my unpopular opinion is that i hate tiktok because now people just publicly watch loud ass videos in public spaces with no regard for anyone else. 100% it was not this bad with youtube, it’s such a different thing with tiktok. put on headphones. you are grown.

There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.

This is because everything in my life requires work:

maintaining friendships

keeping up with my hygiene

managing bills

making money

remembering my basic needs

sleeping regularly

outputting creatively

All requires some aspect of work for me.

And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.

If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.

If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.

You're not dysfunctional.

You're not incapable.

You're doing your best.

It sends me to a different level of hell every time people think that overconsumption crap that makes you buy hundreds of little containers for your products so your living space can be an aesthetic, post worthy monstrosity and say "It the OCD" meanwhile I'm stuck in one part of the house opening and closing the window for the seven time until it 'feels right' so my brain stops telling me im in life threatening danger, or not been able to touch some of my clothes on days when my mind convinced me that if I go aiu with that shirt there will be a fucking catastrophe. Been neuro divergent isn't fashionable, people just use words they have absolutely no idea about

someone on the news claiming that "adhd is fashionable" meanwhile people are still dicks if you forget things easily, need people to give clear instructions, ask someone to repeat themselves, or can't sit still for longer than half an hour at a time. this is like saying "ocd is fashionable" because people like to say they're "a little ocd" when they like things organised
