hi! it would mean a lot if you could read this.

we're a band from south london called bears in trees. we're a bit like my chem if they wrote more songs about descending into dirt.

we released our debut studio album three weeks ago. it's called and everybody else smiled back, and it's about the past four years of our lives. it's about found family, falling asleep in bathtubs, and keeping your friends calm in ambulances. it's the most heart we've ever poured into anything ever which is terrifying and exciting and uh, i guess we want you to listen to it.

if you're reading this you might already listen to us, or you might have a friend who knows about us, or you might have never heard about us and suddenly Here We Are Talking To You. in short, it would be swell if you could check us out. you can listen to the and everybody else smiled back here.

hello! i am going to use this post to talk about the best way to support us. hear me out, for reasons i will explain

if you want to support us financially, then merch/seeing us live are the obvious choices. these are all very lovely options. there's a third option that we don't talk about so much; our patreon.

on our patreon currently we have:

an ep of 6 unreleased songs that didn't make it onto the new album, a documentary about the making of i see blue, over 20 demos and unreleased songs from across our time as a band, biweekly updates from a different band member each time, chord bibles for all of our songs, a special patron only chat in our discord server, video tutorials for our most popular songs, and a 10% discount on our merch store.

patreon gives us a very clear consistent income each month which is incredibly handy. it's transparent; everyone can see how much we get from it. it starts from the price of a cup of coffee each month (£4 in the uk) and though there are some higher priced tiers, all tiers get get the same rewards because ultimately we don't want to encourage anyone to contribute beyond their needs. our next goal is 225 patrons - when we get there we'll film a set made up of the most voted songs from across our catalogue - literally every song will be in the running.

i know this won't apply to everyone which is totally fine! the best way to support us is still just sharing our music online (word of mouth is SO strong) but our patron costs goes towards improving our live show, improving our recording process, and ultimately gives us more time to commit to the band right now (idk what it appears like but the band isn't any of our full time jobs yet!).
