this is why fic writers (as well as all other content creators; im just singling out fic writers for this particular post) get discouraged and demotivated. look at the like vs. reblog ratio. it’s ridiculous. 

this is why tumblr is dying. because people won’t share the content they enjoy. likes are nice and all, but reblogs are what help a piece of art (whether it be writing, gifsets, etc.) reach a wider audience. it’s important to remember that fic writers are providing all of this for you in their spare time, and what’s even crazier is that they’re doing it for free. this interaction is a two-way street. you can’t just consume content and then pretend like it doesn’t exist.

it’s not greedy to ask for feedback. it’s not greedy to ask for recognition. i feel like a broken record here, but it seems as though people just can’t get it through their heads: reblog the fics you like. reblog the art you like. reblog the edits you like. reblog the CONTENT you like.
