You've probably heard this before but do you think there is a chance that Varian could be related to Dermatitis(mispelled sorry)
Demanitus. And yes, I’ve definitely heard that. And I guess it’s possible, but it’s not one of the things I’m particularly banking on. Whether he is or not, I won’t be surprised, delighted, or disappointed either way.

Here's the answer to #Rickysquest! This shot from Quest for Varian foreshadows Cass's origin & turn. It was a direct nod to Gothel looking in the mirror moments before her death. In the script, she also stumbled over Rapunzel's hair, but that was cut. #TangledTheSeries

Note
Maybe it's nothing, but when Eugene first meets Varian he mistakenly calls him "Veritas" which means "truth".

It was, but I’m not gonna let you not get credit for it, too, if that’s what it is.
(I think someone already posted about this the other day, but this has been in my drafts for about a month and a half, so bear with me! I was hoping to get at least one theory posted before S3 starts. xD)
In Queen For A Day, when Quirin breaks down the area of false wall in his room and pulls out the old chest stamped with the Dark Kingdom symbol, the only thing we see him remove from the chest is a soldier's helmet.
Tumblr media
He looks at the helmet for a minute, then turns it slightly to look at the sizable gash scratched into the helmet over the right eye.
Tumblr media
If that's his old helmet, as it being in his old chest would seem to imply, then it really makes me wonder. What exactly happened there? A sword fight? An attack? Betrayal? Trying to protect the Queen? I stand by the idea that if we're specifically shown something mysterious in this show, it's never unimportant. I'm pretty sure we'll get to learn more about that mark later. (@rickysquest, maybe?)
But speaking of gashes over someone's right eye...
Tumblr media
...It kind of reminds me of the scar Herz Der Sonne is shown with in Under Raps?
Tumblr media
That’s definitely a Dark Kingdom helmet, and Der Sonne is definitely Coronan. (He was the king!) But to me, those marks are a little too similar to be pure coincidence. Could the helmet have belonged to Der Sonne just like the book did? Are there ties we don't know about between Corona and the Dark Kingdom? Or could attacking the right eye of enemies be a Saporian thing? Could Quirin have ties to Corona (or Der Sonne), and that's why he feels such an allegiance to it? It would seem to me that King Frederic is likely a descendant of Herz Der Sonne, at least judging by their appearances. What if Quirin is too? What if the similarities we've noticed between Raps and Varian are because they're related, however distantly? (I mean, probably not, of course, but what if?)
Whatever the case, I feel we'll be getting more questions and answers when Season 3 airs. This show is tons of fun to theorize about! Theories are all theoretical though, and I can't wait to find out where the show goes from here. This is going to be an amazing three seasons of animation and storytelling! (I'm totally buying the DVDs.)
Tangled Season 3 premieres October 7th! BE THERE, BE THERE, BE THERE!

Maybe the reveal will have something to do with Sweet Feet Lance! His hopscotch skills may come in handy somehow.
Well, Ricky did say that it’s something that’s already happened, but will be more obvious in S3.

Friedborg painted what looked like black rocks on the group mural. Also, both she and Vigor had unfocused eyes. Only when Demanitus surfaced did the monkey's eyes focus. We've never heard Friedborg talk. We've also learned that Zhan Tiri's voice actor is FEMALE. What I'm saying is this silly speculation might have some substance to it: Friedborg is Zhan Tiri's vessel! It would certainly be a HUGE twist, but I do believe there are at least some parallels between Friedborg and Vigor!
Friedeborg just painted the corner of the painting black, not the black rocks. I honestly think she’s just supposed to be a weird (questionable) joke and has zero ties to Zhan Tiri.
But who knows, the monkey is Demanitus.

The other day I’ve come across this again and it felt almost too trivial to mention because for me it’s a given, but I also haven’t seen people talking about it yet and that’s what we’re chasing here for the quest right?
The question here is, when Varian first approached Rapunzel he was wearing his goggles. Why? He’s not working with alchemy, that he’d require them for protection at the time.
Now who knows me, knows that I’m using the discarded Wanted Poster that was supposed to be in Season 1 as an avatar in discord because I a) love the design, b) love the idea.
I think this scene is a leftover of them cutting it from Season 1 and he’s wearing the Goggles in order to not be recognized. It’s further established by the fact that he’s looking around nervously for potential witnesses before he goes to ‘unmask’ for Rapunzel and he does bring up in conversation at least that people are not too happy with him right now. (Hence losing the poster wouldn’t have caused too much harm or been redundant…)
But it made me think that maybe the WANTED POSTER will make its way into the show in Season 3 :>

Unsure if it's been pointed out, but maybe there is significance to the element/compound Eugene and Cass were named after? Like the Flynnolium causing explosive reactions and the Cassandrium created under pressure? I feel like there's more to it, but I can't think of it right now!
Huh! That’s an interesting take on it!!

@princesslaura26: Ricky's Quest Guess
Hi everyone! I am doing Ricky's Quest pretty late but I think I found something!
In Secret of the Sun Drop when Cassandra is packing her stuff, we can see a portrait on top of her bed with a horse and a shadowy person on it. Along with that there is also a crescent moon! If you look as close as you can to the person on the horse, it looks she is wearing armor (I am saying "she" because clearly Cassandra is supposed to see herself in the picture."
I might now be going into too much detail when I say this but the frame might represent Rapunzel's hair, or the outer edges of the sun.
I've only looked at a few of these posts so I'm sorry if this has already been said!
I feel pretty confident that this is what Ricky is talking about! Can't wait till the 7th!
Well, I know the crescent moon has been mentioned before - more than once, in fact! - but I don’t think I’ve seen anything specific about the portrait!

the mysterious helmet (Ricky's quest)
Tumblr media
Okay, so there was already another post talking about how Quirin’s helmet holds significance since (the old King of Corona, Herz something?) has a scar on the same side of his face.
Though I don’t think those two are connected, (maybe they are idk) I REALLY can’t get this scene out of my head. It’s so quiet, no dialogue, soft music, etc. I can’t say I know the exact significance of the scar on the helmet (after all it could just be random design like: “Oh hey, let’s put a scar on the helmet cause it looks cool!”)
but my guesses are:
Quirin remembers someone hit him there, so he knows it’s dangerous which is why Varian can’t know “the truth.” (Maybe it was Hector?)
The black rocks scratched him there while he had his helmet on, almost causing him to lose an eye which is why he doesn’t want Varian to touch them.
Since the scar is reflected on the right side of Quirin’s face, maybe he accidentally hurt Adira there which is why her face is covered in paint.
Hector has a scar on his face, so maybe something ELSE happened to him and Quirin and he got in a fight and almost scarred Quirin’s face.
Maybe Quirin’s wife was a member of the Dark Kingdom, and Quirin is responsible for her disappearance? Probably accidentally hurt her which is why the left side of her face is turned away in the portrait.
Tumblr media
Those are my basic guesses. I honestly have been watching Season 1 religiously just looking for SOMETHING that fits the criteria of Ricky’s Quest. I’m not 100% certain this is the scene I’m supposed to be looking at, but I am a bit more confident that Varian has some sort of connection to Zhan Tiri from this post.
All in all, still have no idea.
