Now, here’s the video of Jensen talking about “Watching Over Me”.

The question was asking if the song was about Castiel or the storyline.

Jensen’s answer is vague, he never says Castiel or Destiel, he says, after some internal debate, “the story”.

That is not at all what hellers have been reporting.

In Season 8, Castiel is barely ever around either of the brothers, and it’s probably Sam and Dean’s most intimate season, despite their conflict, since probably around Season 3. This is also the Season of “Don’t you dare ever think there is anything past or present that I would put in front of you!” That includes Castiel, Folks!

But yeah, people were watching for destiel. 🙄

In Season 9, Dean and Castiel have even less screen time together, and I think Sam and Carole might actually have more screen time. This is also the season of Dean telling Sam, “Thete ain’t no me if there ain’t no you!”

And it’s the season where Dean kicked Castiel out of the bunker without a second thought, even though he was powerless and penniless. And Dean followed this up by making fun of how pathetic Castiel was while trying to work to support himself.

I’ve never seen such romance!! 🙄.

Season 11 has similar ratings to Season 9, and it’s THE brother Season of of the Carver Era. Their brotherly love literally inspires cosmic siblings to stop fighting and make up, thus saving the world. And Castiel is off by himself watching tv inside his vessel while he lets the devil run amok. Literally no destiel to be found.

I love how hellers throw around ratings numbers as if the first 4 seasons weren’t the strongest ones, and that was probably only because of the writers strike in Season 3. And they claim Cadtiel “saved” the show in Season 4, but the show was doing fine, better than it did for most later seasons. He certainly wasn’t saving anything when the ratings dipped in Season 5.

Any fuck-wit with a computer can get an article published online, it doesn’t give a garbage ship any credibility to the greater audience, it just gives them more fodder to laugh at how pathetic and desperate these shippers are, even 5 years after the last season.

Also, the only Season that had even the faintest whiff of destiel, with Castiel’s lame speech, has the LOWEST ratings of the whole series. THAT’S how much people love that ship.

Why don't these people actually look at the numbers?? The numbers were actually at an all time high the first five seasons. They never returned to that level. Really, what are you people smoking???

Imagine watching Supernatural, Season 2, that beautiful nugget of a season full of the brothers loving each other so much, a wide variety of episode styles with distinct tones, tons of brother moments, recurring characters who feel like actual characters, but don’t overstay their welcome, a fundamental year of character development, and the distinct lack of angels in pantsuits, and thinking … “well, that was whatever, now just one more short season before my beloved winged trench coat is back on my screen!”

This could never me me.

Watching supernatural while not really caring about the brothers’ relationship, and just waiting for the most watered down over time recurring character to show up is wild. Never mind thinking the writers forgot about Sam in the middle of his own hero arc in Season 2.

Dean often has emotional arcs while Sam has plot ones, though they both obviously have elements of the other, too. It’s really not that hard to grasp. The only time this truly changes is in Season 9b-10 and maybe 11b.

Musings Based on a Twitter Convo I Stumbled Across …

Sitting here and contemplating how Bobby (Cranky Old Bastard) Singer ended up sexually/romantically paired with Ellen, Jody and Mary (well, the poor man’s version of Bobby), on top of his wife who he killed.

How?

I guess Ellen was closer to being his contemporary. But Jody? Was she even 10 years older than Sam and Dean? And Mary, who was mentally younger than her sons??

And let’s not forget the ghost lady from Season 7 (I’m too lazy to look up her name). She slept with Dean. Very understandable. She slept with Soulless Sam. Hot! And she slept with Bobby. One of these things just isn’t the same.

It’s just crazy to me that that old dude got around so much. Like, Supernatural has a couple of super not brothers on it, but any recurring lady (besides a few love interests) get to be with Bobby.

This right here should tell us that there was always an element of SPN that was still written for straight men, even when they acknowledged the fan girls. We got a ton of pretty women on screen over those 15 years, but besides Sam and Dean, there were like 3 other attractive guys ever on the show.
