she loves seeing spock smile. dad says he does it so rarely, but she doesn’t think so because he’s always smiling when she’s around ?? her dad was known to have proclivity for dramatics & she doesn’t doubt that this is another shining example of that. his smile is wide when they are together & she’s not egotistical enough to think it’s because of her. “ it’s a good surprise !! “ she rolls her eyes at her dad’s dramatics, almost immediately slipping into step next to him. “ so what’re we doin’ first ?? dad says there’s a great vegetarian place nearby ?? “ she would never understand her dad & spock’s choice to not eat meat. she couldn’t like without a steak. 

      part of the enjoyment of seeing joanna, aside from merely enjoying her presence, was seeing the similarities & dissimilarities between the girl & her father. while leonard tends to gravitate toward a prickly disposition, joanna is quite the opposite. her expression is bright & bubbly nearly every time spock has seen her. leonard could be every bit as illuminating as her, but he seemed to hide it behind clouds of mystery.

      joanna’s happy demeanor is infectious, so he can’t help but smile around her. with a small tilt of his head & lifts his shoulders and says,  “ the day is yours. we can do whatever you would like. ”
