Every student put their all into it but this year, RMSST serves as the number one school with the top app developers in the Fourth Congressional District and they deserve to be applauded for that. Technology, innovation and data are the foundation of the economic future of this country. These young people have developed some unique apps that they can continue to build on; not only be useful for mankind, but also to possibly support themselves and their families. #Congress4CS @congressionalappchallenge @rockdaleschools https://ift.tt/2Ex0Nmh

A group of conservation organizations is seeking a court order to block dangerous seismic airgun blasting for offshore oil in the Atlantic. The blasts could irreparably harm the small population of the critically endangered North Atlantic right whales, a species on the verge of extinction. The Trump administration’s approval for five companies to harm these whales and other ocean animals with seismic blasting violates bedrock laws, including the Marine Mammal Protection Act, the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Visit oceana.org/blocktheblast for ways you can help #ProtectOurCoast & #BlockTheBlast @oceana https://ift.tt/2TXnvud

For far too long, Congress has offered moments of silence instead of action in the wake of gun tragedies. That era is over. #TakingAction #EndGunViolence @repjahanahayes http://bit.ly/2GFxsZM

Congressman receives 100% on Humane Scorecard for 115th Congress: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, announced Wednesday that he received a 100% from @humanesociety for his voting record, co-sponsorship of legislation and leadership in helping prevent cruelty to animals. “How we treat animals as a society speaks to how we treat fellow human beings and all life on planet earth,” said Johnson. “Animals are capable of feeling pain and suffering just like people. We must make every effort to protect their welfare as well.” http://bit.ly/2CR5uXk

After meeting with federal workers and hearing their stories, struggling to keep their lights on and feed their families, I wonder #WheresMitch. The House has done its part. Join me in calling on our senators to make #MitchMcConnell bring 1 of 9 bills to the desk of @realdonaldtrump to re-open the government. http://bit.ly/2FNCanT

According to the CDC: "Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently, but millions of people get the flu every year, hundreds of thousands of people are hospitalized and thousands or tens of thousands of people die from flu-related causes every year. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to help protect against flu. Vaccination has been shown to have many benefits including reducing the risk of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and even the risk of flu-related death in children." http://bit.ly/2QxYAuZ
