i feel that the elmax nation will take a long time to succeed in life. i'm eagerly awaiting photos of them on set.

max showed her the true face of love – a love where she doesn't need to belong to someone all the time, where there's fun beyond physical attraction, where her companion patiently understands that she's not like others and lets her use her powers as she pleases. max took her shopping, played music for her, showed her magazines where she could find herself, and even read Wonder Woman comics to her. max helped eleven find her outer and inner identity, letting her breathe in a new world – the world of sapphic love, where she fit in, a world where she truly felt she had escaped that dirty laboratory.

“Did u just…bite me?” El asked, looking at her arm at the place where Max’s teeth were a moment ago.

"No. Yes? I mean” Max took the pillow and hugged it to herself, “It’s an impulse, you know? I just love you so much that I want to bite you” She finished, a little embarrassed. Max didn’t want to do it, she didn’t think, she just… did it.

El was looking at her face without a word.

And then simply bend down and bit Max’s arm in the same way, Max did to hers arm.

“El,” Max giggled, taking her hand in hers. “You don’t have to copy me”

“But I love you too” El stated, looking at her girlfriend’s face with so much pure love that Max wasn’t sure what to do with herself.

In the end, she realized that maybe she knows what to do with herself. And El. El’s lips.

So, without wasting time, Max cupped El’s cheek and closed the space between them, giving El a small kiss on the lips.

POV: Spring 1989

El and Max leave Hawkins, for a road trip, joking about memories they made when they were fourteen.

El is nervous about the new feelings she has for her best friend.

"It's more in life than stupid boys, you know"

Both laughed about that earlier. Actually her heart beats faster, but it's not for a stupid boy, it's for a sarcastic smart girl with the most beautiful eyes in the world.

She's afraid of losing her, she almost did with Vecna, the time she had to wait to see her waking up from her coma was a waking nightmare, she couldn't handle the idea of a life where Max was not next to her...

So if the only way for her to keep her in her life is to forget about her feelings.

She would put them in a box, at the back of her heart, pretending they don't even exist. She would be okay to be just a "friend"

Right?

Max noticed she's was not totally here; _"What's wrong", El smiled softly, she couldn't take her eyes away from the oceans blue ones right next to her, she's following the freckles on Max's face, before coming back to reality, when she's passing her hand trough her ginger hair, jeez focus Jane.

El looks at the road before asking; _"Where are we going?"

_"To have some fun", the smile of Max comforts El, with confidence she takes her hand, both look at their hands, but El needs to be focused on the road, she gets her attention back on it.

She feels Max's fingers linked to hers.

El almost forgot how to breathe after that.

Max can't take her eyes away from their hands, her heart skips a beat before getting erratic.

She remembers when she woke up after almost two years in coma, El was the first person she saw, and the last thing she remembered before Vecna killed her.

It was El angrily telling him

"if you touch her again. I'd would kill you again"

And she knows, she did everything to save her that night...

She brought her back to life,

Her Wonder Woman...

And El never left her side after that. Even when she has undergone rehabilitation, learnt how to speak and walk again, and all the simple little things of everyday life. She was also with her, when she heard the news, about her mother...

_"Heading for Chicago!", the exclamation surprised her, vanishing the bad thoughts;

_"Why Chicago ?" She remembers El talking about the trip she went on before they met officially, about her sister Kali, the number Eight, she looks at El, and notices her smirk;

_"I make my own rules" a feeling of pride consumes her heart when she hears El

_"It's presumptuous of you... yeah you might be here"

After a moment El asked her;

_"Should we name the van ?", …
