“Which part? The big home? Fer one person, it’d be lonely, aye? Not t’mention the bigger the home the more of a chance something would go wrong in it.” Blue eyes followed Diarmuid around his home as he stretched out on the carpet like a large cat. 

“Y’feel cute, don’tcha?”

              ❝  WHAT do ye mean ?  ❞  he inquires in confusion as he tosses a glance over his shoulder at the god, ascending the small steps up into the carpeted living room . his hands collect his long tresses up into a ponytail, though with no hairband to tie it with, he’ll have to go to his room to retrieve one . ❝  i’ll be right back, i’m goin te find somethin’ te tie all this tedious hair with …  ❞  he says, disappearing down the hall adjacent to the living room . when he returns, he’s tied it into a high ponytail, a few stray curls framing his face . admittedly, he feels quite pretty … but despite that, he doesn’t plan on keeping this look forever .

“It’s cute enough.” Loki coos, slipping off his shoes as he enters the comfortably small abode and scooting them aside. The door clicks shut behind him and Loki makes a face at it, flicking one of the locks and making clovers coil about it. “It suits ya. Besides, big places don’t usually last long, yeah?” The God looks about briefly, feeling a bit snoopy, but eventually follows the man into the other room.

              ❝  THAT remains te be seen, hm ? i’m not keepin’ this long hair and ears,  ❞  he says, and finally stops at a small little house with flowers perched upon its windows, keys fished out of his pockets to unlock the front door and welcome his guest inside . ❝  this … is me home . granted, it’s small and nothin’ special, but … it’s cozy and suits me fine . make sure te take yer shoes before ye enter the living room, aye ?  ❞  he says, taking off his own shoes and leaving them by the door .

“Maybe. If that’s the way it is, then that’s fine, I’ll accept. But you won’t win, and a draw is unlikely..” 

             ❝  ARE ye tryin’ te be fair with me, then ? how sweet of ye . then i suppose that if it’s a draw, both of us get what we desire .  ❞

“That’s good. Still a good son after so long, huh? He’d be proud. Probably.”

“Don’t feel bad. It’s not like it’s yer fault or anythin’, besides, I had Balder and Thor, so it’s not like I was completely alone.” He reassured with a smile. “What happened to me ain’t got nothin’ to do with your past, aye. No worries. I’m glad ya got someone t’look up to.”

              THE knight seems to beam almost as bright as the sun at that; the simple idea that he takes after his father in any way, for surely his admiration and adoration for him has never once faded ― not with time, not with death …                                 ❝  aye … lots of fond memories . father, he … well, he was like sunlight . as warm as he could be scalding hot . a lot of him resides in me, and knowing that fills me with an inexplicable joy …  ❞  he muses, lifting his arms to rest his hands behind his head . 

              then his smile fades, arms dropping to his sides as he he looks at the other, silent tiers parted in surprise . how ill-mannered he must seem, talking about his father in the presence of someone who has never tasted the pleasure of being raised by one ?                  ❝  i … loki, my apologies ― i didn’t mean te be so insensitive and inconsiderate …  ❞

“But ya only go back to normal if ya win.”

              ❝  DOESN’T it usually go that if it’s a draw, both of us lose ?  ❞

“And if it’s a draw?” He questioned curiously, idly twirling a bit of his red hair. “What should happen then?”

             ❝  AYE, just wait ‘till we get te drinkin’ …  ❞  he replies, tossing the other a wink .     ❝  and there is indeed somethin’ i want … i wish te be treated te some chili cheese fries . they’re me favorite .  ❞

“Seems you’ve got a lot of fond memories, aye? That sounds quite amusin’ considering ya bein’ such a tame man. I suppose you take after him, then? Polite and friendly but fierce and strong when angered.”

“Ah, no. As my name suggests, I was notorious fer bein’ a troublemaker back on Asgard. Since I was a small child, I’ve been hated and shunned by nearly everyone.”

              ❝  THEY’RE not much different from me spears, really . they’re quite lovely, also red and yellow in color,  ❞  he explains, and chuckles as he reminisces about the stories his father would retell him about his past . ❝  it’s quite funny ― when ye meet him, he gives the mien of a gentle god who can do no harm . in truth, his fury is quite vicious … but much of my musical and romantic nature stems from me upbringin’ with him, ye could say . did ye have the pleasure of growin’ up with yer parents, loki ?  ❞

“Oh, what confidence. I’m impressed.” Loki teases, chuckling slightly. “Is there somethin’ ya wan’t should ya win? Other than bein’ normal.”

             ❝  HEH . what makes ye think yer goin’ te win ?  ❞  he asks, glancing back at the other over his shoulder as walks . ❝  i won’t have te bargain . i hold m’liquor quite well . what if i win ?  ❞

“Another time, then.” The swords could wait; for now, he was very curious about this man and his adoptive father. “Gods are of different kinds, no surprise he’s a bit of a handful. Then again, I’ve not the right t’talk. Ya grew up well enough, though, so at least he c’n be proud of somethin’.”

              ❝  AYE . he’s certainly … quite a lot te take in, if ye ask me … or anyone, for that matter . but he is lovable and has raised me tenderly as if i were his very own flesh and blood . through him, i got te know the presence of the other gods, too . me swords were given te me as a gift from him … sadly, i cannot show them te ye . i do not have them with me …  ❞

“Him!? I’ve heard stories, aye?! Dionysus likes t’drunk talk and the things I’ve heard were shockin’! I’ve not met him in person, but he certainly seems like he’s an interestin’ character, yeah?”

              ❝  CERTAINLY sounds like m’kind of lad ! as for me father … call ‘im more of a foster father, really, but he’s raised me since i was a babe, so i’ve never seen him as anythin’ else than me father . óengus óg, irish god of love . i believe he and dionysus would also get along splendidly . ❞

“Right? Dionysus is all about wine and romance, yeah?” Loki agrees, with a small nod.”Who’s yer old man, then? I’ll see if I know him.”

             ❝  TALK about an odd mix . don’t suppose ye’d know me father, then . this dionysus lad … ye’ll have te introduce me someday . maybe we three can go out for a drink, hm ?  ❞

Sorry my replies have been kind of scarce.  I’m havin’ some trouble with my right hand, not to mention schoolwork and helping out my father with his health.
