for such a rude awakening when you discover 25 is far from old and 30 is literally just a meaningless number. Why is everyone on this website so afraid of aging? It’s scary how often I see people weaponize age as if it’s even relevant or a good argument to make.

Look, I understand that millennials and gen zs have this like.. barrier. A line around the ages 22-25 where people feel separation because our experiences are different but people! CAN STILL COEXIST AT THE SAME TIME! I can be close as fuck to someone 18-19 and call them a good friend and learn from them and vice versa. Generational gaps do not automatically equate to not being able to relate to one another!!!! Why do you hate people in this community so much just because they’re not in your perfect age range? What makes you think you’re automatically better than someone in this community just because they have a few years on you? It literally means nothing. And it sounds to me like you have some internalized hatred for the hobby you enjoy that you’re projecting onto me (and others in my age bracket) that just don’t care anymore and live freely on this website trying to fucking create.

I wish people didn’t have to write 21+ on their app to feel comfortable. I wish people didn’t have to live in fear of being ostracized online in a community they’ve felt safe in for some, past a decade now, just because they’re not in college anymore. Let people fucking live if they’re not hurting anyone loser.

Basics.

Prometheus Productions has announced its first ever dare event titled “Your Choice,” where all dares are submitted by the public for contracts to follow through on. What all characters are unaware of (and are anxious to find out) are the dares themselves! None of them will be revealed to them until the moment they are dared to do them, where they will be left with a choice to complete it and earn points or decline it and lose points.

However!

You (as a player) will know these dares in advance!

As stated previously, the severity of the dares are listed within 4 levels. As a player, if you would like to participate, you must fill out this form (located here) with the highest level you as a mun feel comfortable playing with your character. In character, the dares are “randomly” selected, meaning they will have no control over what dare is given to them. Of course, Cora or others may hand-select certain dares for certain contracts or even behind the scenes members. You are more than welcome to have your character speculate.

When signing up for a level, you also inherit all dares from the levels beneath it. For example, if you choose level 3, you will not see any dares from level 4 but all those from Levels 1-3 will be at your disposal.

There are plenty of skeletons to be filled, and also love that you say that you are a little flexible with your characters, too. A lot of admins will be stuck to one idea and won’t be open to any changes, which I feel is their own detriment in terms of gaining apps. Nothing wrong with sticking to a vision, but in my experience (since I did the exact same thing once long ago) it doesn’t pan out.

Carrol, California is a small town, close knit in character as well as out. Only a couple of hours from LA, it's the ideal place for all your oc musicians and celebs to get away from the hustle and bustle and paparazzi. CHEF MERCIER WAS ONCE THE TOAST OF NEW YORK’S HAUTE CUISINE, and the issue with a food-related idiom is that they’re fucking overdone: just like him. Previously known as one of the youngest chefs to earn two Michelin Stars, a rockstar of the cooking world, and a culinary genius, his burn out is as well-known as his golden days. Over half a decade ago, Mercier’s lifestyle of drugs, women, and innovation (increasingly in that order over time) caught up to him, resulting in a series of cataclysmic event that saw his stars stripped and his restaurant closed. After a period of intensified debauchery centered in New York, the chef disappeared in a self-imposed exile, severing contact with all who once knew him.

It’s been six years since Mercier left cooking, and now, as a Gene Kelly film is titled, there is an American in Paris. Having served the punishment he dealt himself, Mercier has arrived in one of the few culinary capitals more prestiguous than his old stomping grounds, fully intent not on atonement - but success. Relying on the generosity of an old coworker (friend, perhaps is too generous a terminology after the end in New York), he encourages the closure, renovation, and complete reinvention of a space until it becomes THE LADY NUIT, a new restaurant bearing his name beneath the gold-leaf title. “Lady Night?” The maitre’d had scoffed. “No. C’este stupide. may as well flat out call it the Lady of the Night, Prostitute, Hooker –” “Exactly.” Mercier interrupted. “The name stays. I want everyone that walks through those doors to get fucked.” But the bridges Chef Mercier burned in New York still flame visibly behind him, and warm the backs of everyone who joins his side: only a handful of his former staff, the rest wholly untested as a unit meant to work together. Meanwhile, the remainder of the city waits: Unsure whether to anticipate glory, or a brilliant, blazing disaster.

sweetbitter runs parallel to the plot of john wells’s 2015 film BURNT, and surrounds the staff of an haute cuisine restaurant soon to open in paris. its head chef is hungry for his 3rd michelin star, and the group will focus on both the professional & personal lives of the staff members of the lady nuit – as they collide and either explode into grace or implode with the pressure. this is an unofficial group meant to offer a collaborative, fun experience to players!

You brought me out of semi-retirement, so that’s nice of you! You certainly have a lot of room to grow in this RPG, and it’s cool that you’re trying to set up a safe place for everyone to throw their own character into. My only piece of advice would be that if you do have mature themes, that you possibly make it 18+, but your rules are very clear about not allowing smut to those that are in the range where they should never be allowed to. Overall, though, it looks very welcoming and I hope you guys have a smooth ride with it!
