Am I enough knowledgeable?
Over the years, Media has been a huge use of almost every particular individual, every institutions and generally speaking almost all over the world. It surpasses even to the deepest intents and minute places of the universe, in other word, accessible in all aspect.
Am I enough knowledgeable or am I literate with it comes to media and information literacy? By that question been asked, it gives us the importance of really knowing about media. It is really true that many people does not have knowledge and illiterate about media and information and that experts would always try their best to educate such. The value of being a media and information literate is significant particularly in our time today, and the problem is between our own humanity, like for example, We as human always tend to fight for freedom of expression and that the problem is we’re too much expressing our rights that we forget that we are leading to the point of being illiterate. Freedom of expression through social media would always be a freedom, but the main thing is, are we literate enough? Do we follow values and ethics? Absolutely not. Even the way we post and utter things, it seems that we are so confused of our freedom. Freedom, I would say have always its corresponding responsibility. Another example is, when we share information through Facebook, though it is not bad neither good, we still do even without thinking before clicking especially in sharing information without even knowing if true, or not, relevant or irrelevant. Are we even aware that by just a simple click, all info’s will be shared to millions of people around the world?
Media is so helpful, that is, if we use it with soberness, ethics and care. Let us be literate enough and be knowledgeable with the use of a careful handling of media and information.
