also the book was really bad

i read that book. it's bad

the only similarities were the name of the ship and the fact that it hit an iceberg. there are other similarities regarding the dimensions of the ship but from what ive heard those were added later to make it more similar to the actual titanic. in the book, the ship sank more or less immediately, only like 5 people survived, and the main character fought a polar bear on the iceberg (which youd think would be enough to make it good but alas). more of the book is spent talking to an insurance agent about the sinking than on the actual sinking itself. its a really, really, really bad book
