there IS actually a reason why seconds and minutes (and degrees for geometry) are in base 60 instead of base 10, and if you want to blame someone for that, blame the very specific way Babylonians counted with their fingers.

Hospital Security Cameras Captured the Unthinkable . Civilians were thrown into the air from the place or buried inside the missile crater.
And now, orders have been issued to evacuate all hospitals, universities, and schools in Gaza.

This is not war، This is extermination. They are erasing every trace of life, every pillar of society, every safe space — and the world is still silent.
If you can help, even a small donation could mean food, water, To my family in Gaza.

I finally watched The Sound of Music and like I get it now, I get it.
It’s a beautiful two hour love story of a strict man finally opening his heart again and then a fifty minute public service announcement to hate the nazis. Brilliant.

ugh god okay there are so many fantastic stranger missions in RDR2 but the one that makes me nerd out and want to throw something is getting the former slave catcher's stuff.
hear m out: if you choose to go through the entire house, look at it all from start to finish, you get a story. child's drawing, family photo from 1855, letters dated post-war that detail loss of employment, loss of family connections, loss of respect. and then destitution.
everything that NPC says is so accurate. 'i was respected one! i had a profession!' the ones that make me feel the strongest are 'they changed everything! they took it all away!' and his insistence that he 'still exists'.
like, listen listen, don't pity him ever. but people felt that way! some still do! that northerners came in and took everything away from the south and dragged them all to ruin! and i love that R* included that. that bitterness is so important, if you want to understand how the civil war is remembered and why the KKK formed and everything afterward.
and R* does it in a way that really hits you hard. you have to go into the basement, see the chains still on the walls. read the list of slaves returned for money. and ending it on 'minnie and child' was brilliant.
i really want to do an in-depth post about that entire region, the Raiders, the Grays an Braithwaites, even our nameless Confederate veteran who believes he picked the wrong side. i want to talk about all of the things R* got right and show the real-life inspiration for what we see in the game.
hell, i can even yell about the fact that the battlefield is still littered with human bones, splintered trees. the trees, especially. there are accounts of survivors talking about how the hail of bullets and balls would be so thick that trees would splinter apart. and dead bodies were often left by the losing side and the towns nearby had to bury thousands of strangers. the smell would infect the air for miles, the bodies would pollute water ways and just....it devastated the natural world as much as the people in it.
and this is a VIDEO GAME.
