Sometimes, I just wanna lay my head on someone's lap while they stroke my fur and reassure me that I've done a good job. Is that too much to ask? 😔

I've also discovered that my werewolf side is linked to vampirism.
I can't help but want to feast as a big beast... to sink my fangs into flesh and drain the blood from a vessel.

Just wanna sprawl out on the farm, basking in the summer sun, huffing, and sighing contently as a soft breeze ruffles my fur.

Not a typical nonhuman post. But I encourage you to read.
What I'm about to say probably won't make much sense... but I don't need it to. Those who get it will get it.
I've technically "transitioned" (hormones+surgeries), I'm masculine in a lot of aspects. But I am not a man. I do not align with manhood (though it is not a bad thing. So those who do, rock on). I don't associate masculinity with being a man.
But I am not a woman, either. And I also don't think me having feminine traits makes me a woman.
I am nonbinary, but my outward appearance and the gender I was assigned with at birth (a girl, just for context) makes a lot of room for medical discrimination, ostracization, safety risks, and invalidation.
Instead of being treated with respect, I am treated like something unworthy of existing.
It is tiring, and honestly, the shit I have been told, and have dealt with is fucked up. But I won't stop being nonbinary.
If my identity confuses you or contradicts your beliefs of what being queer is, then good.
I won't stop being queer and expressing myself. I won't conform to society' ideas of acceptable expression and identity.

Hello, your (somewhat) friendly neighborhood LGD is here.
Fellow creatures and voids alike.
Reminder that your experience is unique and personal to you.
Your experience does not mean another individual has to experience the same thing as you.
You are not invalid for having a different experience than other critters. And they are not invalid for how they express themselves.
All of us are valid. None of us are hurting anyone. The only harm being done is when you compare.
And remember to utilize the block button.
I'm cobbing everyone who allows me to now as a gesture of peace.
Get cobbed.

This isn’t even intended to be a shit-stirrer, but one thing I’ve noticed throughout my time as a dog therianthrope in (of course) canine-predominant spaces is this…. strange superiority behavior by wild canids. Obviously this isn’t to encompass all wild canines, in fact I don’t even mean most, but a typical string of particular behaviors I’ve noticed have caught my attention.
It’s this way of talking down upon anything that isn’t “serious enough”. First I’ve seen it with grilling-adjacent behavior the most, things like “you’re not a real wolf/etc. if you can’t even tell a husky from a wolf”… which, whatever, I (loosely) understand things like that. I think it’s important and beneficial to be able to differentiate such animals and to at-least know more than simply the name of your species or whatnot. I understand. But then it extends to other things, like straight-up hollering at dog therianthropes for comparing themselves to wolves, no matter for what reason, because “that’s enforcing the idea that wolves can be/are pets” and things like that. Which is where I feel it’s becoming ridiculous. And then there’s the more recent behavior of more deliberately deeming dogs as “dumb domestic animals” and wolves as “cooler and factually better”. The most well-known example I can think of is talk of how, usually by the wild canine therian/nonhuman here, that they’re NOT like dogs or similar in any shape way or form, because dogs are house pets and denote a sense of innocence and cowardly-behavior, wolves don’t, and they’re a wolf so they’re not like that — they’re SERIOUS.
I also see this range of particular behaviors affect other species too. I frequently have seen deer therianthropes be righteously irritated by the misrepresentation of their species as “feeble and powerless”, or from wild-carnivorous species describing deer & similar herbivores as such in a punch-down manner, and even sometimes acting like shit towards therianthropes & nonhumans alike who are these species, all for the sake of “I’m NOT like you guys. I’m serious, I’m cool”.
Which concludes me to just say: Why are we acting like this? There’s no justifiable reasoning to be a bully towards individuals who are a species that you purposely don’t take the time to understand and therefore misrepresent. Like, backtracking to earlier on the topic of “Hah! They’re not a wolf! They don’t know the difference between a husky and a wolf”, respectively, whens the last time you’ve seen someone act like that BUT in the reverse context. “Hah! They’re not a dog! They can’t tell the difference between a Caucasian Ovcharka and a St. Bernard!”; Which sure, that’s a little more understandable because obviously dogs have a wider niche in terms of various breeds and therefore most aren’t willing to go that far, I understand, but my point is to emphasize that there’s no true need to be acting like this no matter the situation.
I understand and encourage the research of your species, however that may look to you, I think it’s good to learn and to open up your mind about these things if you’re an animal. It’s beneficial. However, the way we as a community go about it, and have gone about it throughout the years, with grilling culture and, maybe not as prominent now, but publicly criticizing and going “Hey, look at this idiot who calls themself an animal but doesn’t even know A and B!”, which sort-of rejuvenated in its own sense with the draught of hating on therianthropes on other platforms, “Tiktok therians”…. It’s just another way to create more discourse and to find new ways to hate. It’s frustrating, and although few like to admit it it’s nevertheless a deeply-rooted issue that encompasses plenty of subcultures in our community.

Daily reminder that if you want something to be more present in your community you have to start posting about it
If you want more serious discussion posts- you need to make more serious discussion posts.
If you want more silliness around your type- you need to post more silliness around your type.
If you want more art, writing, photodumps etc. of your type or kin- you need to get to creating and posting.

Does anyone else feel not-so-silly?
I have respect for the silly and lighthearted nonhuman posts out there. I think spreading positivity is important.
But I feel like an old, tough, no-bullshit working dog. I got coarse, mud covered fur, scars from protecting my territory, and little time for being carefree.
I can't see myself being a silly guy when all I was trained for was protection. I can't help but want to see more content similar to myself (which is why I post).
Maybe it's a unique form of vulnerability I have yet to unlock. What do you all think?
