Mouthwashing Good End AU

Fleshing out my own emotional support mouthwashing au cuz there’s a lot of “the tulpar crew survive and make it out” so here my whole funny little timeline (loosely inspired by art from @hokanko1729 )

TW for referenced SA, addictions, miscarriage, attempted suicide, violence/ injury, cannibalism, Jimmy

Okay so Anya wakes up from the painkillers after almost overdosing, but it causes her to miscarriage, only causing further hardship for her while she also is stuck with the guilt of having taken the rest of Curly’s pain meds

It goes about the same way is it is in canon except Jimmy starts to plot to kill Anya after she tells Swansea about what he did causing tensions to further rise

Swansea and Anya confide in each other a lot more and he tell her about his struggle with alchaholism and how he took matters into his own hands, and his speech about drive and stuff (I’m not the best at putting it into words)

After Daisuke gets out of the in the vents he loses consciousness from his injuries and is presumed dead but is actually just very comatose and not doing too hot

-Swansea’s alcoholism gets a lot worse after Daisuke’s presumed death, but he actively tries to moderate himself more for Anya’s sake, and both of them grow closer after it

-Swansea (in one way or another) finds out Jimmy was the one causing the crash, which he reveals to him and confronts him while drunk in the middle of the night, this causes an altercation where Jimmy tries to shoot him but instead just take out his eye

-with the lack of medical supplies and painkillers he is a lot worse off and the wound starts to show signs of infection, while Anya does the best she can they are still incredibly tight of medical supplies so it

-several weeks later, jimmy gets restless while there is no food left, he kidnaps curly and cuts off part of his leg like he does in canon, and Anya finds him but instead decides to take matters into her own hands and kills him with the axe before he can do anymore damage

-after that it’s presumably just Anya, Swansea, and Curly alone in the ship, they are a lot more somber about the whole thing and try to make the most of what little time and resources they have left, and send jimmy’s body out into space, (he doesn’t deserve a memorial)

-which ironically ends up catching the attention of a different cargo ship, who are led back to the Tulpar, and call a rescue team

-the gang are rescued and all given medical treatment (fucking finally ikr)

-Daisuke is found to be alive and wakes up from his coma a few months after returning

-Curly stays in the hospital and is gradually rehabilitated but his recovery is pretty rocky and he’s regularly in and out of treatment for both physical and psychiatric reasons

-Curly and Anya have a hell of a lot of uncomfortable conversations and it’s a lot more awkward and tense around the two, but he eventually says he’s thankful she killed Jimmy

-Anya goes to therapy and gets antidepressants as well as a cat because I think she deserves one, and is able to go back into school

-everyone’s full of so much guilt but they’re trying you guys

-Swansea goes to rehab and gets a glass eye until Daisuke woke up and said he should get an eyepatch, so he’s got one badass eyepatch

-the gang sues Pony Express for well, obvious reasons, and the whole story is blown into a big scandal with the corporation as well as the crew unfortunately becoming a big topic on true crime podcasts

-Curly’s pretty reclusive as a combination of guilt and being pretty easily recognizable by interviewers and tabloid articles and shit, but Anya still visits him frequently and Daisuke and Swansea come by as well

-Daisuke lives with Swansea, and Daisuke never really finds one life purpose, but he finds passion in a lot of random weird hobbies
