I really love your blog, but I literally don't ship rhack AT ALL, and I'm guessing that's because the way I played Rhys he worked against Jack the whole time and he hated him.
That seems to be the general divide amongst fans! Those who played Rhys on Jackâs side and as a smarmy corporate asshole see him being pretty compatible with the powerful CEO. Everyone else? Not so much.Â
Though this blog is dedicated to the ship, so it miiiight not be the best place for someone who doesnât ship it.Â

What do you think of The other ships, I.E rhyiona, rhysha, jackothy?
Heyo! Mod Jack here. I canât speak for mod Rhys, but Iâll try to answer this as comprehensively as I can with a short answer up front: Theyâre all well and good! If youâre asking me why I donât ship those specific ships:1. Rhyiona, I feel, takes two characters who become family and pushes them into this last-minute âbut it was really romanticâ thing via the dialog option at the end of the game. I saw them as partners in survival, and friends that had lost faith in one another (in the frame story) but never as rivals that complimented eachotherâs best or worst qualities, so the chemistry there didnât come off as romantic to me. 2. Rhysha: I really like Rhysha! I think itâs sweet. It flows perfectly well with the Rhys that is Hyperion-Stooge-Turned-Martyr. However, if you play the Rhys that is Asshole-Till-The-End, Sasha will actually end up... disliking him a little. Since I played Asshole Rhys (i.e the one that sucked up to Jack/ was friends with him until the end) I didnât get to see their route together until my second playthrough. I really like it, though! I think sheâs got a sense of adventure and passion that Rhys lacks. Sheâs definitely the pants-wearer in the relationship. 3. Jackothy: Okay, you gotta admit, Jack flirting with the double of himself in the Pre-Sequel is pretty much all a fandom needs to take off with a ship. I think Jack is terrible for Timothy. Pre-Vault Jack and Timothy might work, but post-vault and post Timothy going off the radar... I donât know. Jack is basically terrible for anyone, except Nisha, maybe, who is just as rough and tumble as he is.Â
Speaking of which:Â
Nack: I really love this ship. Nisha and Jack are absolutely chaotic together. I see them as the type of people who get together twice a year, have a fling, and then text eachother about it until they see one another again. Pretty sure itâs implied she married him at one point.Â

I was thinking about how Hyperion would be like if Rhys and Jack managed it together as Co-CEOs. The classic âGood Cop/Bad Copâ seems to fit well with these two corporate jerks.Â
One of the aspects I enjoy most about Rhys and Jackâs dynamic is that their temperaments are different enough to balance each other but overlap enough for them to collaborate :::::Â Rhys is level-headed enough to keep Jack grounded and keep him from making rash/destructive decisions. Jack is a lot more experienced in running a business and I assume heâs quite brilliant at it. Thereâs a limit to what sheer force can achieve, and waving a gun around alone canât push a corporation to the top while making the population love/hate him. Heâs a man who knows when to use a whip, make bold decisions, and when to use a carrot (he just likes using the whips too much). He can mentor Rhys in those aspects.
So I guess this would be a rough draft of a (canon divergence?) AU where the Vault Hunters and residents in other galaxies refer to them as the âTwo-Headed Snake of Hyperionâ (idk itâs funny to me)::::: Together, they launch a planet rehabilitation project called âProject Angelâ for Pandora, where they combine Jackâs approach of using force to wipe out legit trash bandits and dangerous creatures, and Rhysâ approach of forming a safe community and living environment with more consideration for the rest of the Pandorans.

AU where Jack and Rhys go to get tattoos together, and before Jack is talking himself up like âRhysie youâre going to cry like a little baby, you canât handle pain the way I canâ but Rhys ends up being fine and thinks it just tickles and scratches a little bit while Jack is tearing up and swearing and bitching the whole timeÂ
