Malborough, Devon. Jan 2020. As storm Brendon rolls over us I am staying warm and dry inside, hope you are too. Inspiration has been hard to find so far this year, I thought I would wake up im 2020 with renewed direction and drive... but I have never been great at this time of year. I love sunshine and warmth and at the moment that is pretty hard to find. Boat builders have always been part of Salcombe and there seem to be two kinds, ultra modern, RIB or GRP builders and then there is the wooden boat builders. Salcombe Harbour, December 2019 I went to Salcombe today in search of inspiration. I was looking for street scenes but didn't find any that caught my eye. So I had walk down to the harbour and sat a while. The water today was still and calm, all the bouys were empty, not a sail boat in sight. There was however someone having a bonfire on the other side of the water and as the smoke drifted over and into the sun a boat came through it with some elderly gentleman enjoy a slow row around. There was no sound, no bright colours, just calm and quiet.... hopefully this shot captures just a little of that.
