I love how basically all of the people that ship Bob Velseb with their ocs are like "This is a cannibalistic serial killer but he has a soft spot for this character that's literally a walking talking ray of sunshine and they hold hands and cook each other dinner!"

And all the people that ship their ocs with Dexter are like "This guy is so fucked up, bet my silly character (literally the most deranged guy ever) can make him worse and give him a kiss. Also do you guys think Doll Dexter likes head scratches"

Sometimes Dexter gets mischaracterized as either a heartless murderous monster or as a poor innocent guy who can do no wrong and both of these interpretation SUCK! HE'S SUCH AN INTERESTING AND FLAWED CHARACTER AND I LOVE HIM FOR THAT! He's a grown man, he knows he has a big problem (aka, his needs) and he's enough of a good person to not want to hurt other people, but he still convinced himself that animals don't have feelings so that he doesn't feel bad about what he does.

While I do believe that he's still good at heart, he's good in the same flawed way humans are. He's made some very questionable choices. Let him be a bit deranged while also struggling with his mental health and intrusive violent thoughts, and trying to keep himself in check!!

He's such an interesting character i'll never get tired to talk about him

The thing that actually destroys me about Dexter Erotoph is that. He was genuinely trying to be good despite his issues. He seemed to keep himself quite isolated and to only be close to his mom, and kept his urges under control in a productive way by working as an exterminator. Even when trapped inside the Happy Fella doll, it took him ONE YEAR to decide to kill the kids, because his sanity had completely decayed by then. It's heartbreaking to see the notes in the SM4 ARG being like "I CAN'T KILL THEM, THEY ARE CHILDREN" repeated over and over. And to think he's still alive and conscious in the attic, unable to move...

He deserved so much better. Under normal circumstances, him and the kids would've gotten along so well, too.
