Hair is one of my favorite things to draw so I decided to do a tutorial!

My handwriting is God-awful, though, so here’re the steps written out:

 Darkest base color, 100%

 Medium color, 35%

Darkest color again, 35%. Normally I use a couple of strokes to thicken up the color, but I like to keep this layer lighter so that the color from step two shows through

Lightest color, 14%. I really like to build up this layer so the color has a lot of texture to it.

White, 9%. I like to add this to the curves of the hair to give it shape.

Tips!

Use curved lines! This gives shape to the hair so it isn’t flat.

Play around with overlays! For dyed blond hair like this, warm colors looks really good.
