ohh i hadn't heard of this concept! that sounds like an amazing experience! ;;o;; it sounds a little like being multiple genders at once, which i think i would find a little overwhelming ^^;;;;

"there's more stuff going on here" certainly covers a lot, an all-purpose phrase for sure! i feel like genderfluid or genderqueer are the closest labels for how i see it, but i don't feel strongly enough about it to use it personally.

hello, thank you so much for subbing the boueibu movie! i am very grateful for all the time and effort you put into subbing it. i'm watching it atm and its really great! however, i hope this does not come as rude, but i noticed a TL that didn't make much sense to me. at the 22:06 mark, 顔(が)広い is being said by yumoto to gero. this got translated as "the look on your face!". but what it actually means is that gero knows a lot of people, and has nothing to do with his face in a literal sense. (1/2)

shinchan > ukkun "haikara!!" ukkun > shinchan "what a pain" (i think? it says yareyare..)

shinchan > akuta "haikara!!" akuta > shinchan "hopeless senpai" (i think? it says "shikata nai", "can't help it" senpai)

shinchan > souchan "haikara!!" souchan > shinchan .... the second kanji is kind of hard to make out, is it 自眷のできるいい男だ "a good man who can take care of himself"? i think that sounds right?

shinchan > narushi "haikara!!" narushi > shinchan "that fervor is beautiful" (literally "heat" but i feel like it means fervor or passion)

(same room) souchan > narushi "surely narushi is beautiful" narushi > souchan "socchan is also beautiful!"

haikara ep 1 reactions

- lmao the daikon radish interaction, im happy to see the characters interacting right off the bat. character interactions are the high point for me and this was cute and funny. it was fanservicey but felt character-driven. i like this approach

(also these were two of the characters i was interested in based on the profiles, pigtails for looks and hungry boy bc the character worried about only having one trait felt sort of meta lol)

- ok now we have to have the standard introductory conversation about food. was this originally parodying lucky star? my mind is glazing over a little... i kinda miss lucky star now, the art style was so cute T-T

- the way this guy's shoulders are moving up and down is kind of mesmerizing

- mutually supporting each other's beauty.. that was sweet ahah. this guy is worried that he's going to take away the other guy's pretty boy prize, then the other guy reassures him that he's way more beautiful so he'll definitely win hahaha this is so silly and ridiculous and honestly sweet to see them supporting each other. i like this direction

- the closeup with all the sparkles is very pretty, i like the style

- "why do you strip us naked every morning" pls.. they can do it themselves... yeah they're still out here blatantly trying to fuel imagination

- not super happy about this guy feeling like a goura clone, i would rather they don't rehash the same story and characters again. hoping they'll do something new with it

- lmao people trying to praise the guy's beauty and pigtails is like "he also does other stuff" loool (reversal of when people only comment on women's looks)

- don't know enough about the villain trio to be attached to them yet, they're still mostly giving me nostalgia for the originals. the boueibu cast feels fresh so i hope the student council won't be clones.

- pigtailed boy is my favorite so far i think. but im enjoying all the interactions between the main cast and it's refreshing.

- i felt like it was driven by character interaction and not random innuendo, which is a plus to me. it feels a bit more like a traditional shoujo and not "what?!", which is what i had wanted in a magical boy show originally so im happy to see it (though the original is certainly also special lmao) - im going to eat now (hungry boy worrying about only having one character trait is what made me interested in him, but so far i do feel like he only has one character trait so im less interested LMAO;;)
